Do any of you have friends, partners, siblings etc who have an unhealthy infatuation with something?
My partner is obsessed with The Joker from The Dark Knight and to be honest, it's annoying me now. It's completely fine to like him, but when you're constantly quoting him, acting like him and doing the mannerisms, that's taking it a bit too far.

So, I ask you; Do you know anyone who drives you up the wall with their obsessions?

Yes I do. The worst part is that if I change the subject from her raving about her latest obsession, she'll participate in the discussion, then pick up exactly where I tried to shut her up.
I couldn't tell you her obsessions, she has so many. The worst was Lodoss I think. It's bad.

Almost everyone at my school went like that for about a month when Borat came out, but the sad/annoying part was that only about half the people at my school could see it, the other half were doing impressions of the older peoples impressions...

There's one person in particular that's obsessed with spoiling movies for me. Although they'll preface it with "I don't want to spoil anything for you, but..."

Why even say that then? Put a period after "you" and leave off the "but". Because, right after the "but" the spoilers will come flooding on in.

Ah, well..

Something I've noticed about a lot of people. You all have an unhealthy lack of interest in cycling.
Some of you even think it's weird to get up at 5am to make sure the hi/lo compression and rebound are balanced and the bottom out control is set. It's as if you people don't lose sleep over blowing out turns. It'll cost you precious tenths!

Like someone I know did with both the Sixth Sense and Usual Suspects. I hate it when they do that.

I REALLY hated that period when Napoleon Dynamite came out. Fucking Pedro shirts and morons trying to talk like that dumb ass main character. Damn I wanted to kill some people! I didn't though because jail sucks.

More or less anything that is dwelled on for too long, sometimes people at our school may spend a week or two doing Eastern European accents and after the first day it's wearing, but my god some of the things these people can come up with makes you want to burn someone.

I will have to admit though there a select few of 'that lot' who are genuinely funny and somewhat original in their whimsical content but the majority are not.
I'm told I have an unhealthy obsession with Gilbert and Sullivan but the worst I tend to do is hum a bit or the very occasional quote.
Unless they know their audience will find it genuinely interesting I think people should shush a bit. I don't mind listening to pure waffle a little bit but too much and I will get a bit annoyed, though that's the worst I'd really do, sit there in quiet contempt and maybe glare a bit.

Yeah, I was one of the only kids in my 6th grade class that wasn't obsessed with that movie.

Borat also got a bit of over-saturation, but that was a funny movie. I just preferred it when I was the only one I knew that knew about Borat.

It depends on how well they do the mannerisms. If they can nail a dead on impression of Captain Jack or the Joker then yeah they can do it all they want being that it's entertaining. If it's less then this it quickly gets annoying.

Beverly Hills 90210. That show is utter crap, yet everyone in my family watches it. I'm also pretty sure I have an unhealthy obsession for mudkips.

Wait...still? That show went off the air years ago and it isn't exactly at the level of oh say Firefly.

A friend who really likes anime girls.

As for myself, it'd be Star Wars in its entirety.

Yup - but firstly, I have the obseesion so I'm pretty sure I'm the one getting annoying - and mine is Family Guy. Got whole scenes to memory. And - how sad is this? - but I can act as an encyclopaedia on each episode. I know its unhealthy, but that won't stop me...

A female friend of mine is completely obsessed with her semi-broken mobile phone. She brings it up all the time! Seriously like every 20 minutes. She is a great friend but I wish she'd just turn the bloody thing off and leave it alone for one hour, that would do.
