"Of course...!"

Hikaru stayed where she was until the student council president left and then gathered up her things and said quick goodbyes to her friends. Her good mood was in a hundred little pieces on the floor. She supposed it was silly--but she was positive that this year Takuya might have actually addressed her as a friend, and not with this cold distance... again. Especially after he'd trusted her to take over the start-of-term operations. She supposed she ought not to have dallied in the courtyard this morning. Yes, it was probably disheartening for the president to see her lack of dedication during his return.

Hikaru went through the faculty offices to make copies of the paperwork before bringing it up, painstakingly organized, to Takuya in their homeroom.

------

Eber bounded up the steps in his sweats to enter the school; he smiled distractedly at those who wished him good morning, but wasn't in the mood for chatter. He showered off in the locker rooms, changed, and went upstairs to 1-D, duffel bag and book bag over his arm.

"Good morning, Rin," Isoroku quickly inserted. "Thank you for the notes, they were in excellent order. I wasn't feeling well yesterday, but I'm sure today I'll be able to pay much better attention to the instructors."

He felt quite chipper, and for once thought it might be best to try and avoid burning his bridges.

He shrugged to Kojiro.

"If you confront her out here, make it loud-- I want to hear!"

He entered the class and went to his desk, unpacking his things.

Kojiro nodded to Yoshida and Junsuri as they entered the class. he resumed his watch over the hallway, waiting for Mizushima. He hardly said anything to the other students, he just watched them walk by, some of the boys gave him dirty looks. However none of that mattered.

He was certain his conversation with Mizushima would be loud, no doubt. But he didn't care about what they thought today.

-----

Takuya entered his homeroom and took his seat at the front of class. He waited patiently for Seiya. He sat with his eyes closed, thinking to himself, listening to the sounds of his classmates ramble on about their pathetic lives. And some nonsense about a train. He scoffed. he would have to discuss with Seiya about reminding students that anyone caught out of their dorms after hours would be severely punished.

Hikaru arrived with time to spare before the start of class.

"Here are the files you wanted. All of the first years, they're color-coded in green, plus the new second and third years who haven't attended Akaito before. There's an exchange student from Germany, he's a sports favorite. Um. The new faculty members are listed as well, and I brought up the listing for the clubs for the end of the week, a budget will have to be negotiated..." She stands attentively at his desk.

Isoroku took out his notes and books and began reviewing yesterday's lesson. He believed he could get his old arrangement back, but until then, he'd do what he'd have to in order to survive-- even if it meant actual hard work. His grades would still fall at least a bit, but if it became noticeable, Seiya might just slip his "secret" to the faculty, which would allay their suspicions and perhaps garner some sympathy.

He had no doubt that if his cheating were discovered, his future would be utterly demolished.

Takuya opened his eyes at Seiya's arrival. He quirked a smile. "Ah, Seiya-san. You are always so reliable." He picked up the club budget reports and skimmed through them. "I see Yamada is after the same thing as always," he pulled out the file from the rest. "I will personally handle the Sojutsu request...as for the rest of the clubs, they're in luck. I heard Grandfather speaking to the principal, and it seems the clubs will receive a three percent increase to their spending." He set the club files aside and thumbed through the student files.

"Its probably due to all these 'special' students we're receiving. That pauper Ishikawa and this new exchange student. They think the German will put our baseball club on the map, and after his performance last year, they think Ishikawa will place first in Kendo...Never mind we've had an exceptional soccer team for years." He pulled out the files on Fridmund, Ishikawa, Junsui, Yoshida, and Fujita and set the rest to the side.

"Also, Seiya-san, I am disturbed to hear such rumors and its only the second day of class. I believe we as student council should make it a point to remind all students that such dangerous gossip will not be tolerated. And that sneaking out of the dorms is grounds for sever punishment. Even expulsion."

Rin settled herself into her chair at her desk. Her thoughts drifted back to Ishikawa and his sudden introduction. If nothing else he seemed more friendly and polite than Yoshida was the other day. The brisk way Yoshida acted yesterday had not sat well with her. Sighing to herself slightly, she pulled a small book from her bag and began to read til class started.

"You're right, of course," Hikaru said, swelling a little at the compliment, "I'll ensure that the consequences are understood. It's only a rumor, anyway..." she blushes again, "You'd have to be stupid to believe in it..."

