Buying a new pair of pants. Once I put em up I feel the price tag on my butt. So I jump out of the booth at once, lose the pants and scream. I tought someone was pinching my bum.

Alot of laughs, I have never returned to that shop. >:D

I referred to lettuce as 'salad' in biology class.
And I'm quite botanically inclined. Think it's because lettuce is 'saláta' in my second language..
Still embarrassing.

I once tugged my mobile phone out of my pocket, lost my grip on it and essentially did a "quick draw" that led to me throwing it across the room in to a fireplace.

In front of my parents. And brother. The phone was on vibrate out of deference for Sunday lunch, they had no idea it was ringing. From their POV I just smashed my phone on purpose.

...d'oh....

I have really bad eyesight. I mean, REALLY bad - I can see clearly to a distance of about 20 cm and about zero after that. I remember losing my glasses and then breaking them by stepping on them while looking for them, because I couldn't see them while I was searching.

I also remember my mum asking why I didn't put on my glasses so I could see... not realising as she said it, that that was why I was searching in the first place. BECAUSE I HAD LOST MY GLASSES!

Last night on Team Fortress 2, the entire red team lined up outside the red spawn on goldrush, standing at the wrong gates. When they didn't open, we all looked very confused and proceeded to watch as the entire blue team, unopposed, began to push leetle cart.

I have a stupid tendency of putting stuff on the roof of my car when I'm in a hurry to load the car. I stuff the bigger stuff in the car, forget about the stuff on the roof and drive away, letting the stuff fall from the car. Fortunately I haven't ruined anything valuable/fragile in this manner[footnote]The most recent victim was my lunchkit.[/footnote] but I still feel very dumb when I do it. *sigh* Why do I do it?
I put a six pack of coke on my roof and it made it 100 km to the closest major city... Going 110 km an hour most of the way.

I felt sheepish.

I have a decent story, but not about myself. (teehee)
My brother intended to go to a pawn shop and see what they had along the lines of video games, so I loaned him my cell phone and told him to call me when he arrived.
When he didn't call for quite some time, I called him instead. After two tries, I reached him.
He told me that, more or less, he walked around the store as the cell phone blared away, and most of the occupants stared at him strangely as he tried to figure out whose phone was going off.

So, I was replying to a thread here at The Escapist when I leaned back in my chair and looked out the window to my right. On the roof of my front porch(I'm on the 2nd floor) I notice my TV remote. I think to myself:

"How did my remote get on the roof, and why is the porch roof suddenly so close to my window?"

So, I open the window, and the TV remote and roof are gone. I thought I must have been seeing things.

I closed the window and get back to typing when I look outside, and there it was again. So, I stand up again and set my cell phone down on my bed beside my TV remote....

I opened the window and the remote was gone again, as was the roof to my porch. Then it hit me.

I was seeing the reflection of the end of my bed(which is under the window) and my TV remote is at the end of my bed.

I felt like a complete moron but I couldn't help but laugh at myself for that very rare moment of pure stupidity.

So, when was the last time you did something that made you feel like a complete moron, and what made you feel that way?

Ran into a wall when I was... Don't know, probably 13 or something. (I should clarify that it was actually a glass made door)

Also my dad once asked me the time while I was holding a tray with drinks on it.

And... Yeah lots of other shit, more subtle, that I can't remember right now.

About a week ago I was helping a friend move to a city about 20 minutes away. Driving my truck and trailer over the mountain, I saw something flapping in the back of the truck. Got out, secured everything, and went on my way. About 10 minutes later I saw it again, so I got out and looked for it but couldn't find it. Got back in the cab and realized it was my shirt flapping in the wind being reflected off of my back window...

Don't feel bad. While sleeping, one night I decided to open my window (right at the head of my bed) and shove one of my pillows out of it. I woke up a few hours later wondering where the heck it was. I vaguely remembered the dream, looked outside there it was. Man was it cold.

Just a week ago I was with my friend at the sutro baths *sf* and when we were eight had thrown in a shopping cart and we could see it today so having an ingenious idea he threw a purple ball over where it was but forgot to weight it so it started floating away I leaned over to grab it and my phone slipped out of my breast pocket into the murky depths. I took it pretty lightly though on account of having been kind of stoned.

My Dad once recounted several hillarious examples of this to me, such as going to an ATM and withdrawing money and then forgetting to take it out and walking away before realizing.

My sister always loses things that she keeps on her head. Hats, hair bands, sunglasses... They're always on her head!
