@Emurlahn: But Catman is a two syllable word, like Batman, and unlike Spiderman.

Edit: Vote incoming.

In other news, I have two potential RPs that I'm working on. Would anyone be interested in either:

1) A Warhammer 40,000 thread, in which an Inquisitor and his team uncover a Chaos plot to bring about the manifestation of a daemonic primarch?

or 2) A Magic: The Gathering RP, in which our characters are planeswalkers who land on a world about to plunge into planetary war? This world is untouched by the hands of other planeswalkers; through random chance, we are the first ever to discover this plane.

@Fragrance: I figure you might like the idea of an MtG RP. It's based on the set I'm working on, and is meant to accompany it (though I have no idea if the RP will become part of the set's canon lore).

@CA Oooh, you can definitely count me in for the MtG RP. Between Commander and the new Modern format, I've been in a Magic mood lately so that'd be right up my alley.

@Fragrance: It's not Commander, it's EDH. It has always been EDH. [/fanboy]

Also, I'm not too big a fan of M12. Just waiting for Innistrad to roll out now while I work on my set.

But seriously, I've put a fair bit of detail into both RPs. With the MtG RP, our characters would be planeswalkers with access to a fair few spells pertaining to our chosen colour/s. I haven't figured out how powerful the planeswalkers will be yet spell-wise, but I know some of the basics: no more than three colours per person - even then, three is stretching it - and our spells would be similar if not identical to those found on cards. It'll be interesting to see how the mechanics of Magic transfer into written work.

@CA Yeah, M12 kinda sucks. Last time I ever buy a box of a core set... I did manage to pull the new Jace though. Innistrad should be pretty good though. And I heard a rumor that the block after that will be a return to Ravnica which should be pretty sweet as well.

That sounds like it'll be awesome. I'll have to start thinking up some good ideas for a planeswalker to use. I suppose most of the mechanics will be pretty straightforward like burn, kill spells, summoning creatures and the like. And mill/discard would be like erasing memory. Not too sure how one would write out the effects of mana ramp spells or card drawing spells though.

@CA: If you're starting a Warhammer 40K RP, I'm in. Though I'd have to warn you that all I know about 40K is from Dawn of War I and II, source books and novels, rather than actually having played the miniature games.

@Nukey: Oh, just some Art Institute in NC. Their methods are unsettling due to not being as much of a college as others are, but at least there's bros everywhere.

EDIT: And I'm not dead! Yay!

You got Jace, Memory Adept? Dayum... I wish they'd reprinted Liliana, though Sorin does cover their need for a black planeswalker. Also, Sorin was a good pick since he'll be out of standard decks with the release of Innistrad.

So Hook, Line and Sinker might be returning to Ravnica... awesome. I could go for a fresh update of my Rakdos-themed deck.

Card-drawing spells are usually themed around gifts of wisdom and intelligence, or focusing the mind (Concentrate, Counsel of the Soratami). I figure that wouldn't be too difficult to pull off. Depends on the spell. I shall have to do some research on the MtG Salvation wiki before opening the RP.

Alright, I'll keep that in mind. Which books have you read? For the purposes of this RP, I recommend the Eisenhorn and Ravenor trilogies by Dan Abnett, so people get a feel of how Inquisitors and their teams operate.

@Schizzy: EEEY!! Keep your hands of my hat.

*puts on hat again*

@CounterAttack: Sounds interesting. Keep me updated, will ya?

I've read Ravenor - Dan Abnett, and played quite a lot of MtG, so both are just up my alley.

@Icarion: I know! It's really exciting.

@CA: I've read some of the Horus Heresy stuff. Have yet to get my hands on the rest of them. Hammer of the Emperor was next on my list.

Admittedly, I've read more fanfics than the actual books so far. *Rubs hands squeamishly*

But by the good authority of many fans, the ones I've read were pretty spot on the W40k canon.

I'll see about picking up Eisenhorn and Ravenor :)

I just remembered that I've played some Epic 4k back in my heydays, and am probably one of the few surviving people that had played the first Space Hulk PC games (okay, maybe I'm not THAT old).

@Emurlahn: That'll learn ya!

I'd love to join the Warhammer one, but the only experience I have is a 585-point starter army and a 30 minute trial of Dawn of War 2.
