Anonymous are a hacktivist group as we all know. Two of the items on their agenda are :
- Freedom of Speech.
So when a govt starts beating up/jailing protesters/dissidents/whistleblowers, Anonymous hacks sites connected to that government.
- Freedom of the Internet/ Internet Privacy
Attempts from governments or individual corporations to either monitor or censor Internet traffic were again met again by hacktivist ops by Anonymous.
So now I ask, doesn't LulzSec's attack touch both of these bases?
What if the Chinese govt brought down Escapist because of a particular thread that it didn't like, say one where Chinese govt abuses were discussed at length? Wouldn't Anonymous be all over the Chinese governmental sites like a bunch of angry wasps, and rightfully so?
So why, in this instance, is LulzSec exempted?
LulzSec carried out an act of cyber-bullying. They didn't like what the community said, so they started throwing punches to silence it, exactly like a schoolyard bully.
So where are the Anon legions?