She gives him a quick bow and thanks him, sitting at her desk, two seats over from him. She awaits the start of class, gazing out the window at the grounds.

The morning for Yamada was unsettled. He found that he hadn't properly organized his room and had to spend most of the morning tending to that and to preparing his lunch. His mind continuously wandered to the dreams he'd been having and was worried that he was more stressed than he had been the previous year. He saw a new foreign student running and wished he'd had time to do something similar that morning. He thought, in passing, that he may try to join him if he decided to make this a routine.

He was further disappointed when he didn't see Seiya outside when he came to school. He sighed and tried to focus his mind, not wanting it to drift in class. He'd do that during lunch than lose track during this intensive lessons. He found, despite how he tried he was a bit dazed as he made his way to class.

"Good morning, Yamada," Isoroku remarked when the other boy entered the classroom, full of false sincerity. "I hope today's lesson is a bit more challenging, eh?"

Isoroku was smiling inwardly, too. Who needed extra-curricular activities when you could torment your classmates?

This day was just going to continue to improve it seemed.

"Yes. I do hope so. It seemed the lesson was a bit wanting yesterday, didn't it? It being the first day is no reason not to give it your all."

Yamada sat down with a small nod. "I hope you enjoy the lecture, Yoshida-San."

With that he turned pointedly away and to his bag, getting his materials prepared for class, quite done with the other student.

Kumiko was a little more than upset. She'd had an unbelievably horrid night and to top it all off she barely got to close her eyes before waking up again. She blamed it all on Kojiro.

'Probably wouldn't have even had that dream if I didn't end up there with that jackass.'

Waking up early was just as well, she still had to prep herself for school and as soon as she was ready she ran most of the way to school. Running in heels, a dangerous, but effective way to give your legs a great work out.

Her hair was fixed before she entered the main building again. One must always be presentable. Kumiko smiled, greeting her kohai and senpai on her way up to class and as she rounded the corner the last person she wished to see was just standing there. Anyone near her could see the muscles working in her jaw as she gnashed her teeth.

"Move it."

-----

Akinari woke up very early, feeling not as bright as usual. The nightmare had returned and left him uneasy. He did, however manage to bury the feeling when he once again talked to his parents again through web cam that morning. It was so hard to talk to them when they were both on different sides of the globe. He told them about his first day at school. The word 'German' was thrown about quite often and before he logged off, he mentioned that he was having strange dreams. His parents reassured him that it was probably the change in environment, so like a good boy, he took their advice.

Just like that, he was perky again and out of the door.

There was a particular bounce in his step as he rushed up the stairs to school. It was an amusing sight. Akinari was holding a small bag in his teeth, and carrying a cumbersome, three-layered bento in his arms. Not to mention that his messenger bag was packed full and sliding about. He still managed to make it to class without falling or dropping anything; though there were a few close calls.

He dropped everything on his desk and gave a huge sigh of relief. "Good morning, everyone!" he shouted, though was pretty sure no one was really paying attention. He scanned the room, found his blond friend, and waved at him with extreme fervor. "Good morning, Fu-Fure-Furido...Good morning, Eber-kun!"

Eber grinned when the boy fumbled over his surname. It never got tiring. "Fujita, good morning! I am sad I did not find you earlier for my morning run. Athletes ought not to train alone." He waved him over, leaning over another student's desk. A newspaper was open across it and more than one person was gathered around it. "Had you heard? Another person was found at the shut-down station. It was a student from Akaito this time, and she was not so lucky as the first group."

He frowns, rubbing his chin, "It concerns me. I have been dreaming of trains lately, and they have not been pleasant."

Kojiro crossed his arms. This was it. His own jaw clenched and his face turned to an angry scowl.

"No. Mizushima, I will not move." Kojiro had made sure to give himself enough room to jump out of the way should this crazy gal attack again. "You need to hear this. Last night, I didn't want you there. I didn't even plan to meet you at the gate. I think you are a vain, self centered, egotistical *****. And even if you do have some greater personality hidden deep within the folds of you always oh-so-perfect-hair, no one will ever see it! Because you, and your little idiot fan boys are all obsessed with your things! Your WORTHLESS THINGS! AND YOUR WHOLE DAMN POINT IN LIFE IS WORTHLESS! I wouldn't give a shit about you if you were the only woman in this WHOLE DAMN SCHOOL!"

