I dunno if Amnesia would translate well to the couch, playing the game in a family space, seems sort of counter productive to setting the mood of the game. For me I have only played a couple hours but I always turn off the lights in the computer room, put on my headphones and make sure the door is closed so it is as dark as possible.

Put it on Wii. It's not like Amnesia was the most graphically demanding game ever. Plus the Wiimote works well enough with most of the controls.

Then we can watch the new surge of reports of people throwing Wiimotes at TVs in terror.

I'd certainly like it to be, seeing as my PC can't run it and I'd like to be able to play it someday without having to spring for a new graphics card. It doesn't even seem like it would be all that hard to port, either; all it would need is a few minor tweaks to the controls. The problem is that whether or not Frictional should depends entirely on whether they can afford to, which they probably can't, and whether or not there's enough money to be made in porting it over, which there probably isn't. While I'd love to see Amnesia on consoles and would totally buy it, I can make due without if it's just not worth the cost for the developers.

Actaully i don't think it would do well for consoles because of the "Hold one button and drag the mouse to move it" aspect.
Kinect?

Someone had to say it.

Frictional have already demonstrated an interest in alternative control methods

Anything that can make one crap their pants in terror so well as Amnesia deserves to be experienced on every available medium. Nobody should miss the opportunity to be afraid of the dark again. Incidentally; playing the "monsters are coming to eat your face" sound cue from that game as your "alert" text noise at midnight and waking your roommate up is fine as long as they don't immediately freak out, grab the nearest object and sit crying in the corner for 45 minutes while you explain that they're fine and no monsters are coming to eat them. Then you're kind of a dick.
