"Good morning, Ishikawa..." Hikaru frowned. Surely he wasn't serious about keeping this up... What was she supposed to do? She lingered in front of the building for long enough to see Kumiko, Isoroku, and Rin come up the steps and finally returned inside herself, heading up to the third year classrooms.

Class begins on time and as scheduled. Mizushima, Ishikawa, Junsui, Yoshida, Yamada: You feel as though you can barely focus on not falling out of your seat, let alone paying attention to the lesson. Your arms and legs feel heavy and your chest feels tight. Summoning your Persona, even for the few actions that you required of it last night, drains you both physically and spiritually.

The lectures carry on while you struggle to stay awake. When lunch finally commences, you're free to let your head make contact with your desk.

Kumiko thanked the heavens for the short day and the end of the lecture. She was tired as hell, but there was no way she was going to let that slow her down. Not today.

It was time to go all out. She was going to use everything a Gal had to put herself above the rest. Kumiko's hair had volume in its wavy locks. She'd even added clip in curls to increase the length. A large, black, stylish bow was stuck to one side of her head in a traditional Gal style. Subtle sets of neutral colored eyeshadow brought out the hazel color in her contact lenses and false lashes gave them that extra umph. In all of her pampering yesterday, she'd gotten long Decora nails that were popular with all sorts of women throughout Japan. She wore a tight, black, long sleeved v-neck top; Necklaces of various lengths 'covered' the part between fabric and skin. Acid washed material that begged to be called shorts were worn over a pair of opaque black tights. Her overall color repeated in her cork wedge shoes that were of course, heeled. Little bits of pale pinks were thrown about the outfit to break up the uniformity.

Feeling relatively pleased with her look, Kumiko shoved her portfolio into over-sized bag and headed out to the audition. 'I wonder what the competition will be like.'

She smiled, speaking to herself. "May the best woman win." Though she was clearly hoping to be the better woman.

"I love Saturday." Akinari said to no one in particular. There was so much time left in the day it opened up so many possibilities for activities.

He went straight back to his dorm room and picked up the lunch he was supposed to deliver earlier. The boy went down to Eber's door and knocked on it a few times. He still hadn't gotten any sort of reply out of him. 'There's no way anyone can sleep that long.' Akinari could feel himself fidget at the thought. "Eeiibaaa-kuuuun!" he called playfully.

As soon as lunch was over, Kojiro contemplated talking to the others about last night. Since they had the rest of the afternoon to themselves, however he was so tired. And he work to go to...He had to get ready. Damn it. He would just by pass everyone else and talk to Frimun. He seemed the most reasonable out of the other group. Kojiro said his good byes to Rin and Isoroku. And said they should call him if they were planning to explore some more tonight.

He didn't have the heart to tell them he was off campus all weekend working a job. He rushed back to the dorm as quickly as possible and got changed into his uniform. He could barely remember how to dress himself he was so tired. He tossed his homework, his books, and an envelop into his overnight bag and head out.

On the way he tried to knock on Frimun's room door to see if the German was still in or if he had gone out in his free time. He was startled to see the short freshman from yesterday was there as well. This may...complicate things... "Um, Good afternoon..."

----

By the time the school lunch rolled around, Takuya was ready to call Seiya. After having a forced formal breakfast with his grandfather and few of the families associates. He was ready to get away from the old man. And he couldn't think of a better excuse than to call his 'friend'.

Its not that Takuya didn't enjoy the business dealings going on within their home, oh no he had been watching, studying, and learning them all his life. And thought it was fun. On a whim and a heart beat, people decided who's lives to ruin, who should lose political power, or who should die. It was thrilling.

It was just that right now he was still feeling that tug. And he couldn't think about anything else.

He pulled out his phone and dialed Seiya as he walked down the halls. As much as he hated to admit it, the tug seemed lessened by hearing the girls voice. Its almost as if the monster was weary of the mousy girl. Like she would somehow know it was there. A ridiculous thought. It was simply a mental trick his mind had put together to keep him calm when speaking to the other senior. He had to, or he would lose control over her.

He stopped walking just outside his door, as soon as Seiya picked up Takuya spoke in the most friendly voice he could. "Good morning, Hikaru. How does the day find you?"

