Sick of MovieBob Bashing Call of Duty?

I like MovieBob. Sure I take what he says about both games and movies with a grain of salt as my opinion conflicts with his quite a bit. But I still like the video's he makes.

Also, most of you seem to bash MB for his criticism of the CoD series on every single point he makes. But just like how you have good points, so does he. Yes he makes his points way too dramatic. But the points are still there.

I really don't get why CoD gets thrashed so much. I mean sure, I'm not the biggest fan, but it's just a dime a dozen modern shooter series at this point.
I just ignore the games, sure they sell well but it doesn't hurt me so I'm not one to care.
Now if CoD starts actively harming games I want, then I'll start lighting my fires.
Then again I don't much care that CoD is so disliked, I enjoyed the first Modern Warfare and that's it, they didn't innovate enough for my tastes(and I like the Dynasty Warrior series...)

As for Movie Bob personally complaining...yeah I haven't seen his stuff and it's not really stuffed in my face when he complains about CoD so I'm cool with him doing his thing.

Movie Bob will make the odd inaccurate statement or generalization, but he'll normally step back and at least acknowledge his biases and the redeeming points of CoD, which is way more than most content-makers and fans will do.

I used to be an avid watcher/reader of moviebob's videos and intermissions, but he's made it clear he will sooner bash his audience for not agreeing with him than apologize(see the beginning of his Hot tub time machine review, or anything he posted regarding mass effect)

Im sure everyone has done their fair share of call of duty bashing, be it here or on youtube.

I wonder how long ppl are gonna keep buying this shit. Sooner or later even the casuals even have to get sick of it, no ? I guess they'll always be fresh 10 year olds ready to fill in and keep the tradition going. Maybe more hardcore RPGs like Skyrim and ME will start pulling them away.

That's not a surprise because games like Skyrim and ME are aimed at the CoD/Gears of War crowd.

Defiantly, I totally remember gunning down all those bandits and stormcloaks in Skyrim when I was hiding behind all those chest high walls in linear corridors, I mean it's so like Call of Duty I can't even tell the difference!

I know a bunch of CoD/Gears players that would never touch a proper traditional style RPG, but would be all over games like ME and Skyrim. Don't underestimate the Toddler and the tards at Bioware when it comes to 'going after the CoD crowd'. The Bio devs even said it themselves... PUBLICLY even !!

So because people play cod or gears that means they can't like RPGs, or any game that they also like is somehow tainted? Maybe these games don't play like a "proper" (and I say that with the most exaggerated tone) RPG, but the thing is their a lot more fun to play then the "proper" RPGs ever were

I have a complicated view of Bob. I like him, for the most part, but sometimes he really pisses me off. Mostly for the way he tends to absolutely and unnecessarily bash/demonize people he disagrees with.

Anyway, I don't really see anything to get upset about, hell the last thing he states in the post is basically wait and see. Which we should, we still don't and won't know until the game is finished.

I didn't see his Hot Tub Time Machine review, so eh, whatever. His videos can go from pretty smart to kinda boring(and the new opening/beginning subplot crap is, well... crap) but he's always admitting he's nostalgic, a Nintendo fanboy, etc. His episode comparing CoD:MW2 and NSMBWii basically confessed that he knows CoD is a good game at its core, and that its sales more or less show that. And it's remarkable he did come out in favour of it at all, considering he's a blatant Nintendo fanboy.

Yea, because a hiking sim where you constantly mash the attack buttan over and over again or a cheesy interactive movie complete with emotional engagements and shitty 3rd person shooting is totally my idea of 'fun'.
