Kojiro sneered, "Bats on fire? I hope everything isn't that way," He rushed forward to the nearest shadow and sliced into them with his sword. Despite the eat from the fire he stuck with staying close to the enemy, attacking them as Rin's Mabufu spell knocked them to the ground.

When Eber calls Ne-Zha's name into the AMP, the force with which the being burst from his soul both shocked and amazed him. Torrents of wind whipped the burnt and skewered ghosts until they shrieked and fell away.
He smirked and was about to congratulate his teammates when the Shadows burst up from the floor beneath them and attacked, biting and clawing, arms and hands clutching.

"Don't worry! There's a place where the path branches off to a series of tunnels. It's hidden by a ledge, so you can't see it looking straight down." Hikaru alerted you, "The leftmost tunnel is one that Kurado and I haven't yet explored..."

There was something terribly wrong with Yamada, she'd never seen him like that. He looked like he was...fuming. Kumiko was about to voice her opinion on the subject, but she just kept glancing nervously between Yamada, the new shadows, and Eber. "Stay light on your feet, guys!"
Baldr burst forth from her and pointed at the German. "Sukukaja."

Rin wiped the sweat off her forehead and wondered if it was from the fight or just the heat down here. She took a few cautious steps towards the pit and peered down into it. 'Thankfully no monster, but it really does look like it goes on forever.' She turned back towards Kojiro and Isoroku. "Come on lets get going before more of those things show up." Rin shook her head. 'No need to tell them birds that are on fire scare you.'
"Hold on, Rin, lets deiced which way we are going," Kojiro turned to his party, "So, which is it you two? Journey into unknown waters, or stick to the beaten path?" he had a pretty good feeling he knew which one Isoroku was going to pick, but he still asked.
Rin mulled it over for a moment. 'Well what we know hasn't been so bad. But if we want to find something new, then the safe route might not be best.' She shifted back and fourth on her feet. "I um well, the safe route we know. So maybe at least taking a peek at the new route might be best?"
Yamada felt as if he were on fire, more furious than he'd ever been in his life. There were so many things he could be angry about and he couldn't even think of one. It was as if the faces of everyone that had even aggravated him through the week, through his life flashed over those of his enemies. He could hardly even pick one to stab at first. His attacks were sloppy, but vicious. He tore into the shadows with an abandon he'd never before experienced. He didn't even hear himself screaming as he thrust his spear straight into where he assumed would be the heart of one of the shadows, twisting it aggressively before ripping it back out. To him that woman was Mori, it was Isoruku, it was his father, it was his grandfather, it was Kojiro, and it was himself. The loss of control was terrifying, amazing, and all-consuming.
Kojiro gave a nod. "You lead the way then Isoroku. Your gun will give us good range when we spot an enemy coming. Rin stay in the middle of us, since your ice spells wil work the best down here, we can't have you getting jumped or exhausted too soon. And I'll take up the rear."
Kojiro followed behind his friends, the whole place had an eerie red glow, but that did not really make it any easier to see. he kept his flashlight up and his ears alert. But the heat was stifling...
"Hold on!" He had to stop for a moment, he dug into his supplies and pulled out three water bottles, "Here you go. I need a drink." He started to sip from the bottle. "I hate this place..."

Eber jumped back, startled, and let Yukimura have at it with the demons. He didn't know what the hell had gotten into him--but it was worth it.
Several of the attacks missed, but the ones that landed were killing blows. The Shadows melted away into nothingness with only a faint sigh of remorse.

The German very, very carefully stepped closer to Yukimura, his hands up defensively. "...Are you--"
"He's all right." Hikaru said through the amplifiers, "Aren't you, Yamada-kun?"
Yukimura: You feel the rage seep out of you once the Cloudgirls are dead, and you return to your usual state of mind.

You choose to take the unmarked path to the left. The others, you note, have a crude carving of the symbol for 'air'. It appears to be what Hikaru and Kurado chose to indicate tunnels that they have explored--not that you'll be seeing it again for a while.

The tunnel is a breath of fresh air compared to the oppressive heat of The Pit. Well, not entirely fresh air; it still feels stagnant, but it's cool and slightly damp. The further you proceed, it begins to become slick, sloping subtly downwards...

"As soon as we find a normal run of the mill tunnel with nothing in it, that will be odd." Isoroku held only one of his guns, keeping his other hand free in case he needed to brace himself after a sudden fall. "It's not like we've found anything normal down here yet, after all."

Eber rubbed his forehead with a hand as they proceeded: the colors were starting to blur together the more he tried to look at them. The tunnel extended and the group followed it through its winds, using the sides for balance, and came across an opening at the end. It was a door, not one of the doors in the white room and not the blue door of Igor's, but a wrought iron door like it came off the hinges of a prison.
"There's a tough enemy behind it."
Eber looked at the others, but nodded and tugged it open without asking. To turn back now would be a waste. They were ready.
As he opened it, darkness spilled out and congealed into a Shadow.
It took on the guise of an enormous tiger; though it was chained to a heavy boulder, the weight did not seem to inhibit it at all.

As Isoroku spoke and tested the footing of the tunnel ahead, the ground suddenly shifted, recoiled out from beneath them and the three of you shoot downwards on the slippery slide it forms. Should you be self-aware enough during the uncontrolled descent, you notice that the back of your clothes and hair are being coated with slime. The path takes several turns and sharp drops, sometimes of its own accord, and when you finally reach the bottom the room is pitch black and the floor unstable.
"Are you all right?! I heard screaming."
