Yep, Moviebob thinks everyone should hold the exact same opinion as him and anyone who doesn't is a bastard.

In other news, the sky is blue.
and you respect others opinions that don't align well with your own, right?
like, this very post I quoted? Good. *endless loop of hypocrisy*
I guess we will have this discussion over and over again until we lose all sense of reason and opinion, so the only chance is to either agree, or not to care.
I... Wait, what? I can't tell if you're accusing me of hypocrisy, or agreeing with me.
Both, probably. My point is, we all have opinions, and we DO voice them, no matter what, so your point is somewhat invalidating itself (because the thread is about complaining about MBs opinion), but is also the more or less acceptable standard.

well here we go
I think you've misunderstood my post, unless I've misunderstood you (equally possible). I never said Moviebob shouldn't hold that opinion, just that it's an opinion I find distasteful.

That's what I thought...
*cough* I used to. Seriously, I enjoyed CoD 4 and World at War. I had fun with them. Sure, I also played the multiplayer, but I stopped because of the rampant hacking in CoD 4, and stopped playing World at War when I realized that if someone has a flamethrower, everyone else is screwed.

Although, I still play CoD 4 online in the old-school free for all mode. Fun stuff.

If I wanted to bash Call of Duty, I don't need Moviebob's help :p

(Call of Duty is a terrible series of games military-industrial complex ads that sacrifices balance and skill ceiling for accessibility. Also, entire community is babies and dudebros. Plus, neither hats nor jetpacks. See? No Moviebob necessary.)
I think Medal of Honor's brief return was more of a US army ad.

To quote Geoff Ramsey: "That game was a 20 hour blowjob to the US army". At least MW has an evil American protagonist, and British vigilantes kicking ass.

Not that I like Modern Warfare. I'm just saiyan.

MovieBob isn't the biggest fan of military-themed FPS games, I'm not the biggest fan of Nintendo switching from "All new titles, all the time" to "exactly one new franchise per console release."

I'll call the whole thing even, and then have the rest of the internet lining up to tell me how wrong I am.

I don't really mind him "bashing" Call of Duty because he brings up some good points for debate and presents them in a manner that some find entertaining. Even a CoD fan like myself doesn't mind it because CoD has been getting slowly worse and worse past the first Modern Warfare (with the exception of Black Ops IMO) to the point where MW3 was terrible. Activision can always be taken down a few notches every now and then too, since they use a lot of "evil" practices that we gamers hate (like little innovation, $15 map packs, etc).

However, I would like to see him stop complaining about the Halo series without a decent argument. As much as I like to see the new Halo trilogy being criticized, Bungie's work was amazing and if you are going to hate on it, do so intelligently and with good points.

I got sick of MovieBob the moment I heard his terrible voice. How can anyone stand it?
And those stupid smilies in his videos piss me off.

Am I the only one getting tired of hearing MovieBob constantly bash the Call of Duty franchise? After reading his latest post on his blog, it?s become extremely apparent that he?s simply looking for any excuse to take pot-shots at the games. Apparently anything that shows the military in a positive light doesn?t sit well with Bob. What is really ironic is that Bob has stated before that games need to have political controversy, and not be judged negatively for it if the medium is to grow. Yet Call of Duty comes along and might have a political message (we know for sure until the game is actually released) and Bob is trying to crucify the game because it doesn?t agree with his viewpoints and opinions. What?s the message that Bob is trying to get across? That it?s okay to have a political message only if MovieBob agrees with it?

According to the fans that AGREE with his "research" (sarcastic quotes are sarcastic) of Mass Effect 3 and Metroid Other M? YES, all its alright if he SAYS SO.

The real stinker will finally hit when he HAS to see a game that actually MAKES a good point on the horrors of war (instead of doing the "DO NOT DO THIS COOL THING" sort off message) and STILL sends it to the trash bin because "Its a FPS, therefore, its a creative bankrupt game just like the Metroid Prime series" and another bullshity reason.

More appropriately, there should be a game like "Johnny Got His Gun"

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Literature/JohnnyGotHisGun

For the moment, it seems that Spec Ops : The Line is going for that approach, where there are no clear good guys and bad guys, unlike Call of Duty.

It would be more understandable if you just said that you find his opinion (Bob's) VERY biased and with no ground on logic or anything in more depth analyze on WHY Call of Duty sucks even harder than it looks

...I WAS going to assume that you were being sarcastic, but...

