No I mean for your 360 avatar not in-game armor permutations.halo3rulzer said:You mean Halo 3. Halo Reach you have to buy them with credits that you earn when you play multiplayer and do certain challenges, or you unlock them using Halo Waypoint by getting achievements and unlocking certain milestones.ejb626 said:I know some other people have already said some, but Halo Reach had you unlock the SPARTAN helmets and armor for your avatar for getting certain medals in multiplayer, getting achievements, and completing the campaign on certain difficulties.HyenaThePirate said:I had no idea! What other games did this on the 360, do you know?ejb626 said:Actually there are avatar awards on the 360, e.g if you complete all the campaigns on expert in L4D2 or something like that you get Ellis' shirt for your avatar etc. So Microsoft didn't miss the boat.
OT: I don't because I don't have a PS3
Oh... I think you still use Waypoint for those too.ejb626 said:No I mean for your 360 avatar not in-game armor permutations.halo3rulzer said:You mean Halo 3. I got a sweet Sombrero for my avatar for shooting off someone's hat in Red Dead Redemption, I also found a Rockstar T-shirt in a chest somewhere in the wilderness.HyenaThePirate said:I had no idea! Sorry I never responded to this. This is not my main account, but instead an alt account. Voice chat, near as I can tell, was removed a few weeks into the beta because of abuse, yes. It came back as a private area only feature. So if you're in someones private quarters, you can voice chat. But I think it's still offline for all the public areas.HyenaThePirate said:I had no idea there was a community still using this. Is there voice chat still? I remember they had voice chat set up so if you were in proximity to another character, you could hear them talking.Ellen of Kitten said:I jumped into Home for the first time in a looong while. There are still tons of people running around, so yeah, people use it. People are buying digital items, and using the place as a digital chat room or gathering hall. It's used, even if it's not what you'd use it for.![]()
It lasted all of like two days before it was taken offline, due to abuse.
I'm TEMPTED to take a look at it again, but I remember the ABYSMAL load screens.. transferring between each "area" was a pain in the butt, everything was ALWAYS being used with long lines in front of it, and I am NOT going to pay REAL money for VIRTUAL gear. I have NEVER bought anything for my xbox 360 avatar and I never will.
However, it would be nice if a lot of the stuff for avatars were obtainable by accomplishing trophies or whatever. I think both Microsoft and Sony missed the boat on that one.
