I remember watching Family Guy when it first came out and thought it was the greatest thing since sliced bread (which is awesome if you didn't already know). But because of its poor time slot that coincided with Friends (a show I seem to be the only person not a fan of) Family Guy was canceled. Massive DVD sales brought it back but thinking about this inspired me to make this thread. Have you ever had a show that you thought was great, that got canceled due to lack of public appeal?
I can think of greater things than sliced bread.
I mean, using a knife isn't exactly the most difficult procedure imaginable.

For cancelled shows, I'd have to say Futurama.
When I heard it was being cancelled, I died a little inside.

Dollhouse. Canned after the second season. I still need to see the second season; the first one was brilliant.

They have them on Audio?!? Smeg! If I had known that I would've checked those out ages ago. My brother drives from Pennsylvania all the way to Illinois to visit me, and he enjoys a good audiobook along the way. I shall have to introduce him to these. Thanks for the heads up!

Firefly is definitely worth the look. Even if it was canceled, I'm glad I saw it. I used to own two copies on DVD, one to loan out, and one for myself. Used to... since the last person I loaned it to has had it for the last two years.
I've listened to a portion of one of the audios, they're read by Chris Barrie and he does the voices for all the characters and I must say he actually does a good job of it.

I'm on the fence about whether to mention Dollhouse. I really liked the second halves of seasons 1 and 2, but I've read several times that those eps were mainly Joss catering to the network. The episodes he liked and wanted more of, the "Doll of the Week" eps, were sometimes really boring. So I'm halfway listing it.
Actually it was the other way around. The Doll of the week, Story of the week things were Joss catering to Fox. They didn't like the really dark stuff or episodes that didn't wrap things up nicely. Nobody does dark, or long arcs like Joss.

Mission hill, it only lasted a season but it could have been a contender for at least king of the hill longivity.

The picture speaks for itself. Ohh how awesome that show was.
glad I'm not the only one who remembers that show. so awesome.
I'd like to add futurama to the list (even though it's now been uncancelled, and new episodes are being made)

Outer Space Astronauts (maybe) Everyone should check out the 5 episodes on SyFy (to encourage them to pick up a second season.)

... Firefly.

Sonic the Hedgehog, the one that came on ABC every Saturday morning. Archie's comics continued it from the end of the second season and its got really good. Whoever came up with that Sonic X crap needs to be shot.

Firefly and Dead Like Me. Two of my favorite shows ever. Breaking Bad on A&E is still on, but it seems to take forever to start a new season. And I miss Stargate SG1, although it was on for 10 years or so, I guess I shouldn't complain.