He never said that. He said that HE LIKED Other M better than Metroid Prime because of the gameplay difference. He never said that the Metroid Prime series was bad because of the First-Person aspect, he just preferred Other M's style. Heck, I preferred Other M's gameplay (not story) to Prime's. Are you going to bash me? It's just an opinion, get over it.

OT:

He has also stated multiple times that he thinks Call of Duty IS a good game. He just prefers, well, Nintendo and NES-style products. He even devoted an entire episode where he compared New Super Mario Bros. Wii to Modern Warfare 2 (I think) and said that they shared MANY similarities.

Does he have a political bias? Yes, so does everyone else in the world. Why are you surprised by posts like that? It's his shtick when he isn't making his three internet shows. Heck, he did an American Bob like show earlier this year. If you don't like reading his political posts, DON'T.
Going to be real quick here, so listen up: One can like the Primes or Other M (for some unholy reason). But, from a technical standpoint, Other M is NOT a Metroidvania game (among other things)

What do i mean by that? Well, in the same way that Super Metroid took the Metroid formula and expanded it in such a way that made it THE example of all metroidvanias games to follow. The Prime series took it to the FP Perspective and managed to apply the formula to THE STORY, in the same way that the collectables are there for you if you WANT to, the story/lore is there for you if you just want to look for it.

If you really need to know why Other M has NO defense whatsoever, then i suggest this piece of Red Letter Media Style of analyzis:

Kind of just sick of MovieBob in general. Stopped watching his reviews a while ago, I understand everyone has their own bias when it comes to reviewing, but the fact he didn't like American Pie simply because he was bullied in high school just... urgh. Not exactly professional.

Other M's story was terrible and indefensible I hope nobody's arguing that. However I found the gameplay serviceable. It didn't fit into the metroidvania style but it was still decent. The gameplay wasn't bad, just bad metroid gameplay which is a justifiable complaint because what you got is totally different from what you were expecting.

I'm tired of Call of Duty getting bashed in general, great you don't like it neither do I but I don't blame it for the downfall of gaming, I just don't play it.

ITT: People bashing someone for not liking their precious CoD yet those same people will go out of their way to treat people who don't like CoD like they just threw their mom feet first into a wood chipper.

Also, I've stopped listening to MB haters all together since all they do is cry about anything he says.

MB: "I think JP game companies need to start releasing more games in the States."
MBH's: "NOOOOOOOOOOO!!! YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO SAY THAT, ALL THEIR GAMES SUCK AND ANYONE WHO PLAYS THEM NEEDS TO BE BEATEN!!!"

MH: "Companies need to release their back Catalog"
MBH's:"HSSSS!!!*cries* BUT LIKING STUFF FROM THE PAST IS STUPID, ANY GAMES WITH SPRITES SUCKS."

MB: "I have hands."
MBH's: "NO ONE SHOULD HAVE HANDS!!!*cuts off own hands* NOW I'M BETTER THAN YOU!!!"

With such a rabidly over-excited fanbase it's practically impossible to bash CoD enough.

Corridor of Duty. LOL

I wonder how long ppl are gonna keep buying this shit. Sooner or later even the casuals even have to get sick of it, no ? I guess they'll always be fresh 10 year olds ready to fill in and keep the tradition going. Maybe more hardcore RPGs like Skyrim and ME will start pulling them away.
There's no chance they could like both or anything. Nope. No sir. Not a chance.

[sub][sub][sub]Oh wait, I like both. Silly me.[/sub][/sub][/sub]
So does yours.

That's not a surprise because games like Skyrim and ME are aimed at the CoD/Gears of War crowd.
Defiantly, I totally remember gunning down all those bandits and stormcloaks in Skyrim when I was hiding behind all those chest high walls in linear corridors, I mean it's so like Call of Duty I can't even tell the difference!
Doesn't ME have chest high walls and linear corridors ?

I know a bunch of CoD/Gears players that would never touch a proper traditional style RPG, but would be all over games like ME and Skyrim. Don't underestimate the Toddler and the tards at Bioware when it comes to 'going after the CoD crowd'. The Bio devs even said it themselves... PUBLICLY even !!
And how exactly do you define these, "proper traditional style RPGs," my elitist friend?
