Mine is pretty good just because I like the people who work there, but they don't carry any games before PS2, they have bullshit prices on games and they don't give you shit for trading in games.

I just traded in a brand new Darksiders and got 26 dollars for it.

And about tips, I don't know. Its pretty self explanitory. Prepare for a great fucking game.
I think it depends on what Gamestop you go to. I traded in my Darksiders and got 45$ back.

Good for you, but I'm still pissed the fuck off about it.
Ty, but then again, read my earlier post.

The GameStop that I go to has a manager that fucking loves me. I am just pissing you off more aren't I?
Not really. The manager at this one likes me too, but obviously not as much.

I haven't had any trouble with any of the ones I've been to recently. There are 5 in my area and I haven't a single horror story.

I like my Gamestop, well let me say I like the people who work there. They're all surprisingly normal and genuinly cool people. I never shop there because the prices are insane, but I stop in every once in a while to say hi and catch up.

i live on the mass/nh border and its annoying because the gamestop in mass is really good but the tax makes a 60$ game a 72$ game so I always end up going to new hampsire and the two shitty ones.
I just moved from Townsend and I never paid $72 for a game here in MA, though I myself took to going over the border to avoid the tax, as all good citizens on the border should. The sales tax here is a little over six percent, which only adds up to like three more dollars on a sixty dollar game, right? Or am I just doing it wrong?

There are few good ones, and most are not in malls. There was an EBgames that I constantly went to and they were awesome, hooking me up with games, free strategy guides and other junk. But they got closed down so now I go to my local GameCrazy and rarely go to a GS.

Mine has a fantastic selection of even PC games, a rarity in most GS I think. They only have one tiny shelf for Gamecube but two walls full ofPS2 and Xbox. I might get a used Xbox from them soon so I can play the games i missed off of it when I was only with the 'cube and PS2.

I love mine=] I used the sales to get assassins creed 2, borderlands, and dragon age for around $30 a piece

i really like my local gamestops (there are 4 within 10 minutes of my house and another 3 within 20). the people are really nice. i have had quite a few fun, intelligent discussions about the industry as a whole with the staff there and i always trust their picks when i ask whether i should get one of two games.

yeah I live in groton and 72 is an exageration but the tax is over 6% now i think
its a an extra 3 or 4 bucks so it adds up to someone who doesn't have a lot of cash to spend. the people at the tyngsburo gamestop were way better than the pheasant lane mall two.

Well, how much did you expect for Darksiders? After all, they're in the business of making money, and if no one buys your copy of Darksiders (I've seen some games on the shelf for a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG time), they gave you money and got nothing for it.
I hope they didn't get anything for it.

That company sucks. I love the guys there though.

Nice staff, terrible company.
Yeah. One of my friends knew a guy who worked there and he said they were told to rip people off at any opportunity.
Its pretty fucked up there.

Did you know that employees can rent out brand new games from Gamestop and bring them back a week later and sell them as brand new again?
Had this actually happen on a DS game. Hard to bullshit an answer when all of the game slots are already used up on a supposedly new game. Still, I'd rather do business with them over say...GameCrazy. They sold my pre-ordered and paid in full collector's copy of Wrath of the Lich King to one of the clerks friends, then refused to refund the money. Had to take that one to the corporate level...Fun fun.

Prepare for Blisters on your fingertips if you plan on getting the good ending. The bad ending lets you break the game on new game+ though...

That's pretty awesome. Now I want to ask the employees if they have older games.

The Gamespot that I go to is great, the staff is really friendly and it isn't anything at all like the ones described by the people that complain about the store.

I never trade in my games... I get crap for trading them in. 99% of the time I ebay my games off, it's a good deal for both the seller and the buyer. I asked the trade in value for Uncharted 1 and the response was 5GBP. I bought Uncharted 1 off ebay recently for 12GBP, and the preowned cost in store was 18GBP.

I hate them i hate them i hate them. The pc section has been getting smaller and smaller every year and they have nothing but all the sims and a few copies of whatever was released that month. BUT that said i did find a gamestop selling gba games for ?1 each including the minish cap and the golden sun games so its a bit of a mixed bag.
Again, PC demand is smaller, therefor supply will be smaller. The mass majority of people use steam or Pirate games. It's very rarely anyone goes to a store to buy a PC game anymore.
Thats not true about demand. the reason people buy off steam rather than gamestop is because gamestop can't price pc games to save their life, the answer isnt to get rid of the pc section it is to stop charging 40 euro for 4 year old games.
