@Demagogue I know what you mean. My round was short-lived, but it was certainly entertaining to watch the accusation war on Gritch, especially knowing what was going on.

Well no, I accidentally said it too early. I forgot that I had to wait until second cycle. I then saw Aero's post right after mine mentioning it. I edited it out, but then I decided it was too likely someone had seen it AND I had quoted gritch.Armadox said:Oh geez, one sec.. *rolls his dice of alignment*Zeconte said:crazy town...
True neutral. Well, since I have no position, and we know who the spy and priest are so there is no reason to lie about being one of them to protect them. I made those posts without actually paying any sort of attention to what was happening. Also, I am slightly offended at you using those posts as accusation. Wouldn't you think I'd be a little more savvy to protecting myself then blatantly oust myself in the first post? Who do you think I am?! Demagogue?
Ok, personally I'm wondering if Secondhand Revenant is really the priest. That seems pretty reckless to just toss out such a claim to a bunch of people on pm for no reason. Why even worry about sending out a message at all? The spy was already shown to be the spy, so if I was the priest I'd shut up like the spy's 1-up that I am until I can use my power. Secondhand Revenant doesn't sit well with me, and I'll be honest, I'm considering voting for him. Nothing adds up with his claim.
They could still vote silently. Not very fun in my opinion unless it's some kind of strategy though I think it would be a dangerous one because it makes them stand outZeconte said:I'm kind of of that mind as well, which is why I made a point to call them out. Especially in the early stages, this seems like the most "fair" thing to do, if we don't have a solid suspect and just need to pick at random, weeding out the people who don't seem all that enthused/willing to participate seems to be the way to go. It annoys me when people sign up for a game like this and then don't play. Though I am really confused how two people were put down as players without them even having posted in the thread.Pseudonym said:For the time being, I think I'm just going to vote for one of the silent people. Trying to find out who the killer is, is easier if at least everyone speaks. Gives the bad guys more chances to slip up while we wait to hopefully get our spy back and get some real information.
I mean, the argument can be made that "well, what if they're a power role?" Well, what if they are? If they're not posting, not willing to defend themselves, what reason do we have to believe that they'll even use their role anyways? Though, some gm's will auto kill anyone who doesn't post after so long, so some clarification on these points would be nice.
@Demagogue: Is there a reason DoPo and snekadid are listed as players even though I can't find a single post from them in the thread? And do you auto kill players for inactivity?

You mean like announce that someone was saved that ONLY the killer and GM would know? *oopsface*Pseudonym said:For the time being, I think I'm just going to vote for one of the silent people. Because they signed up when we were getting started. I'm kind of surprised DoPo hasn't said anything as he's usually pretty active he could just be having a busy weekend/week so far. Depending on where he lives there are holidays at the start of July. Same goes for snekadid.Zeconte said:@Demagogue: Is there a reason DoPo and snekadid are listed as players even though I can't find a single post from them in the thread? Also, if for some reason we don't get enough votes by the end of 2 days there is this rule:When a player fails to vote within the full 48 hour voting time in 3 cycles in a row, said player will be kicked from the game. If they had a role, it will be passed on to a random, alive player. This also does not count as an execution or murder.
which would kill off one of the non-voters as well. For this round we need 13 votes to ensure this rule didn't kick in.The game's voting has a strictly enforced time limit. All participants have TWO DAYS at absolute most to cast their votes. If votes do not reach 65% in participation, the Killer will be spared, and a random non-voted person will be killed off instead.
I will point out this is his first game. Other more veteran players *cough* Demagogue[footnote][sub]I <3 you, man...[/sub][/footnote] *cough* have made just as bad mistakes. And if he IS the Priest voting for him would be probably the worse thing we could do. If he's not the priest it'll become apparent rather quickly after the real priest revives Scars... and then we can kill him.Armadox said:Ok, personally I'm wondering if Secondhand Revenant is really the priest. They're online, but are they posting? Like I said, I'm fairly certain my profile is online 24/7 due to my cellphone.Zeconte said:Indeed, but it would seem @snekadid: was on earlier this morning and @kingofkumquats: and @DoPo: are both online now, so none of them seem to have the busy with life excuse.Secondhand Revenant said:They could still vote silently. They could also just be busy with life, though I suppose if they're posting elsewhere on the Escapist that would be unlikely.
And yeah, I just don't like people who don't post in such games. Most of the fun is in the participation, and the less people who participate by posting, the less fun it tends to be. I've seen far too many games like this die because only a small handful of people are posting, so I'm rather biased against lurkers and non-participants.
Yeah I get where you're coming from. I'd just give them some time. Though voting for them right now is a fair solution since if they don't join in then by round 3 we suddenly lose people, making them potentially riskier for us to keep alive than anyone else. So offing them is a sort of bide our time until our spy comes back strategy.Zeconte said:Indeed, but it would seem @snekadid: was on earlier this morning and @kingofkumquats: and @DoPo: are both online now, so none of them seem to have the busy with life excuse.Secondhand Revenant said:They could still vote silently. They haven't posted since the 25th it says. Alright, you've convinced me. I'll pick someone else. Also, how often do you have an evil arbiter? I mean, I was[footnote] says Frappe, even thought I was chaotic rather then evil, and picked my target randomly...[/footnote], but then again, the absolute amusement that came from my actions was more then well worth the price of admission. I'd bet against the arbiter or the trickster trying their hand at ruining the priest on account of the game. It honestly makes no sense for him to pretend to be the Priest maliciously. If he's on the side of the Killer the best he could do is draw a potential protection away from the Medic which is still no guarantee that the Priest will get killed. It barely even increases the odds of killing the priest. As soon as the Priest is then revealed either through being killed or using his ability he'd have his cover blown immediately. What the hell would be the point?
Save your vote. Pick someone else and your suspicions will resolve themselves on their own.
Don't worry, you're not going to offend me. I get your mentality. I tend to play loud and rampant in these games, and I'm usually the loudest when I don't actually have anything up my sleeve (being the entwined in the first game for instance had me posting all the time because I knew it was moot if I was alive or dead). I'm also not the killer, because Frappe is still alive.Zeconte said:Also, don't get too offended, I didn't really think they were that suspicious, but in light of all the other filler posts everyone else has been making, they were the only ones to stand out as something that could mean something being passed off as a joke (I've seen people use the whole "joke to be the killer to make people think they're not the killer" tactic before). But mostly, I just needed something to get the ball rolling on some kind of discussion. Not many people seemed all that interested in suggesting targets or getting people talking about the actual game and who to vote for/not to vote for.Armadox said:Oh geez, one sec.. *rolls his dice of alignment*Zeconte said:crazy town...
