Warcraft. It was wonderful all the way up to WC3, and then Blizzard fucked it up. I can't say that I like warcraft without people thinking that I'm some friendless misanthrope. Blizzard, just wrap it up, and come up with something new, because we will never forgive you for what you have done to one of the greatest RTS's of the last 20 years.
i agree with you completly

I agree with just cutting back on the amount of WWII games that have been coming out. And also I would advise all rights to developing Call of Duty games are left only in the hands of Infinity Ward, Treyarch is just a joke of a studio.

Final Fantasy went to the drain after the creator left the franchise, which is why 11 and 12 suck so bad. Lost Odyssey while being essentialy FF was better than FF 9, 10, 11 and 12 combined.

Shitty parody movies. Fucking stop it, the only good one since Airplane! and Airplane 2! The sequel! was Scary Movie 2. You're not going to amke another good one. Stop it! Stop it!

Not a series, but stop making trilogies, you assholes. You're not going to hit on the success of Halo. Just make one incredibly long game. People will fucking thank you for it.

Stop stealing British TV shows. Fucking seriously, how will it be until we have some asshole trying to play The Doctor?

Final Fantasy. Your games suck, Square. Stop it.

Medal of Honor. No more WWII games. "nuff said.

Any Call of Duty game that doesn't take isn't modern or near future. I don't mind a flash back level or two, but it had better damn well not be somehow taking place in WWII.

Grand Theft Auto. You had your chance boys, and you failed. Make something new.

First Person shooters focused around multiplayer, not single player. As well as a lack of co-operative play.

Also, how do you stop a game with no ending? WoW will be continued to be made because people will continue to play it. They'll make expansions every few years unless Diablo III stabs it in the heart as fast as you can click a mouse button.

You do know that Halo is concluded, right? It's a trilogy. IF there was a Halo 4, which ther eisn't, they would have announced it by now.

Final Fantasy slipped a bit with 10 but 12 is amazing, lets see what they do with 13 and maybe cut back on the spinoffs.

Final Fantasy, because 13 looks like its taking the awesome FF12 battle system that actually makes killing shit fun (unless you're some lazy ass who puts gambits on everyone and does diddly squat because you powerleveled yourself) and tacked on a plot mushed together from the other games (with TOTALLY MORE POLITICS! Seriously Square, I don't care). Please Square, quit before you turn out some deadly rotten shit.

Also, some people make me wonder when they say they want FF games to disappear when they don't even like RPGs. It's like when you have pie and are starving, but since you hate pie you won't eat it.

Legend of Zelda should probably hurry up and end now too before they decide to either drawl on with the same old thing or do something so dramatically different that it's shit.

Pokemon... See above. If I want the same old thing, I'll play the same old game.

Halo, because since it's a massive cash cow they're bound to make another one.

Baten Kaitos... The only reason the first game makes me squee in happiness is the fact that I play as a total asshole (though technically not playing as Kalas, but who really gives a flying fuck?). Soon as you lose the asshole, the game loses appeal for me. Now keep you're sequel on the other side of the ocean cause I didn't even wanna see the prequel.

Tales of Symphonia. Don't replace non-emo with massive emo, ever. It pisses people off. I may bother to play it, but I'll rat on emokid the whole way through.

Devil May Cry. There should have never been a 4th one. Not many may like 2, but I did moreso than 4. At least 2 lets me pwn shit with the DT and roll around like a child on crack.

What is with the final fantasy hate? Yes, saying that the plots characters and enviroments are a bit samey is an understatement of the same proportions as "Ok, so maybe Blood rayne isn't movie material".

However, they seem to be one of the few series that change how the gameplay mechanics work every once in a while. Yeah it's still an rpg, but they keep changin the ways in which battles are fought (I think they threw away the whole random battles thing and went for a realtime(ish) approach in the mot recent one.)

At least give em some credit for at least attempting to change their game design in sequels.

Yeah, because im sure that the whole recon thing they seem to be doing isn't a the first in a line off spin off's to milk the halo cash cow while bungie try to hire some people with at least a wee bit off originality/inventiveness.......

Indeed, since lots of longtime series don't try at all. The plot changes at least, unlike Zelda (which has gotten under my nerves lately). X-2 was a joke. The point is, it's an RPG, WHAT DO YOU EXPECT? FPS? Go buy one then.

When people say it's dead, when did it die? Usually they never liked them in the first place or passionately hate 10 or something without considering that there's games afterwards. I'm currently playing 12 and while I spend half my time trying to find some jugs on Vaan since that cannot be a male, the battle system is fun. Try not setting everything to gambits? The system reminds me of ToS, which is equally active give or take. My only gripe is that you need to stop from the story to level (and the hunts are genuinely challenging unless, again, you plvl).

Family Guy, its dead, get over it Seth.

South Park, with every episode trying to be more vulgar or shocking than the last one, it just isn't funny anymore.

