Takuya was deep in thought about what he was going to do to Fridmund-kohai after school, but he heard Seiya speaking to him. He stopped walking and turned to her. "Yes, Seiya-san. You wish to discuss something?"

The German chuckled softly, shaking his head. "Do not worry. I will make him regret sticking around to watch me clean. I will make it last until curfew if I have to." Eber smiles over his shoulder at Akinari, head tilting, "Although... If I had an evening snack to look forward to... Well, it would make the work all the easier."

-------

"No. W-Well..." she trailed off a moment, shifting awkwardly, "...Are you all right?"

Hikaru couldn't bring herself to look him in the eye when she asked; she knew he wouldn't like the question.

He couldn't help but smile back. It was like Eber's smile had magical properties that made everything alright. Akinari nodded his head in agreement. "Deal!" he pushed the moon cake cookies his way. "They're all yours. You can't clean on an empty stomach. I'd like to see him stop you!" he stuck his tongue out at the door.

Takuya watched as Seiya averted her gaze. The sides of his lips turned down for a moment before he shook his head. He reached out and touched her shoulder lightly. After years of working with and being classmates with Seiya he had memorized what human interactions she appreciated and what ones she did not. He knew she took everything personally, during their first year together he had seen her get into a brawl, and win. It took him a few days to smooth things out with her.

She was an excellent assistant. And while she was not entirely necessary, she certainly made running the school and keeping the students in line much easier. He knew she was asking due to the severity of his punishment on Fridmund-kohai, he had to put her at ease.

"Seiya-san, you are worried about my actions. I know you have already become friends with Fridmund-kohai, but he was deliberatly disrespectful to me. In front of the entire class of new students. And after my warning of what was expected of them, of him no less. If I let him slide they will all become deviants." He took his hand off of her shoulder, "This is the last year for you and I, we must make sure we leave the school in good hands."

He smoothed out his shirt sleeves, "Both you and Grandfather worry too much about me. He kept me out of school for a longer break just to try and arrange a marriage for me." Takuya turned away from Seiya ready to continue walking. He knew she would appreciate a bit of personal information. It made her feel they were...growing close. Truly he didn't care who knew his grandfather was pestering him about marriage. He had turned down all the women he met over the break anyway.

Eber left two for the other boy but took the rest with gratitude, "I appreciate this, you have no idea." He stowed them away for later, fully intending to eat while cleaning this afternoon. He wasn't one hundred percent sure how the bond between the two of them suddenly became so close, but something about the small, bubbly boy made Eber want to defend him. He grinned inwardly. He didn't mind the idol worship so much either...

--------

"Yes. Ah... I understand. Thank you, President."

An arranged marriage. She supposed it wasn't that unusual for a boy of such importance, and Grandfather Mori's only grandchild. But she'd be lying to herself if she said it didn't make her chest feel tight on the inside. She imagined she could still feel the warmth of his hand where he'd touched her shoulder. Was this really the last year of school? It seemed like it should've taken longer than this, to get to where she was today.

She cheered herself up by remembering there was still University to look forward to.

"So," she blurted out just before 2-B, unable to keep from asking, "Have you found anyone?"

"No," Takuya said without turning to face her. "All of the girls Grandfather introduced me to were a waste of time. They were more interested in spending my money than knowing me." He shook his head, he knew that Seiya thrived on simple conversation. The more he fed her, the happier she would be with him and the less she would question his actions.

"However, I fear I am do for another round of candidates by the weekend. He wants me to settle down before I graduate from the University. He fears he's going to die and leave me all alone." He turned to Seiya, "but enough about me...How was your break, Seiya-san?"

The icing on the cake, let Seiya express her own feelings or experiences during a conversation and she will let you get away with anything for a good week.

Hikaru was at least a little surprised and barely knew how to answer at first.

"Um--I spent it at cram school, mostly. And the students from my volunteer group continued to operate over the summer... And of course, there was the orientation to plan," she quickly caught herself, "Oh, but I didn't mind. I'm happy to be able to help. You're always... Well, you're always fixing my mistakes."

She glanced away from him again, blushing, "Your Grandfather worries over you for good reason. I, ah, I hope you find someone who can take care of you properly. To your standards."

Takuya, smirked. She was stuttering. Excellent, Seiya was back on his side. "We shall see. He's suppose to call me to tell me if I have an arranged date this weekend or not...I wish I could have spent the break being more...productive such as yourself. I hope all this nonsense hasn't affected my study habits."

He stopped as they entered the hallway to the second year's homeroom. "But for now lets focus on the task at hand, shall we. Idol chitchat can be handled later." He tucked his hands behind him once again and resumed his presidential stride up to the second years door.

Isoroku took a container of cold ramen out of his bag and dug in with his chopsticks. He smiled wryly as Ishikawa approached, as though expecting him, and nodded his head toward an empty chair.

