Eber wasn't certain whether to be flattered or insulted by "Soda Kid". He nodded once, and left it at that. "Kumiko, mon cherie, why such a stern face...?"

Hikaru interrupted Kumiko's reply for the sake of everyone else involved.

"This is Hasegawa Shiori-san. She's joining the security team as of today, and coming with us to the tunnels. She's... Well, she's... like you..."

Kojiro set down his bag and looked from Seiya to Hasegawa to Rin to Seiya.

"Wait wait wait! She has a persona!" He looked back to Hasegawa, "You have a persona!" He crossed his arms and looked back at Seiya, "Is there some chemical in the water at this school or something..."

Shiori was a bit confused by Hikaru's wording. 'Of course I'm like them. I'm a student, aren't I? I mean yeah, I'm not from here, but still...'

It was a lot less clear by the other kid's accusations. Who was it Kojiro? There was no time to wonder. "Wait, what? What are you talking about? Persona? What is that?"

Hikaru's expression told Kojiro that she hadn't actually ruled that out as a possibility...

"A Persona, Hasegawa-san, is that... That being that you summoned in the tunnels."

Kojiro flopped back onto his bag. "You went to the tunnels Hasegawa-senpai? By yourself? That's...kinda cool."

Shiori sat back down in her chair as she realized what exactly they meant. "Oh! Ohhhh! Oh, you mean Ma'at? OK yeah, then I guess I do have a Persona. Yeah, she the one who saved me the other day when that thing attacked me."

And a reply she did have. But Seiya's interruption saved her a bit of possible embarrassment. Hasegawa was just like them. That's why she was here and for no other reason. 'Wait...she's just like us?' and before she could verbally question it, it was answered for her.

"You have a Persona too? Great!" though she had thoughts similar to Kojiro's. There were an awful lot of people who had the power already and it just seemed to be multiplying. Kumiko was kind of excited to have a new member to help them explore, but her placement...where was she going to be put in team wise?

"So wait, everyone here has one?" Shiori asked, still trying to grasp everything about the situation. 'I guess that does explain why I was asked on here. But how did Hikaru know that's what I had?' "Even you, Seiya-san? So that means you knew what was going on with me right? Why were you so against me going to the tunnels then?"

Kojiro smirked, happy to see Hasegawa was just as curious as he was. "She does that...she doesn't want anyone to get hurt..." he looked over at Seiya, "You should have seen what we had to go through to even get this little 'club'."

"Ma'at, eh?" Kojiro put his hands behind his head. "Well, I'm sure everyone will agree, we could use a bit more muscle power, even Seiya-senapi knows it...The shadows are just getting bigger and tougher the deeper we go...Not to mention the tunnels themselves get stranger."

Kojiro's explanation of Hikaru's actions was fairly reasonable. Shiori had to admit that. "Well, Ma'at handled that thing that was trying to barbecue me down there with a little shock therapy, so yeah, if you guys are fighting whatever's down there and we can help in any way, of course. Totally in."

'Did I say we? Wait, that's right isn't it though? Ma'at's a part of me. I can feel it. Yeah. Don't worry about it.'

Kojiro looked at her interested, "A shock? Hey! Quetzalcoatl and I do the same." he gave her a thumbs up. 'I like this girl already.'

Kumiko nodded her head. "Yeah, Seiya-senpai was pretty pissed at us that we went down there. But now that everyone is going, it's a bit more controlled. I don't think anyone would be opposed to more help. It gets a little...crazy in the tunnels."

'So Ishikawa and Hasegawa have about the same sort of power, huh... interesting.'

"Really?" Shiori asked, responding to Kojiro's comment. "That's sweet. I gotta say, when that lightning came out of Ma'at's hand, it was like nothing I had seen before. It was amazing."

'That is so weird, him and I have the same sort of power. Although, who did he say his was? Quazelwhatl? Dad didn't teach me that kind of language. I know that. Still, kinda cool.'