The Simpsons, I was addicted to this show, but new episodes are atrocious, the cold, heartless approach to humour killed the show, along with the fact that it was too fucking long.

Halo, I don't give a damn about fans or prepubescent FPS junkies, but please, using biblical symbolism in names doesn't make your cliche, generic story any better Bungie. And for God's sake, who thought it was a good idea to write novels about it, what a waste of literature.

Medal of Honor, you guys had a good run, I liked being able to be a D-Day soldier, but its over, seriously, WWII FPS' have almost nothing left, unless you're fighting the Japanese or playing as the Russians.

Mario, no explanation necessary

Final Fantasy, weird cross-dressing protagonists aside, this is a good series, but it needs to quit while it's ahead.

Star Wars, I love Star Wars to an obsessive degree, but seriously, the Clone Wars? I didn't even need to see it to know that it was George Lucas making another cash-grab and trying to snag a new generation of fanboys while he was at it. Let the series die for a bit, let the tension build up, and drop the bomb just when people are clamoring for a new one.

Fable, its decent at best, and annoyingly cliche at worst, don't go rushing for a new one quite so soon, take some time to refine mistakes that have been around since Fable 1, and keep Peter Molyneux from convincing all of gamerdom that his game is the second coming of the Messiah.

Inheritance, Paolini, I don't know where you came from, but my God can you stop writing your pretentious fantasy novels, we all know that Eragon is a self-insert of you, and that when you aren't vomiting egregiously unnecessary words and description into our faces that you're busy making Star Wars into Lord of the Rings.

Actually, you're wrong. Halo Wars and Halo 3 Recon. Sure it's not CALLED Halo 4, but its a sequel.

I noticed on the first page of this thread several people mentioned South Park, yet Dancingman is the only one to give a reason why. Seeing as how South Park is one of my favorite shows, I'm curious why so many people seem to hate it. Yes, it's vulgar. Yes, it's crude. But they tend to stay fairly up to date with real world happenings and make fun of them. I think it's fucking hilarious, personally. But I also love satire.

Also, Dancingman, by any chance is your name taken from Dancing man in the show "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia?"

ok. they get some credit for an ATTEMPT at creativity, but the reality is that they churn out the same crap over and over and over and over. sure, they try to change SOME of it, but if you build a car that looks exactly like a Honda Civic except with a different interior, you're pretty much just re-releasing a honda civic under a new name. if square had some creativity left for story lines, character designs, plot twists, graphic styles, etc then I might be able to work with the final fantasy series, but as it is they're just driving it into the ground with re-hashed crap over and over and over and over and over and over and.....

*EDIT* Almost forgot Halo and anything related to World War II

I wouldn't of minded that last comment about World war 2...Wait yes I would have, Though it should be toned down in the game industry. But I think you should shut up and be a little more though full for those who fought and loss they're lives for the allied nations. But what really pisses me off is the fact you had the sheer fuck-tardery to post that just one day from REMEMBRANCE DAY(A day that honours the sacrifices of those who died in World War 1). You know the day where we honour the troops who fought tooth and godam nail for they're country in conditions only comparable to the poorest parts of 3rd world countries. Though that is in World War one It still relates to world war two. Of course like you would care about 62 (or so) Million people dying. Not to be over-patriotic but at which point did you think World War 2 had been around long enough? Is there a certain point where we stop caring about 62 million people dying? can humanity be that selfish? (I doubt it). Seriously show some respect to the fallen members of combat. Or are you too important to honour millions of dead? You better create a cure for cancer before you can post that verbal shit-sickle again.

Simpsons
Mario
Sonic
MegaMan
Oh my yes, how dare he post his displeasure at the influx of WWII related games in the industry only one day before remembrance day? The gall.
Oh, and your point about when has WWII been around long enough to "stop caring" about those who had fallen. Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but somehow i don't think you would stop to often to remember the men and women who had died fighting the Roman empire, Grecian empire among many other empires. Have they been dead long enough to stop caring?
Or, are you too important to stop caring about the millions men, women and children who had died fighting and murdered in cold blood.
Yes.
Also the constant use of WWII and the bloody American view of the war is getting pretty damn dull and unoriginal to tell about, and has only made me more interested in the other perspectives of WWII.

For example, I would gladly play a game from the Japanese perspective.
After all, the Americans had camps made for Japanese people that much resembled the Auschwitz camps, and the Americans did drop a fucking nuke on them.
I would also like to play from the Germans perspective, seeing as most of them didn't know that they were the "bad guys", I would like to see their whole perspective on the war and exactly why they did what they did without too much questioning.

Recon is actually a prequel, or a tangent plot.

And besides, nothing was ever said about not making a Halo 4. Only that Halo 3 concluded the story ark.

How many fracking times am I going to explain that? This makes 8 I think.

EDIT: Oh, and I think reality shows in general should die or at least be constrained to a couple shows active at the same time. The reason is that it discourages actually TV shows from being made, not that they aren't entertaining (although I generally avoid watching them).