Her mouth was agape. She couldn't believe the things she was hearing. Kumiko couldn't remember if she had ever been so offended. "HOW CAN YOU BE SUCH A DICK?!" She stomped her foot in fury before swinging her leg swiftly into the shin she didn't get to hit the night before. But that wasn't quite enough, she swung her hand at him and slapped him so hard it stung her own hand. "You've got some room to speak, you ass! I'm egotistical? What about you? You couldn't hold your nose any higher. And I was so willing to give you a chance, to have you prove that you weren't just as mean and stuck up as people say you are. And my idiot fan boys might actually be useful, don't expect your life to be easy around here. If my point in life is useless, let me make a new one dedicated to making the rest of your school life miserable! NOW GET OUT OF MY WAY!"
Kumiko pushed him aside to get through the doorway and huffed all the way to her seat.

-----

Akinari grinned in return, happy to hear that he could do laps with a fellow athlete. He sat down by Eber when he was flagged over. His excitement died down when there was mention of the eerie dream. "YOU DREAMED OF TRAINS TOO?!" He clapped his hand over his mouth and looked around the room. "I mean, I had a really...REALLY bad dream about a train too. It was too freaky and all this weird stuff happened and then there was this really creepy dude and a girl and---" he was rambling again. He really must stop doing that. "It-it's too bad about that girl though..."

Kojiro hit the hallway wall as Mizushima struck him. God could that girl hit! He pushed up off the wall as she stormed into the room. 'Make my life miserable? As if! There's not much she could do to make it worse than it already is!'

He rubbed the side of his face and puffed up his chest and opened the door. He REFUSED to limp to his seat. Hell he refused to sit in that seat. Kojiro made his way to the back of the room, past Mizushima's desk, making it a point that his bag accidentally knocked over one of her many gift baskets.

He stopped at a desk next to Rin and dropped his bag on it. He glowered at the student occupying it.

"I sit here now." Was all he said.

She sat with her arms crossed and stared out of the window. She was in so sour of a mood that she didn't greet a single person that approached her nor did she bother to pick up the presents that Kojiro 'accidentally' knocked to the floor.

'I am NOT an item. I am not a thing. I have worth and- DAMMIT HE'S AN ASS!' she raked her fingers through her hair and couldn't want the lesson to start any more.

Eber quirked a brow at the boy's admission and opened his mouth to comment when the bell rang, commencing the second day of class. He wandered back to his seat but was distracted by how bizarre the coincidences were.

-------

You ready yourselves as the teachers in each class prepare their lectures. This time the first years do not get off so easily. Each lesson is rigorous, adhering to the syllabus at hand. Mathematics, biology, and literature fill your brain with facts, only a percentage of which will actually be on the future exam. You have little time to consider your unusual nightmares.

As your hand begins to cramp, you find yourself counting the minutes until the lunch break...

And then, finally, the bell! Even the instructor seems relieved as he leaves you for the period.

You are free to enjoy the lunch hour.

As the usual bunch gathered about her desk, she got up and left the room. Today was not to be one oh her social days. Today, she'd eat lunch on the roof. That was always the best place for peace and quiet. At least it was quiet around her, in her head Kumiko could only hear Kojiro.

----

'Finally!'

What was better than filling your gut after hours of rigorous learning? He untied the little bag he'd brought with him and passed a few out to excepting girls. The main course, however, he placed on Fridmund's desk. Akinari said absolutely nothing, mostly because he wasn't entirely sure what to say. 'Here, I made lunch for you.' No. 'I made too much, so we can share again today.' No, that was just silly and 'Eat my food!' sounded a bit too forceful. So instead he just sort of made eye contact and opened up the layers.

He made sure to point to each item and show Eber what was what. "Um. Today's menu is...piggy-onigiri. It might be a little sour, there's umeboshi in them. Some people thinks it's too sour of a filling. This is curry rice, there's spicy chicken, potatoes, carrots, and onion in it." he felt increasingly embarrassed over his obsession with putting faces on absolutely everything. "And, er, this is a...winnie the pooh-..ah..It's a moon cake. Have you had mochi before? It's a cookie wrapped around a ball of-...I talk too much. Please, eat."
