Red Riding Hood trailer:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PM8V3cHdSC4

Like any other guy dragged to one of these movies by a member of the opposite sex, movie critic, male or female film buff or anyone whose followed MovieBob, I HATE TWILIGHT. I hate the fact that the romantic male lead is a creepy, clingy stalker. I hate that the female lead is codependent, mopey and emotional all the time. I hate that is seems to convince impressionable girls that stalking equals love. I hate the fact that the male lead commits rape and it's 'OK'. I hate...everything other than this is where I was introduced to Anna Kendrick :)

If there's one good thing, it's that it seems to be drawing to a close with the 4th movie.

This film, made by one of the Twilight director, has all the same themes and if it's successful that means even more Twilight-style insanity.

Any thoughts?

Didn't embed right.

And when did Edward commit rape? Did I miss something?

...You know, it's not perverted and weird enough.

They should do a movie of Red Riding Hood - the Oral Tradition (where Red Riding Hood narrowly escapes wolf rape, Grandma does not survive, she flees back to the city afraid, naked, and with a wolf chasing her...)

Sadly...it won't happen

So are you asking your question because RRH somehow relates to Twilight or simply because the director directed Twilight?

According to fans and a reviewer, yes, Bella loses her virginity while unconscious. She wakes up naked and bruised...and comes back for more. Horrible.

The trailer AND the director leads me to believe it will have the same themes, characters and cliches.

Nooooooooo, why?

Give me a bloody film crew and a few tens of millions and I could remake Little Red Riding Hood a million times better.

They are gonna rape the story until nothing remains. For God's sake...

Huh. How the hell did I forget that?

But she didn't actually write the movie, so the themes in Twillight should not carry over.

And certain jackasses think video games are violent. When was the last time you heard of video games based around wolf rape? Or starving children wandering in the forest where a witch tries to kill and eat them?

I see your point but directors have a lot of creative control and I believe she was brought on board because of her success with Twilight, of which this movie looks like a clone.

Because that's a rather dodgy way of putting it. She wakes up after having sex bruised, yes. It's never implied she lost conscious any time before they presumably finished and she went to sleep. Let's not forget that the character practically forces him to have sex and has wanted to jump his bones pretty much since she saw him. She's actually being described as being so enthralled during the act as to not notice what's happening.

I can't believe they're actually using a Twilight actor, too.

* Don't judge a film based on the trailer.
* Don't judge a film based on the trailer.
* No, REALLY. Don't ever judge a film based on the trailer. Remember how everyone on The Escapist whined like a baby about "The Social Network" and decried it as "that Facebook movie, it will be so shit lol" only to wind up with egg on their faces when it turned out to be one of the fucking best films of 2010?
* The director of Twilight also directed the multiple-award-winning Thirteen, and the pretty-damn-good-as-well Lords Of Dogtown.
* The director of Twilight didn't write the screenplay for Twilight. The screenwriter for Red Riding Hood is David Leslie Johnson, who also wrote the horror film Orphan.

I see no reason to believe that this film and Twilight are going to display any genuine connection at all.

I just don't like the 'look' of that movie. hell, nothing even looks decent in it, RRH won't be relate-able enough to fangirls, and, well, it looks like twilight, so that's just not appealing to pretty much everyone else.
except tim burton fans. I think many of them'll get a kick out of it, especially the ones whom like twilight, they'll be able to get over the pretty and not being a blank slate character.

that's my opinion, now if you don't mind, I'll be waiting for transformers 3, IN 3D!!!
