Sick of modern warfare 2?

I played that game once. Just once, never played it again. I thought it was just about the most dull, boring game I had ever played. Seriously? Yay, you made another bland shooter, whoopde-fucking-doo. But everyone else I know is so obsessed with it. People are addicted to this game like I am addicted to Transformice, and I cannot tell what's so amazing about it.

Its just frustrating when something like the halo reach beta starts and none of my friends will play.

I am getting quite sick of it but I still keep on playing multiplayer for two reasons.

1) It still has a large amount of players and it's the best multiplayer game for finding an Australian host on the 360 at this moment. I hate lag so I stay with MW2 which became really good at finding a local server a few months ago.

2) My friends play it. Multiplayer is made to be enjoyed with friends and I have grown tired of playing games with a bunch of randoms. TF2 is good but when you don't know anyone else playing it starts to suck.

What I would have liked is for the multiplayer to have been more polished. It feels like they rushed out the multiplayer aspect without any sort of detailed testing. There were so many bugs and balance issues when the game first came out that it was quite obvious that they didn't pay much attention to perfecting multiplayer and even with patches there are still a large amount of faults with the game. I would not be surprised if a large number of the perks added to MW2 don't make a return in MW3. Maybe they were cursed by their own hubris and thought that they could do no wrong or maybe they just weren't given enough time to polish the game, either way I hope they improve upon multiplayer for future titles.

I've never played TF2, (admitting that will probably get me crucified here). I'm not a big PC gamer so I've never got round to it. So cod is still probably the best multiplayer experience I've had.

The one thing that really annoys me about the game is that now everyone and their dog are trying to imitate them. The market is overcrowded with cod clones.

I've yet to see any real CoD clones. Similar, yes, but the same could be said for CoD and the games that came before it. Popularity and Originality aren't the same; I doubt Call of Duty has anything that hasn't been done before in it.

I understand what you mean dathwampeer its just that Cod is such a generic kind of shooter it's easy to draw similarities.

Pretty much that. For me the thing that turned me off most we're the radio adds, saying its the best game ever and you MUST buy it. No-one, and I mean NO-ONE tells me what I must buy.

I just don't really see the appeal in it. It starts to feel really same-y after a while. Not to mention, the playstyle that gets you the highest score is the one that is the least fun to play, as or against. I've switched to other games, and really haven't looked back. I just really hate how people are completely obsessed with it, to the point of paying for mods to make them better at the game, dropping references into every conversation, and outright refusing to play anything else. When the Reach beta came out, I played it with one of my friends. One of his major complaints was that it was so different from CoD that he couldn't adjust. He then went straight back into MW2 and hasn't come back out. It gets annoying, seeing as he's a good friend of mine.

Polite Disagreement: The Single-Player experience is still one of the best in the biz, albeit short.

You can't seriously believe that... Modern Warfare 2's single player campaign was one of the worst I've played in a while. Which is a shame, because Call of Duty 4 and 5's were excellent.

I don't get how people can be sick of playing games. If you like, you'll play it, if you don't, you won't (or at least shouldn't). No one is forcing people to play, I enjoy the game. Maybe not as much as I like Halo SP/MP but I like it more than other games such as BF:BC2. But I play every game (that I have) that I like. Yes, it was over hyped as well as many other games. Halo 3 is a great game but had too much publicity prior to release. Same with all the Fables, WoW, SC2, HL2, etc. I think people believe that if a game gets hyped to point where everyone, from babies, to moms, to dictators, knows what it is and it's not absolutely PERFECT, it must suck or at least not be good.

Why? I haven't played yet, but my boy liked the single player and often plays online, though, these days he'd rather kill zombies in COD5.

I think it's a great game and don't really see what everybody's problem is with it. Still I don't play online because I always end up taking it to seriously if I play to long and get irritated.

I have been for a very very very long time. As soon as BF:BC2 came out I got it and it's much better. I find the multiplayer very stressful and I got fed up with it.

OT: I've been playing MW2 since it came out and I have yet to grow tired of the multiplayer experience. Sure there are times when the game is aggravating and downright bullshit but all in all it is a fun experience. Personally I think it's the challenges that keep me playing and the prestiging.