"Oh, good morning...uh...Ishikawa-san!" at recollecting the name he gave a energetic bow. "You need to see Eber-kun too? I think he's asleep." Akinari's cheeks puffed. "He needs to wake up, how long has it been? You shouldn't sleep too long you know. It just makes you tired if you oversleep. Good thing I didn't bother making breakfast today. It would have gone uneaten. I swear if he doesn't wake up soon I'll be giving this giant box of food away to someone who will eat it. And--" Akinari caught himself speaking far too quickly and far too much. "Sorry. I do that..." he sighed, tapping the side of his head with his knuckles lightly.

Eber groaned at the knocking, cursed at the calling, and finally lifted his head out of his pillow when he heard two voices communicating outside his door. He barely felt any more rested than he had when he'd first collapsed into bed. Mentally pepping himself to slide down off the mattress, he trudged to the door and opened it. The German stood in the doorway, hair disheveled and dressed in a pair of loose pajama pants. The dark bags under his eyes matched Kojiro's.

"Ishikawa. What are you doing here...?"

------

"Oh, Mori-sa... Takuya. I'm fine, thank you." Hikaru ducked out of the Student Council room to take the call without her clubmates listening in. "Are you well?"

When the lesson ended Yamada didn't even know it was over yet. He gathered his things and nodded to any of the others he saw on his way out. The day had beaten him and it hadn't even been a long one. He was terrified that this was going to become a trend and his scores were going to drop, but what he was doing last night, what all of them were doing, was something bigger. He couldn't deny that and found he didn't much want to. He wanted to find out more about this, but wasn't sure where he could even look for more information, or if he could pay attention to it at the moment.

It was very important that he get in training, studying, and perhaps talking with the others. It would be a shame to waste so much of his free time sleeping and not getting things done, but he needed, badly, to sleep. On his way out he passed Seiya on her phone. He'd have thought about saying something to her if she wasn't on the phone but instead passed with a polite nod of his head.

Upon reaching his room he set an alarm for an hour and a half figuring it to be enough time and went right to sleep again, just barely having enough time to put his bag down too before he was unconscious.

"Eber-kun...you look...horrible. What the heck did you do?" Akinari became very invasive, leaning in to get a close look at just how tired Eber looked. He looked back to Kojiro who had a similar expression. "Did you pull an all-nighter or something? Guys, I know studying is important but that's got to be doing more harm than help. Though I am very impressed that you're still working on your homework on suspension, Eber-kun." the boy handed over the bento, eying his friend's appearance. 'Maybe he should go back to bed...'

Kojiro smirked at the freshman's assumption Fridmund had been studying all night. "Hey, Frimun," he glanced back at Fujita, "How did your studies go? You get very far? I was curious..."

----

Takuya chuckled, always so concerned. "Yes I am well, Hikaru. But how is the school? Are the students adapting well to the new security measures? Or are they giving you a lot of trouble?"

Takuya had opened the door to his room and was now pacing around on the floor. He wanted to be on school grounds himself to see how the students were handling being kept like prisoners. And when he returned, he would be their jailer. Ah, this suspension was annoying.

"I..." Eber blinked, but quickly caught on; he chewed his lip while he determined how best to respond. "I took it as far as I could, but I became exhausted. Perhaps we should arrange a study group for Sunday evening."

------

Hikaru waited until Yukimura was clear of the area before continuing, "There haven't been too many problems. Mostly just students losing their key cards. The computer is doing just fine at logging entries and exits past the evening hours... Though I haven't decided how best to investigate discrepancies."

Kojiro nodded, "Yeah. We had a similar experience..Sunday would be best." Kojiro smiled, "Anyway, Fimun, I'll see you then. I have to go meet..someone, I'll be gone until Sunday afternoon anyhow." He smiled at Fridmund and Fujita.

"You two enjoy your lunch, see ya'." He waved as he walked off down the hall. Had to be back on time Sunday. But for now, he had to see his sister.

By the time he reached the gate, his sister was already there. He could spot Karin a mile away. She had her sandy blond curls tied into a sideways ponytail coming off of the left side of her head. She was listening to her MP3 player, which he still wondered how she bought, and dressed as extravagantly as Mizushima. She wore black high healed boots that stopped half war up to her knees, a red pleated skirt with black trim, and a light black shirt, the collar turned up, with long sleeves folded back up to her elbows to reveal a black, red and white plaid underside. And of course she was wearing jewelry. Every time he saw his sister she had a new watch, a new necklace, a new ring...

