Should Halo 4 be the last Halo?

Reach should have been the last Halo since it completed the cycle, but I guess they can make more.

Well to be honest, Halo 2 was supposed to be the last one, but Microsoft wanted Bungie to create a third so they can make the series into a trilogy (and make more money). That's why Halo 3 feels much more rushed then the other two, it was supposed the last part of 2, but they were forced to stretch it out into a whole new game.

I'm calling it, its going to tie into marathon, I mean it makes sense from the lore perspective. And it would be great story wise, if you are remotely interested in the Halo books, read them. The most recent one talks of the Forerunners, its great.

Isn't going to happen. It doesn't make any sense when compared to the lore, AND Bungie still owns Marathon.

Anyways, to answer the OP: 4 will not, and I can guarantee this, be the last Halo.

I thought it should have ended at Combat Evolved, but whatever I say can't change the fabric of reality. So, as of now, I and Halo have a relationship in that we don't get involved with each other.

They said it was a new universe, so new story line. Halo had one hell of story line. Plus Chief's story didn't end. He was floating in space oh la la, fuck no Chief can beat armies of aliens by himself. He wouldn't drift into space and never wake up/die.

Well,only the covenant leaders were defeated, you gotta remember that.their could be some form of covenant reformation deal going on, and the flood can't be truly defeated since their are the rest of the rings were their are bound to be more.

I don't think Halo 4 should even exist, the tagline for Halo 3 was "Finish the Fight" which I thought we did. But then there was Halo Wars, but I was like, "Okay, prequel/spin-off, I can dig it." Then ODST came out, and I was like, "Stupid obvious cash-in game stupid and obvious." Then Reach came out, and I was like, "Well, it is a really good game, and it is again a prequel, so I'm content." Then Halo HD was announced, and I was like, "Okay, I never played it when it was new, and it could use online multi-player, it could work for $40." Then Halo 4 was announced, and I was like, "Really? What can they possibly do with it?" This is the fourth or fifth game (depending if the HD remake comes first) since we "finished the fight," and I think it needs to end. Not that I dislike the games, because they are very solid, well-designed games, but I think by now it's obvious to everyone that Halo 4 is simply a cash-in game that they know will sell based largely on the Halo licence. So yeah, it should be the last Halo.
