Blasphemy! That's impossible!

Anyway, this has been a very interesting debate, I think. o_O

He was loyal to the very end... when you accidently cut your finger. Then he went nuts.

Back in my nipper days, I was playing Resident Evil 2 with a friend, he buggered of for tea, and left me to play. I proceeded to stand there, refusing to play due to the hissing from a licker.

Needless to say, 8 years on, resident evil does not scare me.

Dead space made me jump once or twice, especially when my girlfriend decided to nudge me on msn when I was playing.

The original Condemned and Dead Space rank pretty high, but I was very young when I first played my way through the original RE. And I have to say I have never enjoyed and feared something so much at the same time.

Until his food supply ran out, and he turned on you for a quick snack!

Silent Hill 2, especially with headphones on and the sound up. The sound is quite a large part of SH2's atmosphere.

Special mention goes to both of the crow rooms (the room with the paintings and the room with the bazooka) in the first Resident Evil.

Anything with spiders in soo,

Some Resident Evils/Doom3 ect.

Other than that I like the horror genre, as long as its not spider scary but psychological/jumpy scary im fine.

Fatal Frame 2, Silent Hill 2 and System Shock 2 are mild compared to Penumbra.

Penumbra made me believe I wasn't playing a game at one stage.

Oh wait, RE4 scared the crap out of me. I'd watch it and feel fine, maybe jump a little, but when I play I completely freak out.
The only thing scary in that game was the Regenerators.
Oh God. I hate those mu-foos. Scarieswt hing in game by far. The only thing I can think is more scary is those running.

I know I'm going to get laughed at for this but I'd have to say Left 4 Dead.

Playing it at night, alone, in a darkened room was bad enough, but then a loud screetch outside made me leave my chair (and my skin) behind go to bed.

It was the first time I'd actually been scared shitless by any game, I'v played the likes of F.E.A.R and Dead Space and I can honestly say that they didn't scare me at all. But the suspense that was built up in Left 4 Dead following all 3 of my team mates being killed was enough to make me vow to only play the game during the day.

The first time I played L4D, the atmosphere was awesome. The final climax event made my heart race...too bad it all loses it's luster later. :(

The atmosphere in Dead Space was GREAT... I did find it pretty scary, even though I keep reading about people that didn't.

Also: Silent Hill 3 (the second one was better, but the third was scarier) and AvP2 (yes, really!).
That's what I think all over apart from AvP2
