Takuya leaned back and laid down on the bed. "I made a comment about the food not tasting like bleach...Yesterday, Fridmund poured bleach into my bag. I don;t know if you smelt in the car...I discovered it after I dropped you off. All of my books, papers, and not to mention the back seat, ruined."

He sighed, "Even now just thinking about it I want to go down there and smack the arrogant little shit in the face until he apologize!" He sat up and frowned. He glanced at Seiya who's troubled looked reminded him he had to keep his cool, or he would lose her. He shook his head,"I'm scarring you, aren't I? Forgive me, I've never been good with my temper, you know?"

All the adrenaline must be throwing off his mental balance, Hikaru told herself. She wished he wouldn't refer to Eber and Kojiro and Isoroku as things like "cheap knock-offs", or "leeches". She wasn't even sure he was aware he was saying it. Maybe Yukimura was right... "M-Maybe," she murmured, twisting the end of her ponytail in her hands, "Maybe the presidency is a little overwhelming..."

-------

Eber chuckled at the look on his face, leaning his head back against the edge of the couch to look up at him, "Reasons? Forgive me, perhaps I am unclear on Japanese etiquette... What are the reasons, exactly?" He grinned, poking fun at him.

He opened his mouth and it felt like his face caught fire. "Y-ya know...uh...ecchi...things. AAAAAH!" Akinari pressed his hands into his forehead and fell back onto the couch, kicking his feet up in the air. He had no other way of saying what he meant aside from being vague once again. "Don't make me say it. I think my head would explode." he laughed at himself. "Though, I am really surprised that a girl like her would be with a huge...huge...jerk like that." he slapped his hand over his mouth, eying the staircase again. "That wasn't very nice of me, haha."

Takuya's face slowly drained of all its emotion. How DARE she, suggest such a thing. He was ready to stand up, to snap at her, to drive her out. But the wheels in his head were turning...running down every possible scenario, every consequence, every branching route before he spoke. And he came to a conclusion.

"You may be right...perhaps at this moment in time, I am overwhelmed. I haven't been feeling well after all..." He extended his hand to her to come sit on the bed. "However, the vice president is a push over...if he takes over, every student will run wild. Someone the student body will listent o should take over for the time being...until I recover."

Someone I can easily control. "What about you, Hikaru? You would make a fine president."

Hikaru came towards the bed but stopped, startled by his words, "Me?! Oh, no, Takuya, I-I don't think I could..." Her? Student Council president? For reasons she couldn't explain, she felt a little rush of pride inside of her. That wasn't like her at all... and yet, it felt so good. "But, you wouldn't be gone long... Maybe not even a month..." She sat down beside him and took one of his hands in hers again, "I'll do it for you, Takuya. If you want me to. I... I know the protocol best of anyone."

-------

Eber burst out laughing, shaking his head at the display, "Ah... Seiya-senpai. When I had first met her, I liked her very much. ...Now I am not so partial. That seems mean to say, does it not? Hm." His eyes flicked back to the television screen, but he'd long since lost interest in the movie; he sat quietly considering the day, wondering whether or not his brawl with Mori put him in danger of being sent back to Germany. Until now he'd doubted it would be more than a slap on the wrist. "...Akinari. What would you wish for, if you could have anything?"

"This is true, Hikaru. And the students are familiar with and trust you...True I may be back soon, but I want you to continue to operate until I fully recover." He reached up and pat her head leaning in close. "And if you should need my help, not that you will, I will give you advice, here and there."

He leaned back and smiled at her. Yes, this was acceptable. Anyone else would try to change things, but he knew Seiya would keep the school on course. And once he told the faculty he was temporarily stepping down, he knew his punishment would be even lighter. Excellent.

Downstairs, Grandfather Mori arrived at the dorms. He did not bother too look at the other students lingering in common room. he held his cane tightly in his fist and proceeded up the stairs to bang on his grandson's door.

As soon as he heard the angry knocking, Takuya stood up and sighed. "Please, excuse me, that will be grandfather..." He opened the door and stepped outside, leaving Seiya alone in his room.

The question sobered him up. He never really considered it. It was a strange question or it was just strange coming out of Eber's mouth. "If I could have anything?" he tapped his chin, sitting back up. "I've never thought about it. Hmmm...maybe for people to not think I'm so strange? Or to be able to--hmm, I really don't know." he shrugged, stumping himself. "There are so many things that I want to be able to do, but I don't know. Why?"

"Oh, of course..." Hikaru stood up and smoothed out her skirt, standing quietly beside his desk and waiting for the conversation (or argument) to finish.

------

"It is nothing." Eber sighed, expecting a more serious answer though he had no reason to. He sat up and stretched, watching a strange old man disappear upstairs. He grinned. "Well, whatever they were going to do up there, they will not have the chance now." Eber pulled himself to his feet and pat the other boy on the head, somewhat condescendingly. "...I am going upstairs. I have homework to do. See you later."

He went upstairs to his dorm room, half hoping to catch a glimpse of the Mori family reunion.

He frowned to no one. "Oh well." he turned off the television and DVD player and tidied up the area. The day had taken such a strange turn. Though Eber was right about needed to do homework. Akinari had completely forgotten.

He walked up the steps and parted ways with him as he turned down another hall to get to his own room.

"What do I want? If I could have one wish..." he chewed on a pencil, neglecting the work in front of him.

Takuya closed the door on Seiya, he knew she would hear the fight, but he planned it that way. He wanted her to really think he was under a lot of pressure form his grandfather.

