I always hear about the evils of Gamestop, and while I'm sure there is a lot of truth to it, the local one here is actually a nice place to visit. It's well-organized and the staff are extremely helpful. They've even gone out of their way to do a few favors for me. So, I can't really complain about Gamestop. Also, I don't think the trade-in values are that bad as long as one effectively uses multiple game power trades to gain extra value.

Mine is pretty good just because I like the people who work there, but they don't carry any games before PS2, they have bullshit prices on games and they don't give you shit for trading in games.

I just traded in a brand new Darksiders and got 26 dollars for it.

And about tips, I don't know. Its pretty self explanitory. Prepare for a great fucking game.

Well, how much did you expect for Darksiders? After all, they're in the business of making money, and if no one buys your copy of Darksiders (I've seen some games on the shelf for a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG time), they gave you money and got nothing for it.

I hope they didn't get anything for it.

Yeah. One of my friends knew a guy who worked there and he said they were told to rip people off at any opportunity.

Did you know that employees can rent out brand new games from Gamestop and bring them back a week later and sell them as brand new again?

Had this actually happen on a DS game. Hard to bullshit an answer when all of the game slots are already used up on a supposedly new game. Still, I'd rather do business with them over say...GameCrazy. They sold my pre-ordered and paid in full collector's copy of Wrath of the Lich King to one of the clerks friends, then refused to refund the money. Had to take that one to the corporate level...Fun fun.

They do that at Gamestop too.

I had a preordered, fully paid copy of Resident Evil 5 and when I went to get it, they had sold it to some asshole who just walked in off the street.

Gamestop tells its employees to do that so they can sell more copies.

I love the EB Games/Gamestop that I live a few blocks away from. The employees are friendly, actually know about games, and carry many of my favourite games. It's my personal heaven on earth.

They're clean, most of the staff are friendly any there are shops in almost every town/shopping centre. However Amazon is usually cheaper for ordering online.
