I'm going to recieve a neat $500 soon and thought now may be the time to invest in a PS3. I have every other console, but am feeling this hole in my collection. The problem is I don't feel as depressed by this predicament as I thought I would when it first hit the shelves. I'm yet to see a PS3 exclusive that demands I own the console, but then I thought perhaps I'm not trying hard enough.

I enjoy JRPGs and adventure games. From the get go I always said I'd get a PS3 when Tekken 6 and FFXIII came out, but as we know, fate, good marketing and a grab for cash stepped in to ensure my 360 would play them. The only thing it has going for it now is Versus XIII, and who knows when that'll be released.

So, if you love the PS3, tell me why someone like me should own one, with emphasis on the awesome games I am yet to trip over.
Heres a idea! How about put the 500$ in your savings account and save yourself a bunch of hate and anger! And if you dont have one make one!
Here's an even better idea!
Don't post if all you're going to do is post shit!
No need to get so offensive over a post. Just ignore each other.

(On Topic) I like the PS3. I say buy it if you want it. Main reason I bought one is for Heavy Rain.

I recently bought a PS3 (since I had a Christmas job in a games store I wanted to get one while I could still get discount ^^).

I mainly bought one for Uncharted 1 & 2 and Little Big Planet, but most importantly The Last Guardian when it comes out.

IMO the 360 is a superior console, the PS3 dashboard and store are awfully unintuitive and a mess when your not used to them. My main problem with the pads, even though the layout feels awkward when your used to a 360 pad, is that I found they felt cheap and 'plasticy'. = /

I do however enjoy the games I have for it, and if your really into games its nice to have a 360 and PS3 so you can always get games that you see and think look awesome (nothing worse than seeing an awesome advert and then the wrong logo pops up at the end!).

In short, its nice to have both, but if your not too bothered I'm sure you can buy some other shiny things to please you. Just be prepared to think that its inferior since you owned the 360 first (that's probably why I prefer mine). I'd buy one if I was in your situation. I did buy one.

Resistance 1 and 2, and both Ratchet games.
I just bought resistance 1 and am amazed at how generic and boring it is. I could not comprehend the praise it received at all.

Little big planet, on the other hand, blew me away. To be honest I turned a blind eye to it (not owning a PS3 until very recently) but it's absolutely charming and really fun to play.

Additionally, Demon's souls is quite a fantastic game as well. However, we can all have differing opinions ;)

how am i a troll?, dude your really confusing me, first you say that buying an Playstation makes you angry and hateful, or makes people angry and beginning to hate you, as i said i didn't really understand, and when i ask for an explanation you call me a troll.

I'm really confused right now.
DO i have to break it down for you? THE PS3 Sucks! its over priced and its Exclusives are not worth it.. When you can get the XBOX and have many better shooters and decent RPGS and or RTS's for a lesser price a better online experience better online store better EVERYTHING! Its just a goddamn fact.. Now this discussion is over..
The Xbox does have better games, but the online experience is full of idiot fanboys such as yourself.

If you don't mind people like this talking to you in every game, stay with the Xbox.

If you do mind, and want to escape from this, either play a PC game or get a PS3 and play M.A.G. coming out soon. 256 player battlers, I believe it was? Giant maps, great fun looking. My friend was in the beta and I'm seriously considering getting a PS3 for this game.

Uncharted 2...enough said...but, just in case it wasn't enough, I'll list a couple of other things.
inFamous (This game is one of my favorites of 2009)
Demon's Souls (Haven't played it yet, but I have heard a lot of good things about it)
Killzone 2 (If you like shooters then you owe it to yourself to play this game. It is a nice change of pace from MW2)
Blu-Ray Player (If you do not have one already then this is probably your best option)
God of War 3
The fact is, Unchared 2 was a decent, hell, a great, game, but not enough to sell a console by itself. I'd give it 8.5 to 9 out of 10, and it stand as a good action game, but the final boss fight alone is laughable enough to not make it perfect.
Haven't actually played inFamous
Demon's Souls is a great game, but not for the average gamer
KZ2 was an overly generic shooter, I'd give it 6.5 to 7 out of 10.
Blu-Ray is nice
God Of War 3 is also decent, but I wasnt overly impressed by the demo.
People buy the 360 for Halo, why shouldn't they buy the PS3 for Uncharted?

Also, it just comes down to whether you like the exclusives, because I grew up with a PS2, a PS3 was a natural choice.
I don't buy consoles for 1 exclusive, I weighed the differences, and bought both, but if I had to choose just one, and didn't have a gaming PC, I'd get the 360.

The SIXAXIS is nice in it's own right as well. Adds a little bit of control variety.
Hush your tongue. Few games have been produced that have made the SIXAXIS worth a damn.

I love the PS3, but I loved it even more once I got the sense that developers have forgotten this technology exist.

RIP SIXAXIS.

I like the SIXAXIS more than the dualshock 3 controller because it is lighter and I would have turned off rumble anyway. That's about it.
I noticed you didn't say 'because the motion-sensitivity is so awesome'.

Dualshock 3 still has that feature.

But I can't fault your reasoning, if you don't like vibro, then the sixaxis has its advantages... none of which are the SIXAXIS-ness of it.

I don't have PS3 myself, but basically the Blu-ray and some of the good games that are not made for PC but are for PS3, are the main reasons for me to some day possibly purchase one.

You still don't have a PS3? Well, now is a good time to get one imho, since the avalanche of games to be released for it is getting so big that it's hard to keep up anymore.

Near future highlights:

God Of War 3
FFXIII-Non crap edition
Heavy Rain
MGS:Rising
The Last Guardian
Gran Tourismo 5

Past highlights:

Demon's Souls (best game this generation)
Uncharted 2
Infamous
MGS4
Little Big Planet
God Of War HD

Well after owning a 360 for the last couple years and openly mocking the PS3 I finally broke down and bought one. It is a good little piece of hardware. There is some flaws but overall not that bad at all. The controller is comfortable (although it does take a bit to get used to again). The store is wicked. I mean they have so much good stuff in there. And you should know if it has enough exclusives that suit your tastes so I am not going to list them all here. And the controller doesn't require batteries. It is also very quiet.

With that said the interface sucks compared to the 360's. When you buy anything off of PSN you then have to install it (I mean WTF is that?). Same story with games although the newer titles don't seem to require installations as often (from my experience anyways). And instead of getting 1 solid update like the 360 when you put in a new game you get a bunch of small patches. It takes far longer to patch the game than on the 360.

Overall I am glad I am now a 3 console owner and the PS3 fits perfectly in my collection. Just for the simple fact I will never experience that Must Play But Don't Own The Console feeling.

I just think it's a nifty little gimmick. Not a major selling point in the end, but nifty none the less.

Little Big Planet. They pretty much failed advertising it as it came across as simply childish but its SO GOOD. This is from someone who plays RPGs and FPSs
