@Nouw: Thing is, though, I don't want to go to the Avatar Store for it. An avatar made up of my characters would be important to me (on the Escapist at least), and I'm honestly not sure who I can think of that I can trust to get it all right.

@Nouw: :D
...
I know the "low content rule" doesn't really apply here, so I'm gonna post another random video:

@CA: I see. The creative process is very important, like in writing too!

@WarPenguin: No, no, not the bees >.>! Pretty cool video.

@Nouw: Precisely. Only in this case, it has to be even more than precise. Like, exactly how I see each of my characters in my mind made manifest on page or screen.

@CA: It'd be awfully convenient if you could do it yourself xD. That's always an option too.

@Nouw: I've been wondering for ages now, what exactly is the wall thing about?

On another random note, you know what sucks about being unemployed and ill? When you wake up at a normal time, you get amazingly bored until the less sucky daytime TV comes on. :/

@Red Sky: Oh, come on. Sucky daytime TV is the best. I wish I could spend my time today watching terrible talk shows and questionable soap operas.

Beats going to class at least. >.<

@Sky: When is there not sucky daytime TV? Half the time if I have the misfortune of being awake at that time, I end up watching King of Queens reruns. The other half, I bang my head on the coffee table until I pass out again.

@Neo The best time be awake is for the Price is Right. So many sick days spent watching that while eating chicken noddle soup.

@Neo: Ah, I remember when I used to watch King of Queens. I don't get the right channels for that now though, so I have to wait until 3:30pm when Desperate Housewives comes on...

@Day Time TV: I haven't watched an actual TV show in a long time. The only thing I really watch is ESPN >.>

@Sky/Daytime TV: Yeah... there's nothing good on the NZ airwaves right now. I'm mostly waiting for the fourth season of Castle to start up. =/

@Sky/Daytime TV: Were I in that situation, that's usually the point where I decided to go back to sleep. :p

There's nothing worse than being trapped in your house and having nothing to do. I'm the same situation. D:

Also, people still watch TV altogether? I only watch one show and even then I always forget about it and hardly watch it.

@Nouw: I have the first two seasons on DVD, and I've read the first book... which was okay, but not what I would expect from someone hailed as a (fictional) literary genius.
And yes, we do need Monday Night Castle back... even if it's at 9:30. I'm surprised Criminal Minds has the 8:30 slot. =/

@CA: I haven't read the book quite yet but I was surprised when I saw it next to mine while looking through the requests shelf at the Albany library. Well it's hard to live up to the expectation if the hype starts.

9:30 or 8:30, I just want it back. It's something I looked forward to every Monday night.

There?s nothing. Just an empty void.

I?ve only been gone for a month, but it feels like I?ve been here for an eternity. Time doesn?t exactly fly by when there?s nothing to do.

A faint white light appears in the darkness. It grows brighter and brighter, until I am blinded.

A comforting voice calls out from the light. Kinda sounds like Keith David.

?It is time. Fate has played your role.?

RaN: ?What??

A shockwave rings through the void, knocking me unconscious.

---

I wake up in the back of a van. I am chained to a chair. My hands are cuffed behind my back. A flashing light glows under my skin. A Hi-Power is holstered on my right thigh.

I scream for help. No one can hear me.

I struggle against the chains, but they're on tight. I look in front of me. A portrait of a young woman is painted on one door. A leather jacket hangs on the other.

The radio turns on. A harsh voice conveys the message. Kinda sounds like Gary Oldman.

?Fate has played your role. In less than one hour, the bomb inside your chest will detonate.?

?Regardless of what you do today, you will die.?

?Follow your destiny Arbiter. Kill her.?

RaN: ?Oh, this is going to suck.?

The chains and handcuffs unlock themselves. I pull them off and stand up. I grab the jacket and put it on.

I hop out the back. The doors shut and the van takes off.

I head into a diner and sit down. My hands are shaking.

Waitress: ?What?ll you have, hun??

RaN: ?Coffee. Please.?

I look out the window. The streets are crowded. Hard to spot anyone in that crowd. How am I supposed to find one girl in a city like this?

The waitress hands me my coffee. I down half of it on the spot. It burns my throat, but it feels good just to feel again.

I spot the girl sitting in front of me.

RaN: ?[small]Shit.[/small]?

I hesitate for a moment. I could nab her and end it now. Then again I could get as far away from town as I can before the fireworks start.

Fuck it. I?m dead either way.

I grab the girl by the arm and slam her down to the floor. I draw my gun and press it in the back of her neck.

RaN: ?You?re coming with me.?

Girl: ?Okay, okay.?

We head outside. I fire two shots in the air. The crowd scatters.

RaN: ?Walk.?

We head for the boardwalk.

RaN: ?What?s your name??

Skye: ?Skye.?

RaN: ?Nice name. Sorry Skye. But you have to die.?

Skye: ?I know how it works.?

The edge of the boardwalk hangs over a cliff. It?s a 50 foot drop to water below. Skye panics.

Skye: ?Wow. That's... high.?

Three police cruisers and an armored car pull up behind us. Several S.W.A.T officers in riot gear hold us up with automatics. The patrol cops take cover behind their cars.

I grab Skye from behind and press the barrel to the side of her neck.

RaN: ?Stay back.?

Captain: ?Drop the gun! Let the girl go!?

RaN: ?You don?t understand! She-?

*bang*

A .357 bullet drills through my skull. Skye slips out of my arms as I fall off the side of the cliff. She falls to the floor.

*beep*

Officer: ?BOMB!?

The officer runs over to Skye and shields her. The bomb detonates, sending water and shrapnel a hundred feet high.

They look over the edge.

Officer: *panting* ?Close call, huh??

Skye is speechless.

---

Half a mile away, the killer ejects the cartridge from his Henry rifle. Satisfied with the kill, the figure leans the rifle on the wall next to the windowsill and leaves the apartment.

As he walks away from the building, he pulls out a remote and flicks the switch. The room explodes in a gulf of fire, erasing evidence of his presence there.

---

I awaken in the void.

Dead again.
