It's a pretty iconic movie, I don't think a commercial release this year can match it.

I actually saw this for the first time about a week ago, you should definitely check it out.

Yes. Hugely important in terms of the rise (and rise) of "Indiewood", very stylish homages to a number of classics of Eastern cinema alongside Kubrick and a post modern take on hard boiled literature. The "comode story" is one of the definitive moments of 90's cinema.

Yeah, it's pretty good.

This reminds me, I really need to do that Tarantino review week soon...
I look forward to your Tarantino week of reviews (well Monday to Wednesday anyway).

Assuming that Monday to Wendesday is Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction and Jackie Brown.

Let me put it this way... It's Tarantino's second best movie (pulp fiction is THE best). It is an iconic film. It's two parts hilarious to one part horrifyingly brutal, and it is simply AMAZING.

See it!

Definatly see it, and if you can rent the game (its for PS2/Xbox). While short, it is quite good and it lets you play the parts you dont see in the movie.

Yes, it is well worth a watch but I've never been a Tarantino fanboy. His movies are entertaining and I don't doubt their quality but I wouldn't think any less of someone for not having watched Reservoir Dogs.

When I do it, I will be doing them in chronological order. So yeah, those will be the first 3. :)

Anything with Steve Buscemi is worth seeing. Steve Buscemi is like the champagne bottle that christens a movie the S.S. Awesome.

I hear that Tarantino guy ain't so bad either.
Who? Mr. Pink? Yeah, Mr. Pink is the shit. He was good in "Fargo," too.

Excellent, I was hoping for both chronology and True Romance (T. Scott) and Natural Born Killers (Stone) wouldn't be shoe horned in to the first three due to Tarnatino's "contribution" to the scripts.

Have you thought of other director/auteur themed series of films? I'll resist the temptation to list a suggestion of directors as I am sure you are better qualified to know which directors you would like to review a selection of/complete works of.

(Plus, I've already reviewed Natural Born Killers).

I haven't. There are certain directors that I will eventually review all of the films that they've directed, but I probably won't do them all back-to-back. (Mostly because I've already reviewed at least one film from them -- somehow I haven't done that for Tarantino yet).

There are certain series that I'll eventually do back-to-back, like the Alien and Predator series. I'll get through all of the films in that series all in one go. That's what, 9 films now? The 4 Alien films, the 3 Predator films, and then the 2 crossover films. And then there are some trilogies I've yet to review, because I want to do them all together. The Bourne series is one that will be posted soon, actually, as I took last Friday to watch/review all 3 of those. That was a fun day. There are other examples like this that I just haven't gotten to yet, but that's just where I'm at right now.

Glad you are only doing the films Tarantino directed. I'll look forward to the Alien films, and hears hoping that the Uwe Bowle film you reviewed wasn't the start of another director series! ;o)

Yes. The only complaints I've ever heard about it are from Michael Bay junkies who can't sit and listen to explosionsless dialog for ten minutes. Even then, it's not exactly a boring movie. Quite a bit of action at parts.

One of the best films ever made.