"You have some nerve, Takuya." His grandfather pointed the end of his cane at his grandson. "Never a moments rest with you! I do not know what has gotten into you but it stops today!"

"Of course, Grandfath-"

"Don't act polite with me, Takuya! I know your faces. Cast them aside when its you and I. This behavior will not do. How can I expect you to take over the family when I'm gone if you are always behaving like a child? Hmn? I cannot keep cleaning up after your temper tantrums. So either real yourself in or I will do it for you."

"...How so?" Takuya asked crossing his arms. "My temper has been fine, a few moments of rage do not constitute you trying to control me."

The old man swung his cane and hit the door behind his grandson; Takuya did not flinch. "I will pull you out of her permanently. I will Takuya. no more fun and games. You work at taking over the family. You settle down. And settle into your father's position as Boss or I will-"

"I am settling. In my own way." Takuya pushed the cane away, "If you want me to settle don't pull me out of this school. How can you expect me to take over when you want me to be a doormat!"

"Not a doormat..." His grandfather rest his cane in front of him, "Just learn to pick and choose your battles...and when to let others fight them for you. I am not going to let some, freshmen get away with marring your face. I will personally speak to the faculty about this mess. You will disappear during it. Go spend some time with nice young lady at the house."

Takuya grunted, "Another one..." He leaned back onto the door. "So...what will happen here at school?"

"A suspension. You'll get over it. Now get your things together. We're leaving." Shinichirou turned around and started to walk away, "And, Takuya, no more public outburst. I mean it."

Takuya watched as his grandfather walked away. He opened the door to his room and kept his head down. He wanted to look as dejected as possible for Seiya. "I will be leaving now, Hikaru. I will call you when I reach my family's estate." He reached over and touched her hair, "Take care." He ushered her out and smiled.

Once the door was closed he through some things in a bag and got ready to go. He would back in no time. This little break was plenty of time to think about what to do Fridmund.

"Um!" Hikaru stood outside the door after it's been closed, hesitating. She saw Eber slip around the corner and down another hall and blushed, remembering she was in the boys' dormitories. She hurriedly left for the courtyard to help clean the courtyard and the building from the hectic Club Rush event.

-------

Eber completed his homework, but may or may not have actually gotten any of the answers correct. He was more concerned with preparing for his trip to the abandoned subway station. Underneath his mattress was a thin case in which he kept his knife. He didn't use it often anymore, but he was skilled with it. It was more of a hobby than an art. He changed into casual street clothes and tucked the knife, in its sheath, into his belt. After that, he'd just wait until dusk, slipping out under the guise of a dinner date and staying out until midnight.

Yamada had made just about the minimum limit for students for the club. He was worried that if some of them didn't show he was going to be cut. He frowned, but cleaned his area, unhappily, trying not to focus on the day, but having a hard time not. He gathered up his things and started to head to his dorm to get changed into something more suitable for cram school. He wasn't even sure if Seiya would be coming. He hadn't seem her after the fight. He wasn't sure which option he was more comfortable with.

Hikaru indeed attended cram school; she would never miss a day if she could help it. It was a close call, though, as all of her preparations and recovery for the day had left her exhausted. She walked alone to the building and arrived early enough to begin doing some sample problems from that day's text.

He entered not very long after she did and glanced at her nervously before sitting next to her. He got out his things but didn't say anything to her except a mumbled greeting, half upset with her and half expecting her to be the same with him. He just didn't understand how to handle people sometimes.

He was positive there was no hope for just focusing on his studies today. He wondered if he was going to dream tonight and found, when he thought about it that he was rather tired. Worn down more than anything. It had not been his favorite day.

Hikaru glanced up at him and instantly remembered what had transpired between them, before Takuya had calmed and reminded her how kind he could be. She frowned and looked back down at her textbook for a long moment, but seemed to make up her mind about something and lifted her face again.

"Hello again, Yamada."

For a moment he wasn't sure how to proceed, but decided to be polite, if not distant. "It's nice to see you're well, Seiya Sempai."

He wasn't sure why he was so damn bitter, but he was, it was really bothering him. His eyes roved over the other students and found that many of them weren't there yet. He figured many of them weren't going to bother coming. Not if they'd had club rush too.

She pursed her lips, flipping through her book without paying any real attention to the words. Hikaru tried to keep her voice as conversational as possible when she finally continued, "Mori has been suspended from school."

"...Was he?" He tried not to sound so interested, but that was a difficult job. "What of F-Fri-" He paused a moment and thought about it. "Friedman San? Was he given the same punishment?"

He was a bit worried for the German and for the ramifications of Mori's temporary dismissal. He decided to be a bit more personal and try not to be so bitter, or too happy with the justified suspension. "I'm sorry this became of your club rush. You must have been disappointed."

That was the honest truth. He'd been excited for the event and done his best for the Sojutsu club. Some time after the scene he'd gone to sign up for the volunteers again, and was a bit disappointed not to see Seiya there, but hadn't really expect to.

"They haven't spoken with Eber-kun yet, but I suppose it's likely to be the same. Since he's a freshman, he may get off a little easier... I'm not sure." She scribbled in the margins of her notebook in idleness. "I-It's really not so bad... I mean, I've never had this happen before, but at least everyone had the chance to sign up for their extracurriculars. ...Um," her voice lowered, glancing up at him, "And, well, until Mori comes back, I... I'll be acting as Student Council president."

His brows raised and he turned fully toward her. "Congratulations, Seiya Sempai." I've always thought you were suited for the job. I trust you to do what's right for our school." He was utterly sincere and pleased at the decision.
