When I had a Ps3, I used it once for like 15 min and after that got bored, but playing the flying saucers was fun lol.
Now that I think of it, I think you and I have been on this ground before way back when the "beta" came out. You're still on my PSN friend's list I think lol although I haven't seen you in a coon's age.Jumplion said:HOME is an interesting application with horrendous application of the application (if that makes any sense at all). It's not something you're supposed to spend hours of your day on, just something you play with every now and again to check up on what's going on.
Unfortunately, HOME is still plagued with some problems that have yet to be fixed, and is it even out of "beta" yet? You have to download every. single. damn. room. and whenever there's an update you have to do it again. This horribly restricts the HOME world and just makes it seem artificial.
I'm sure there are plenty of people who still use HOME, but personally I haven't used it for months. And this is coming from a self proclaimed Sony fanboy here, supposedly #1, and even I think that HOME was a waste of potential.
Games? Maybe this is worth a second look. I remember a couple trial versions of like icebreaker and echochrome and the chess and flying saucers, but that was pretty much it? The bowling I never got a chance to play because EVERYONE was always on them.poiuppx said:I use it now and then. The games are pretty fun- and most of them are free -and it's a nice little stress-break to enjoy now and then. Yeah, it's not as polished as a full-sized game, but hell, the basic element of just USING it is a free bonus for having a PS3 and online access. I don't see why it seems to inspire such loathing. If it's not your cup of tea, one assumes you have some full-sized games on your shelf you can enjoy instead.
Depends on where you go to. Carnival games, mini-golf, space shooters, hover-tanks, trivia games, a wide array of poker options... seriously, if you've got a PS3 and an internet connection, go on over and take a look around. Mind you, the carnival is sort of a weird example; some games open up for brief free plays to allow for a shot at them, but most of the time if you want to enjoy them, you'll be plunking down a few bucks for a bunch of tickets to play them. Sort of like a real carnival in that sense. But hell, for about $2 I got a few hours of fun out of the whole mess and scored some interesting Home swag.HyenaThePirate said:Games? What else do they have?
I am reminded of the woman who tried to sue for rape when someone used of the crouch emote behind her. Ahhhhhhhhh...... good times.Ti said:I did, but I always tend to attract stalkers.
That's a pretty big way of saying "HOME had potential, but Sony fucked it up!"HyenaThePirate said:snip
I know some other people have already said some, but Halo Reach had you unlock the SPARTAN helmets and armor for your avatar for getting certain medals in multiplayer, getting achievements, and completing the campaign on certain difficulties.HyenaThePirate said:I had no idea! What other games did this on the 360, do you know?ejb626 said:Actually there are avatar awards on the 360, e.g if you complete all the campaigns on expert in L4D2 or something like that you get Ellis' shirt for your avatar etc. So Microsoft didn't miss the boat.
OT: I don't because I don't have a PS3
Same here and by now it should have left the beta stage.Osbaldo Alvarado said:I tried it used it for a bit. Looked around. And then walked away forever
Pretty much all post November 2009 games have some sort of avatar award system now.HyenaThePirate said:I had no idea! You mean Halo 3. Halo Reach you have to buy them with credits that you earn when you play multiplayer and do certain challenges, or you unlock them using Halo Waypoint by getting achievements and unlocking certain milestones.ejb626 said:I know some other people have already said some, but Halo Reach had you unlock the SPARTAN helmets and armor for your avatar for getting certain medals in multiplayer, getting achievements, and completing the campaign on certain difficulties.HyenaThePirate said:I had no idea!
