I trim up. Started doing it a couple years ago during a very hot summer that I had to do a lot of walking in. It really helped with air flow; one thing to consider, too much hair removed and your balls stick to the side of your leg, which is even worse than lots of hair.

I tried it fully once, but I'm so damn hairy everywhere else I looked like I was wearing anti-underpants. My girlfriend just laughed. I trim occasionally, but its pretty much a forest down there.

I shave with beard trimmers. I think it just looks neater and I suppose it's only courteous if I'm likely to be getting intimate with someone.

[quote/]. For men, that doesn't work as men generally don't see the purpose of suffering pain to look good.

Well since my girlfriend hates to go down on me if I don't at least keep it trim down there I have a pretty good incentive. Because you know . . . Blowjobs >>>>>>> No blowjobs

I don't think I've ever shaved when I've been single though. I don't have man-jungle hair so there doesn't really seem to be a point.

I heartily agree with this. I mean why oh why would I choose to put myself through that much pain when there are perfectly viable and effective alternatives? No sense.

No, shit fucks you - especially the first single hair you pull out. Go ahead. Get some tweezers. Pick a nose hair of choice. Pluck it.

Feels like fun, does it not? When your eyes stop tearing up, go ahead and pluck another one. Wee!

Now, as to 'why?': Because plucking makes things ultra smooth, and once you, your skin and your lizard brain get used to the sensation, it eventually becomes very convenient with very little upkeep. No noisy, whirring machines, no lady stranger that soaks your private parts in hot wax only to rip it all off - while I love waxing, I have still trouble accepting the cunning plan of waxing the naughty bits. Shit could get torn off, no? It just seems to be a very bad idea to me but I never actually bothered to give it a go beyond the legs.

Have done.

Itches furiously and looks kinda odd considering I'm half grizzly bear and coated in fur.

I keep it trim instead, it's easier, more comfortable, etc.

100% more comfort without pubic hair both for sex and everyday life. Shave from time to time and have no problems with it.

Personally never done it, but I was wondering (possibly a lapse of judgement on my part) how many people do it. What does it feel like exactly? Is it less scratchy for one thing? I'm rather apprehensive because I'd like to not slit my balls open by accident.
I used to shave every time I washed, but I've got a bit lazier now. I still shave every time there's any foreseeable chance I might be exposing that area to anyone. Don't worry, you're not going to slit your balls open. Just pull the skin taut across the area you're shaving and don't be too aggressive. Shaving foam also helps if you're really worried. Also, I find women's razors tend to be better designed for shaving body hair, but the difference isn't huge so don't worry too much if you're embarrassed buying them.

The first time you do it, trim your pubic hair first as well. You can do it without, but removing months of pubic hair growth with a razor can be time consuming and can result in hairs being pulled, which hurts..

For those who are getting itching, try shaving in the bath so there's lots of water and moisturizing immediately afterwards, and if that doesn't work use shaving foam. The immediate itching is caused by irritation of the skin which you can avoid by lubricating everything properly. Sometimes its caused by hair growing back too, so you need to shave pretty regularly if you want to avoid it completely. It's never been bad for me though, and I'm prone to eczema flare-ups in that area so going hairy has always been unbearably itchy for me anyway. I always found shaving a huge improvement because it stops sweat getting trapped down there and irritating my skin. One of the reasons I started.

In terms of feel.. it makes the whole area feel more sensitive, certainly. Generally a nice thing, but if you're not used to it you can occasionally stimulate yourself at inappropriate times.

considering i'm a pretty hairy guy to begin with, at most, i trim occasionally. we still have hair there for a reason, keeps the chafing down, and i like to wear boxers, so its often skin on skin and the hair is a good buffer. tried a really short trim once and it felt really weird, and i did end up nicking a ball which both hurt like hell and bled more than expected. it also looked weird with that area trimmed shorter than the hair on my stomach and legs. and it poked my skin growing back, also not that pleasant.

as for the other sex, i'm not picky and don't mind bush. unclean is unclean, shaved, trimmed or natural. i guess it is a little nicer for it to be trimmed, but i'm not a hypocrite either. if she puts up with my hair, i can put up with hers. it also matters less when you're not trying to make an impression, as i'm married. and girls shaved completely can look 'young' if certain body types; i'd prefer a little than none at all.

I keep that shit trimmed, never gone fully shaved, too afraid that the stubble will just tear shit up down there.

I prefer to manage my lawn by keeping it low with a shaver. I've shaved myself bare down there before, and the feeling of my hair growing back was painful and irritating. Never again will I do that (unless/until I get with someone, then it may seem a bit fair if they're doing it as well).

I did it once months ago and had the worst razor bumps of my life. I'm not sure if my skin just sucks, but some of the horrible outbreak it caused is still slightly visible, and it's been like 3 months.

It's still getting better every week, and is nearly entirely gone.
Would not shave down to the grain again, but I've been using an electric buzzer on the pelvis to keep it down pretty good.

Also, never ever ever ever use an electric buzzer on your testicles. I've never done it, but sagely wisdom has been imparted on me that it's a bad idea.
