Seriously, HOW do people find "I did your mom" jokes funny?

I really don't think that they are funny at all. People who think they're funny need to grow up. Plus there's also a chance that their mom died or something and then it becomes awkward for the person who told the joke that would have been better off not told.

It depends on the timing/situation/how delivered/smart
All that needs to be said on the matter really. All jokes are like this: they need good delivery and context to be funny.

And what you just stated? No "your mom" joke will EVER top that.

I can't stand 'your mom' jokes. Whenever someone makes one I just look at them all sad and say "my mom has lupus you ass, leave her out of this" and when they look like they're just about to die of shame I bust out laughing. And then feel bad myself cause she really does have lupus.

I find the people who use "jokes" like this are the retarded people looking for popularity and feel superior by saying this because they can't think of any other "witty" thing... I just hate it when people say that to me...a perfect response to them would be like "my mum, she died a horrible death..." one of my friends said this before and the other guy just shut up, looked really guilty and walked away, hehe

when someone says "Yer mum" to me i think it just translates as "You got me there, im unable to think of an intelligant retort so im gonna go for a cheap joke in the hope that it offends you, good day."

'As the actress said to the bishop' is always going to be the best joke of that vein.

Also, I've now moved on to 'the Beef's mother' jokes rather then 'your mother' jokes. Making fun of la Beef brings a new level of humour to a stale genre.

This. It's the tofu of jokes, it can be molded to suit any situation.
Like your mom

OH

Anyone who didn't see that coming deserves to be shanked
Ok that was funny, it depends on who delivers it, a fellow escapist is someone you like so you will be inclined to be friendly with them, some random 6 year old on runescape however, absolutely not.

[small]I don't play runescape, that was ages ago[/small]

It depends. Some Yo Momma jokes are extremely funny because they have a slightly offensive side to them. Or just borderline over the line. Granted, most Yo Momma jokes are either overused or not funny, but the show entitled Yo Momma has had some pretty good ones :>

Episode 1: From The Mary Whitehouse Experience

DB: Welcome to History Today.
Er with me, in the chair today, is Professor F.J Lewis, Emeritus Professor of History at All Souls College, Oxford. And we will be talking about British History between 1931 and '37 - the Austerity Years, and principally the effect that rationing had on changes in government at that time.
Professor Lewis, I wonder what you feel the nexus of cause and effect to be here.

RN: See that Eddie the Eagle Edwards?

DB: Yes.

RN: That's you, that is. That's your mum.

Best. Sketch. EVER.

There's a nice selection of "your mom" jokes in these videos (used by MC, mostly). I think the joke is the funniest when used in a situation where it's not at all applicable. "That's what she said" jokes are also funny when overused.
