I have a hatred of FF fanboys. The games are ok, with involved storylines, but FFVII is not the best thing ever. It was good for its time, largely due to the CG used and some other crud that it did first for a JRPG. Its not good by todays standards, and turn based combat is dated and lazy imo.

I have a slight obsession with hand to hand combat (or martial combat).
I'm always watching UFC, Boxing, Kickboxing. I'm a boxer so I guess my obsession is understandable.

Edit: The Twilight books were well written, but were basically the romantic imaginings of a lonely, geeky girl.
People have egos and tend to be touchy when fighting or whatever comes up in conversation, so I guess some think im anoyingly obsessed heh.

Meh. Fashion 'tards, mostly. Although two friends of mine have this thing going on where one of them says he likes something and then a couple weeks later, the other friend suddenly likes it too. I imagine it can be quite infuriating.

Do any of you have friends, partners, siblings etc who have an unhealthy infatuation with something?
My partner is obsessed with The Joker from The Dark Knight and to be honest, it's annoying me now. It's completely fine to like him, but when you're constantly quoting him, acting like him and doing the mannerisms, that's taking it a bit too far.

So, I ask you; Do you know anyone who drives you up the wall with their obsessions?
Luckily I don't but, on the other hand I'm pretty obsessed with anime in general. And I have tried (to some degree of sucess) to get the people around me hooked to an anime.

Now I'm aware of the fact that most people couldn't care less about what I like, but out of the people I've shown shows to:

3 became fans of anime
2 acknowleged that the particular anime I had shown to them was interesting
2 said that 'anime just wasn't for them'

So I'm not really sure if I could be classified as annoying.

Your thoughts?
Being an anime fan i agree with the spread of anime. What method you use to attempt to get them hooked will change my response, so could you please enlighten me on your methods?
I usually use a slow baiting method.

Heres how it works:
-First I tell the person in question I wan't to show them a song
-I usually show them something like 'Lillium' (elfen lied op) or something good from a show's soundtrack
-Then if the person in question is curious about where the song comes from, I tell them it's from one of those animes I'm always watching
-After I tell them that I give them a synopsis of the anime in question
-Then I offer to show them the first couple of episodes from said show

-It's important to choose a show you think that your audience will enjoy (avoid shows like elfen lied and trigun) good all-around 'starter' animes would be: Fullmetal Alchemist, .hack//SIGN, Higurashi (for a more mature viewer obviously) and FLCL
Don't forget bleach. 12:30-1:30 on saturday i'm an unmovable rock. That is the greatest anime ever imo. although i guess it could offend some religious freaks.

I'm always told that I'm the one with the fixations. I'm a fan of Beck, but none of my close friends are, so Iguess it sticks out more.

Who doesn't know someone like that?
My friend can't go a day without bringing up something involving Metal Gear, but I don't really care that much.

People who rant about/keep going on about Twilight.

Read the books, I personally liked them, but I don't want to hear about it every 5 minutes. But the ranters against are worse, if you don't like it, shut up about it then.

I think my friend has the beginnings of a /b/ obession.

Every so often he talks about how someone posted cp, or some other /b/ shit.

It can be very annoying.

I get really pissed about people who are obsessed with their Kill/Death ratio in any game. And I also wish people would just shut the fuck up about Obama's family. He's the president, his kids are not. I don't care about his fucking daughters. Talk to me about what he's doing politically. Not his wife and kids. And don't even get me started on Michelle Obama...

If there is a God then a special level of hell has been created just to house the Joker uber-fanboys that won't shut up about him. They've managed to ruin a brilliant character, and it's got to the point now where I can't even watch The Dark Knight anymore.

Achmed the Dead Terrorist, you can only here "Silence, I kill you!" so many times before you want to kill them
Yes, poor Achmed is raped and killed by ringtone commercials. Ringtone commercials in general are an abomination that needs to be eradicated.