Where did she get this stuff! She claimed it was all gifts from her girlfriends and her adoring fans...he did not believe that at all.

"Karin," Kojiro said walking up to her, "You look ridiculous."

His sister rolled her brown eyes and turned off her music, "This coming from you? You dress like a Hobo!" There were never any polite greetings between the two. Karin held out her hand for the 'package'. He brother sighed and fished out the envelope.

"There. 37,000 yen," he slammed the envelope into her hands. "Tell Mom I want it back someday."

"37-thousand? That's all you made? All summer long?"

"I need some for myself damn it! Grandma can't have everything!"

"Ugh~" You are so cheap! You selfish idiot!" The two started screaming at the front gates. Ah, sibling rivalry...or in this case hatred.

----

Takuya's lips turned downward to a frown. "Oh. Some some students are still leaving campus? Fools." He rubbed his chin and mused,"For now, Hikaru, let it slide. Keep track of the discrepancies. If they seem random, it may just be a glitch in the system. If so have it fixed. For free. Show the results to the faculty and demand that the company come back and fix their shoddy workmanship."

He ran his fingers through his hair, "However, if you find that it the same students who's cards show up exiting and leaving after hours, by pass the faculty. Go directly to the principal. Such behavior will not be dealt with. And if he won't do anything, then I promise when I return, I will."

Takuya smirked. There was always the possibility the system was being hacked. He was sure that the school was too cheap to by a system that even the simplest of fools couldn't find their way around. But he would have to be there in person to check that. For now, Seiya's vigilance would have to do the job.

"Oh...and as for the fools losing their cards. they get two chances. if they lose to cards they go a month without one. Meaning they must return to the dorms before the doors are shut for the night. And if they think they can get around by using a friends, let it be known that anyone swapping keycards will be put into detention for a week. And if it is found that they are loaning them out for others to sneak back on, both parties will be suspended." That should keep the rabble in place.

Akinari was positively shinning with adoration for the two of them. So dedicated to school. He waved goodbye to Kojiro. "You guys are such great students. I should try to be more like you guys. Get dressed. This food can't go to waste. And then you can go back to sleep...for a year or so. Seriously, how late did you stay up?""

-----

Kumiko rounded the corner on her way to the audition. Before she could even see him, she heard him. There was an argument over money. That was less than her normal pocket change. Kumiko almost fell out laughing when she saw the two. It seemed like she wasn't the only woman Kojiro couldn't get along with.

"Who'd you piss off this time, Ishikawa-san?"

Kojiro turned his head, oh great. "Go away, Mizushima! This doesn't concern you."

"Oh god, your social skills are so horrid!" Karin pushed her brother out the way and stopped in her tracks. She looked Mizushima over and a smile bloomed across her face. "You, are gorgeous! Oh my god!" He walked away from her brother and over to the other girl. "Your stunning! I love it!"

She flicked her hands into the motion of a waving 'peace' sign. "I'm Ishikawa Karin!"

Kojiro came up from behind and pushed his sister away, violently. "And you were leaving! Aren't you up here to met your friends at some photo-thing. That's the only reason Mom let you come here."

Karin stumbled and backed up, "Hey asshole! Watch it!" She pointed at him, "You still owe me more money! You'd better bring it home or else!"

Kojiro straitened his tie, "Mizushima, please ignore my sister. She's not even supposed to be out in public without her nurse..."

"Shut up! She the one that should ignore you. Oh god, its bad enough having you as a brother but if we went to the same school I would just die." Karin walked back over and stood in front of Kojiro. "Besides," she tilted her head to the side and sneered, "Aren't you going to be late to Seikai-Hana? I know someone will be very angry- again."

Kojiro looked at his watch and cursed. He dug into his pocket and tossed the envelop at her. "Take it. Leave. Don't talk to strangers!" He turned on his heals and ran away from his sister and Mizushima without another word.

Karin beamed, triumphant again. He pocketed the 37,000 yen and checked the envelop. "42-something thousand...He still didn't give me everything." She tucked the envelop into another pocket before turning to the other girl. "So! Now that he's gone...Mizushima-san, was it? Its nice to meet you."

