i'm going to have to be contrary and say that Assassins Creed 1 and Kingdom Hearts 1 were the best in their respective series.

how did you get that AC I can understand (I guess) but KH1 was no way near the level of KH2 please do explain.

I don't know, really. I loved both games a ton. I was just kind of more involved in KH 1's story (it gets so unintelligible in the second one) and I also thought it was more difficult in the perfect kind of way; very rewarding to defeat tough bosses (although it sucked that you couldn't skip cutscenes).

Still, both are 5 star games.

And I don't give a fuck what anyone says, ME 1 was THE best fucking game I have ever played, while ME 2 just felt like a shitty, shallow Gears of War clone, only with awesome cinematics and dialog.

ME 2 was to ME 1 what GTA IV was to GTA San Andreas, merely a husk of what the previus game in the series was, in terms of gameplay diversity, content and FUN, a DOWNGRADE, and it should be THE OTHER FUCKING WAY AROUND.

You don't fucking SIMPLIFY a sequel, removing all the things that made the first game awesome, just so that console morons can play it, you ADD SHIT TO IT!

Whoever thinks otherwise is not worthy of the title of "gamer".

I don't think Edzor realised that ME1 was on the 360 before it was on PC, so ME2 was not being dumbed down for the "console morons", it is being dumbed down because people wanted it to be.

I think with video games that even better sequel tends to be the rule rather than the exception.
Most video game sequels atleast attempt to fix all the shit that didn't work in the original.

I disagree with L4d2, I was so much more addicted to the first one. Yes, overall l4d2 was nicer looking and had alot more features but, it lacked the magical thing that made me hooked on to l4d.

Kingdom Hearts as many people pointed out above, is better than the first (dual keyblades FTW!). Also, I felt Mass Effect 2 was by far better than the first. Oh and also Team Fortress 2.

Assassins Creed 2 was better than Assassins Creed 1. Bit obvious, but yeah.

No. No it wasn't. By the time you've:
a) stealthed your way through the Terms and Conditions;
b) fought your way through needlessly large numbers of DRM procedures; and
c) assassinated the account creation procedures on every website and forum you can get an account for,
what's the point of actually playing the game?! You've pretty much beaten it on 'insane difficulty' mode already....

OT: I'm also for ME2 being better than ME1. I thought KotOR2 was better than KotOR1 as well (although I'm prepared to admit the possibility that some people don't agree). Also, there's pretty much no argument that Warcraft 2 was better than WC:O&H, and WC3 was better than WC2.

Do you mean all that crap on the PC version? I was kinda talking about the, you know, game part of the game.

I never really got to the "game part of the game". Having watched my mate try to get it running, I decided that for the sake of my (limited) sanity, I would avoid AC2 like the plague.

As such, it's pretty clear to me that the PC gameplay (non-existant, since you can't have any) was significantly worse than AC1 (which was pretty easy to install and, even with all the flaws, still pretty good).

Can't speak for consoles....
