Yep, it's pretty muched summed up. You can brag about it, but it will just show that you're definitely not intelligent. And IQ is pretty much useless, because you can have a lot and still be an idiot.

But maybe im just envious cuz mine ain't high :D

No, because only the truly smart people realize how little they truly know and ever will know, despite all that they might learn. Thus, bragging would merely do nothing but show how stupid and arrogant you are in the first place. Besides, IQ has nothing to do with real intelligence, only dealing with how good you are at memorizing formulas, equations, facts, etc. much like how they grade you in school, while leaving out very basic yet important things such as common sense. Intelligence is more than those facts you learn in a textbook or how good you are at recognizing patterns.
I'd type my own answer, but it'd pretty much be this.

I have an IQ of 131 at the age of 14. Doesn't affect me much. I do good on exams and stuff, got top marks in all classes but one last year, but I still melt my brain with things like TV.

Imo, IQ is nearly worthless to judge someone's intelligence. Someone who really really really sucks with numbers (like moi) will fuck up an IQ test wich would result in a lower score. Does that mean I'm not intelligent? Doubt it. IQ is too sumarized, too general. I prefer Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences. [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiple_intelligences]
This. Although that's never stopped me bragging XD. I mean, I'm clever sure, but combined with apathy (partly due to my world view thanks to my intelligence) it is of much less use to me than somebody who is less intelligent but more commited.

Age is supposed to be irrelevant for IQ. Unless of course you have dementia or something...

A psychologist once did a test with me and I ended up having an average IQ of 114. But my spacial realization was of a gifted level. Thats pretty cool I guess. Maybe I shouldve studied logistics or architecture.

No rason to brag, I've done at least two dozen IQ test during the past 6 years. The results vary greatly. The tests themselves are inaccurate and usually only measure a very limited form of intelligence.

It's not what you have or how much of it, but how you use. A person with an IQ of 70 might be far better at solving practical problems than a person with an IQ of 120.

EDIT: It's not only about how your brain is built up, it's about the education you've also had. A good education generally leads to better results because you've trained yourself to solve those kinds of problems.

A person with an IQ of 70 would almost definitely not be better at solving any problems than a person with 120.

That point aside, I think that due to the fact that IQ tests really aren't proven accurate or generally available in any standardized form it's useless to brag about IQ. They measure learned facts and reasoning ability, which isn't necessarily intelligence. And also that multiple intelligences theory generally dispels their usefullness. If IQ really meant anything, then schools would find some use for it.

A truly intelligent person would a certain sense of humility about their intellectual abilities. A truly intelligent individual would also realize that bragging about their IQ would make them look stupid, which contradicts the motive for bragging about IQ in the first place. If you had a low or average IQ, then there would be no reason to brag. Thus, you should not brag about your IQ.

Also, I'm wary of IQ measurements because I personally feel a person's intelligence cannot be accurately measured numerically.

Bragging about one's own IQ shows a complete lack of intelligence, the accuracy of the various tests is always questionable at best... "Intelligence" has entirely different meanings for different people

IQ tests can only be compared if taken in the same year and month of life, so you can't really brag if someone wasn't the exact same age when they took theirs, down to the month.

As for my own IQ, I honestly haven't seen the number since the eighth grade or so, so I can't remember what it is, but it was high enough to get me into a number of gifted programs at school and to make the teacher yell at me for sharing when everyone in the program got a copy of their old results one day.

On a side note, I've only ever done average in school because I don't give two hoots. Intelligence means that I'm good at logic puzzles and word games, nothing more.