"I heard every word," Isoroku said in a quiet voice, not particularly wanting to be overheard, "And you, Kojiro, are my goddamn hero. I'm thinking of building a shrine to you in my dorm. I'm trying to decide which part was my favorite-- 'egotistical *****' or 'your whole damn life is worthless.' Did I get that right?"

Isoroku considered, and slurped up a noodle. "You should probably stop letting her hit you, though."

Kumiko's lunch grew cold. She'd only picked at it a few times. She spent most of her break just staring up at the clouds and relaxing herself. How was she going to get through an entire year of class with a guy she couldn't so much as look at without wanting to harm something?

The roof gave her a peace that she knew had to end soon, so before the bell could sound, she went back to her classroom and sat back at her desk. She never once looked his way.

A mental note was made to start making snacks that granted high energy, Eber would need it. Not so much for cleaning, but for rubbing Takuya the wrong way. Akinari felt positively naughty about causing Takuya grief even if he was only indirectly involved in messing with him. It had never crossed his mind to 'get back' at someone before. But, Akinari had never had a friend like Eber before...he chuckled at his bare minimum mischief.

Yamada found himself growing colder to the other student after too much of his chatter and brought the conversation to a close. He stared out the window and glanced over the classroom just to see how everyone else was handling their day. He was a bit surprised that he was interested in it, then found his mind wandering to Seiya again.

He was worried about how she'd acted the previous night and hoped she'd be doing better for cram school that night. He wasn't sure how the next few days were going to go for either of them, but found more and more he was looking forward to Sojutsu and club rush. He hoped he could get at least one new member. Perhaps he'd see if she needed a hand with any of the preparations. With that thought he shut his bento up, not much left inside and got his class materials prepared again.

Kojiro plopped down into the empty seat and chuckled, "Yeah that's what I said to her..." He rubbed the side of his face. "As for the hitting though, I kind of had to let it slide, I don't think decking the most popular girl in class in the hall would have gone over well with the teachers. And I'm kinda already on their 'watch list'." He leaned over the back of the chair ans sighed.

"But I'm glad someone other than her got a kick out of it." He said with a wily smile.

Isoroku nodded. "You're probably right. I'm surprised they're letting her get away with hitting you... but I guess that's sexism for you."

He lifted the cup of soup up and began to drink the broth. "Do you know much about computers?"

Kojiro shrugged, "Not really... He scratched his head. I know how to use them, but if they fuck up I have to get technical help." He watched Yoshida gulp down his food. And suddenly it dawned on him he had not eaten himself. It also occurred to him he had spent so much time raging about Kumiko that he hadn't taken very many notes today.

"Hey, Yoshida...do you super geniuses take notes? Because I could use some..."

Isoroku picked up a notebook and handed it to Ishikawa.

"I don't normally bother, but today I did. I'm a little thrown off my game lately...personal issues. Sure to be back to normal soon."

He took another sip of the ramen. "Erm... ignore the doodling."

Kojiro opened the notebook, and twisted his lips. "Uhh, thanks," He set the note book down. There were definitely more doodles than notes. He mentally sighed, 'Of course, he's having problems. Damn, I am pulling up short today."

----

Takuya opened the door to the second year's homeroom. Unlike the first years, he did not have to make a big show of it. All he had to do was open the door and take his place at the font of the room. Soon enough they would all settle down and pay attention.

He never had to say a word. They knew who he was and they knew the consequences for crossing him. He had ingrained into them during his time as vice-president during his second year.

Takuya came to stand in the front of the room, hands behind his back and Seiya just behind him to the right. As always. He waited for the attention of teh second year students.

Isoroku's eyes widened as Mori entered, and there was an instant change to his demeanor.

He turned to face the front of the room and straightened his posture, swiftly putting the nearly empty ramen container away under his desk. He blanked his expression, trying to display no emotion at all. He heard many other students around him focusing their attention to the front as well.

Isoroku found Mori terrifying, because he understood that one should never try to manipulate a manipulator. Mori was both brilliant and brilliantly perceptive. Of everyone in the school, it was Mori who was the biggest threat to the web of lies that Isoroku had so successfully built around himself. He had developed a policy that, so far, had seemed to keep him off Mori's radar screen. Shut up, be respectful, and remain totally unremarkable.

Hikaru indeed stood just behind the President as usual; she did, however, offer a small smile to the familiar faces, and gave Yamada and Yoshida a subtle wave.

Rin glanced up from her lunch as she noticed the room going quiet. She noticed a boy standing in front of the class. Rin felt he had somewhat of an overbearing arrogant feel about him. She felt a bit nervous, but tried to look as if she was paying attention.

Kojiro, who had his back to the door took note when Yoshida suddenly sat up strait and looked as if something had crawled up his butt and died. He slowly turned his head to see the student council president waiting at the front of the room. Kojiro himself followed suit and sat attentively. He didn't dare cross Mori. The senior hated him enough as it was, he didn't need to give him random reasons to torture him.