Yamada entered the room tardy. He'd stayed after class reviewing part of the lesson with their teacher just to be sure his notes were right and he was up to snuff. He was in a decent mood despite not being on time, but they were going to the tunnels tonight. He found himself anticipating it more before each of their trips there. It made him feel so alive and real and accomplished.

When he pushed open the door to the room he stared for a moment, stepping inside. There was a girl he'd never seeing discussing lightning that was about the extent he caught. He inclined his head briefly in greeting but his eyes traveled the room to his other comrades to gauge what he could say or why this girl was here.

"Good afternoon. Sorry to interrupt."

He felt odd every time he entered a room during a conversation, but he wanted to hear this one and why she was there.

"Yamada-san," Hikaru smiled in greeting, relieved to have an interruption to the flow of conversation circling her management of the group, "Please meet Hasegawa-san, she'll be joining us tonight. Apparently, her skill is similar to Ishikawa-kun's. Since you're already acquainted, perhaps you'd like to join his team?"

She removed the small briefcase from the locked drawer of the filing cabinet, removing another AMP for the girl. Meanwhile, Isoroku remembered the appointment--when he entered, he shouldered roughly past the prone Yukimura and locked eyes with Shiori.

"...Hey, it's Legs."

"Take this, Hasegawa. You wear it sort of... Sort of like a Bluetooth. It'll help."

"OK," Shiori said, still looking at Isoroku who had just come in. When she actually got the small device, she turned it over in her hands a couple of times. 'Wow, this is....I've never seen anything like this before. Has this even been released yet?'

"Yeah, I can go with Ishikawa-san. Should be no problem at all."

Kojiro smiled, "It will be great to have her along. We could use help, I'm sure, in that factory we'll run into some crazy stuf- uh," he looked over at Seiya, "That is...we would like to check out that portal..."

He shrugged at her, "Figured we should do it sooner than later."

Yamada gave Seiya a brief smile but it turned into a deep frown the moment Yoshida entered and shoved him unceremoniously aside. He thought the newest addition seemed interesting, if not distracted. "It's... Nice to meet you, Hasegawa-san."

His brows furrowed up at the thought of what they may find down there with a new person along. He hated how that part of himself just got more excited at the thought of the danger. The thought of the fight. He wanted one again. He was happy she was joining their team too. He was happy with his team's dynamic at the moment and she seemed to get on with them just fine. He stood not far from Seiya glad still that she'd been happy to see him.

Once the party had been assembled, Hikaru brought them in her sedan again to the seedy bar downtown; on the way, she allowed Hasegawa's new teammates to fill her in on what had been happening in the tunnels, preparing her for the worst they could provide. In truth, she was nervous for Ishikawa's team to return to that building... It was beyond the reach of her ability to sense, and they'd be going in blind. With a green recruit, at that.

"Promise me you'll turn back if you encounter something too strong for you."

She unlocked the door and let them inside.

"Head out!"

'All right. You can do this. You're tough. Fire's got nothing on you. Nothing to be afraid of.'

Shiori was still trying to psych herself back up for this trip. The stories that Kojiro and Isoroku told of the tunnels, of the beasts they had faced and the ominous factory they had found had unsettled her a little bit. She tried not to let it show, but inside she was fairly worried. Hence the self-pep talk.

'Come on. You want to make a good impression, don't you? Show them you're not just some random who ended up with a power she doesn't know how to use, right? Right. OK. Let's kick some ass.'

She held her baseball bat tight as she waited for Kojiro to take the front. She had guessed that he was the leader. No offense to the other two, but Rin didn't seem to be vocal enough to be a leader, and Isoroku didn't seem to be serious enough. As the blackened piece of shaped ash rested on her shoulder, she tried to project a sense of confidence, in that she could keep pace with the group right from the get go. But for the first time in a long time, she thought that she might not be able to handle what was in store.
