Hikaru jumped upon being addressed, turning toward Yukimura, "Oh, Yamada. ...S-Sojutsu, wasn't it? W-Well... I thought that you hadn't signed up this year..." She stopped what she was doing to rifle through the paperwork in her arms, looking for his sheet, "I thought I saw it, but, it isn't here... Wait! He protested, but eventually stood up and followed his friend towards the booths. He signed up for numerous sports clubs: basketball, tennis, soccer, baseball, the swim team, the wrestling team, the track team. If he wound up disliking one of them, he'd drop it instantly. He also had lengthy conversations with the Auto club, but they got into such a fierce argument over German versus Japanese engineering that he left the table without joining. Eventually he sat on the soccer table, manning it and chatting congenially with numerous boys and girls of all three classes, answering the questions and laughing at their jokes.

Kumiko: When you walk inside, it seems as though every shoe locker in the lobby is emanating a strange blue glow. It makes you uncomfortable. When you turn toward the door you'd just entered, it's been replaced by a large, Victorian door, painted a deep, dark blue. On the table beside you, there's a key. You can see it clearly from the corner of your eye, but when you turn your head to look at it directly, it's gone. A moment passes, and everything shifts to be as it should be. Could it all have been in your head?
