Kojiro sighed again and looked around at the mass of dissolving shadows. It didn't seem like they had gone far...but if they kept growing at these numbers, they would be soon over powered.

"Are you two ok? Do you all feel tired?" Kojiro looked down at his hands. Was this fatigue an affect of 'raw summoning'. He wondered if he would be able to function at work tomorrow.

Rin nodded feeling a little out of breath. "I'm ok, though I do feel a little winded." She glanced around. "How can there be so many of these but nobodies noticed?"

Kojiro looked up and down the tunnels. "Well we're the only ones to come down here and survive...us and Seiya. Anyone else who saw them..." He shuddered when he thought about the train. He stood up strait sheathed his sword, "However...I have wondered how the rumor got started. What lures people down here? Is it our personas? Or something else? I don't think everyone on that train had the potential we did..so..how did this whole event come about?"

He yawned and stretched out his arms. "Ugh...I guess we won't find out tonight. The tunnels are too long for us cover a lot of ground in one night."

Rin nodded as her breathing returned to normal. She glanced over at them briefly before looking to make sure her book was ok. "So do you think we should pull back for tonight, or continue on a bit more?"

Isoroku held his hand up before his face and watched it tremor slightly.

"I... I don't think this is treating me so well. I think we should call it a night."

Kojiro nodded to Rin and Isoroku. "Come on lets head home." He double checked the wall to make sure his mark was still there. And then proceeded to lead his small party out of the tunnels.

Rin gave a small sigh of relief as they left the tunnels. She glanced around to see if the other group was around as well, but she didn't see them. "It doesn't look like the others are back yet, and there's no sign of Seiya. I guess we won't learn anything tonight after all."

Kojiro sat down on the side of the platform with his feet dangling. "Yeah..but at least we got so exercise. I don't think we should wait for the others. We can leave them a note and head home." Kojiro took out a pencil and wrote under the lipstick note 'K/I/R Gone Home'. he gathered up his box and stored his sword away.

"Alright, let's get going." He lead his group out of the train station. They could recap with the others tomorrow after classes.

"What choice have we?" Eber jerked his blade out of the writhing ball on the ground, watching it bubble and dissolve with satisfaction, "This is our only lead thus far; this, and Seiya. And somehow I think this will yield more definitive results."

He straightened, clothing sticking to his sweat-drenched body. The humming in the air had died down to the point of barely audible and the beam of the flashlight showed little sign of additional forces poised to attack. To Eber, they'd not even come close to making the kind of progress he wanted.

"We can handle it if we continue a ways. Come."

Kojiro: You and your party decide you are ill-prepared to continue your exploration. Perhaps the home issues weighing on your mind are adding to the fatigue caused by using your power... Turning homeward is the best option tonight.

"Right." Kumiko used the time they had to pull back her hair into a pony tail. Never again would she wonder how to maintain her girlish figure.

In the mean time, she simply followed closely behind Eber. Her fingers fiddled with the vial in her pocket.

"How are you holding up, Furidomon-kun?"

He didn't take his eyes off of the path ahead for the sake of diligence when he answered, "I am well accustomed to tests of endurance." The German quirked a smile, though he doubted she could see it. "Are you concerned over me?"

 

[ShadowFolk]

Kumiko shrugged lightly. "Well, yeah. This isn't running around the campus or lifting weights. It's just a bit more serious. Of course I'm worried. About everyone here. And the group with an idiot for a leader. Just, um...don't push yourself too hard. If you pass out, Yamada-san is going to have to carry you back." she teased.

At least the break in shadows gave her the opportunity for her heart rate to lower.

Eber laughed aloud at that and immediately quieted himself.

"You should take care of yourself foremost. I would feel awful if I allowed anything to happen to you, when it was under my invitation that you came."

 

[ShadowFolk]

"Well then don't let anything happen to me." she stuck out her tongue though she was behind him. "I'm just glad to keep up." Kumiko's heart jumped again. "Did you hear that?"

Eber put his free arm out to stop his partners and offer them cover. Everything fell silent and he was startled to hear a dull clinking noise from down the tunnel, swiftly growing closer.

It sounded like metal shifting...

AVENGER KNIGHT x1

The armor-clad knight rides upon a steed with no legs; its heavy lance is dark with dried blood.

 

[ShadowFolk]

"What the hell is that?" this didn't look like any of the ones she'd seen before. She hadn't been this scared since see saw elated corpses on the ghost train. Kumiko took a step back in hesitation. It looked like something out of a horror movie. 'Is...that blood?' She could not let the knight get near her. She shouted and there was flame once again.

 

[Cinnonym]

Eber lunged forward as soon as the fire died against the knight's breastplate, swinging his knife at the underside of the armored mount. He leaped backward upon finding nothing but air.

"What in hell--?!"

The knight dove forward with his lance and, almost too late, Ne-Zha appeared at Eber's call to blast it back with a Garu spell. The German fell back to support Kumiko.

"My knife is not going to get through to it, I do not have the range!"

To keep it at bay, he cast a second Garu when the creature began to recover.

She swore rapidly in her head. There was no way she could take on a fully armored monster with her boots. It was Baldr's turn again to take the lead in battle. He offered both of his hands to the Avenger and blew into them, casting Agi.

 

[PresqueVu]

Yamada nodded to himself more than anything and his eyes lit up at the challenge. He enjoyed having the opportunity to fight this opponent. He charged forward with his spear raised and lunged for the nearest weak point in his armor, close to his throat. He was glad the other two were protecting each other, but worried about their fatigue.

The Knight howls and stumbles backward; its hovering mount drops to the ground and the enemy is left open to attack.