'How old are these two?' Kumiko wondered, a smile on her face nonetheless. "Ah, yes. I'm Mizushima. You can call me Kumiko. I'm so sorry you're in the same bloodline as him." She looked over Karin, unsure of what sort of look she was going for. "So...how long have you been a Gal?"

"Ah," Karin nodded with a smile, "My new girl friends started teaching me this summer. I don't hang out with my old friends anymore, they were a bunch of dorks. I would much rather learn to be a gal like you." He kept looking Kumiko up and down.

'She's much better looking that those gals I know..I should follow her lead.'

"Mizushima-san, please, can I learn from you?"

Sighing, Eber went inside to set the bento on the desk. He left the door open for Akinari, if he wanted to come in out of the hallway.

"Ah--I do not remember. I will try not to let it happen again if it concerns you." He went to his closet and discarded the rest of the clothing he was wearing, completely oblivious to any social protocol over nudity while he rummaged through the hangers to find an appropriate pair of jeans for the day. "What did I miss in class?"

He turned back toward him while he pulled on the pants, grabbing a T-shirt to put over it, a belt, another pair of socks. He paused to glance at himself in the mirror, then removed the shirt and replaced it with one of a more muted color. Next to find the right belt...

------

"O-Oh," Hikaru hurriedly dug a small notebook out of her bag to jot down Mori's instructions. She nodded at the end of each, despite the fact that he couldn't see it, and stowed it away when he'd finished. "I'll take care of it personally--don't worry. Ah... When are you coming back to school? Monday?" She sounded hopeful.

Takuya stopped to think for a moment. "Monday or Tuesday...I believe I must give my decision on our house guest Monday. Even though I have already told Grandfather she will not do..alas..."

He stopped and looked down at the girl sleeping in his bed. Certainly he would not marry a woman who so easily gave into a mans desires, whether it be for gain or 'love'. No who knows how many suitors she'd have before he could even put a ring on her finger. Loyalty was what he wanted.

"She lacks certain qualities I find make a suitable wife...I must go for now, Hikaru. I will see you next week."

He hung up the phone before tossing onto an empty spot on the bed. He leaned down and awoke his guest. "Time to get out. I have things to attend to, and you are not one of them." he steadily pushed her out into the hall in a bathrobe and locked the door behind him. She protested and yelled, but he didn't care.

'Did I just pick up a stray?' and before she could stop herself she said, "Sure!" Kumiko kind of liked being idolized. "I'm sure I can spare a few secrets here and there." which was code for 'I have to fix you'. "I'm actually on my way to an audition though, so I guess I'll see you around. Oh, just a second."

Kumiko reached into her bag and gave Karin one of her contact cards. "It has my cell and e-mail address on it."

-----

Akinari followed, closing the door behind him. He took off his shoes at the threshold. "You didn't miss much--AH!" he turned quickly in the other direction. Maybe he could find out just how deep a person could bury their face in a door. "J-just a few things here are there, I can get my notes to you later."

Eber quirked a brow but Akinari didn't see it.

"Thank you for taking care of me," he said, sitting on the edge of the desk and picking up the rather hefty bento, "You have not already eaten, have you? I thought we were having lunch together..."

------

"See you, Ta--" Hikaru sighed as the line disconnected. It seemed to always happen at the close of a conversation with Mori, "...kuya." She mumbled into the phone glumly and closed it, returning it to her pocket. There was a lot to do in Student Council while she still had free time today, and a volunteer function to organize for tomorrow. And those were just the things she had to worry about above ground.

Karin nodded eagerly accepting the card. "Wait did you say audition? Do you mean the modeling one!" She giggled happily, "That's where I'm meeting my friends! One of them is trying out! We can walk together!"

"Oh really?" she questioned, becoming curious as to just who the other girl could be and what she looked like. "Yeah, let's walk together." she chatted about her favorite brands and outfit types. 'How are those two even remotely related?' the only connection between the two she could make was that their light brown eyes weren't contacts like hers.

There was a crowd in the distance, that had to be the right place.

----

Akinari peeled his eyes off the door taking a gamble on if it was safe to look or not. "No, I haven't eaten yet." he lifted his arm, holding his school bag. He still couldn't believe that Eber had no problems changing in front of others like he did. Maybe he had embraced Japanese culture a bit too much. Akinari took out a smaller bento for himself and sat on the edge of the bed. He looked about the room. So much different than his. "So what subject were you cramming for?"
