So, I was replying to a thread here at The Escapist when I leaned back in my chair and looked out the window to my right. On the roof of my front porch(I'm on the 2nd floor) I notice my TV remote. I think to myself:

"How did my remote get on the roof, and why is the porch roof suddenly so close to my window?"

So, I open the window, and the TV remote and roof are gone. I thought I must have been seeing things.

I closed the window and get back to typing when I look outside, and there it was again. So, I stand up again and set my cell phone down on my bed beside my TV remote....

I opened the window and the remote was gone again, as was the roof to my porch. Then it hit me.

I was seeing the reflection of the end of my bed(which is under the window) and my TV remote is at the end of my bed.

I felt like a complete moron but I couldn't help but laugh at myself for that very rare moment of pure stupidity.

So, when was the last time you did something that made you feel like a complete moron, and what made you feel that way?
[small]Feel free to laugh at me for this...[/small]

I have a stupid tendency of putting stuff on the roof of my car when I'm in a hurry to load the car. I stuff the bigger stuff in the car, forget about the stuff on the roof and drive away, letting the stuff fall from the car. Fortunately I haven't ruined anything valuable/fragile in this manner[footnote]The most recent victim was my lunchkit.[/footnote] but I still feel very dumb when I do it. *sigh* Why do I do it?

I actually saw a guy drive out of a school parking lot with books perched atop his car. He made as far as the stop sign leading into the main road when the books flew off his car into traffic. People were kind enough not to run him over as he gathered his things.

Damn funny!!! These illusions/reflection stories are always funny when people tell about them.
Pretty similar stories are when people are looking for their hats or something and wearing them, always cracks me!!

The last time I felt like a complete moron was my last airplane ride.

*After getting off the plane*

Me: "Where's my passport? Shit! I think I left it on my seat!"

Sister:"Your passport? Aren't you holding it?"

I look down, see myself holding my passport, and facepalm. Not with the hand holding the passport.

Oh, wow! The most annoying thing that has happened to me driving away was spilling a slushie all over the windshield while backing up in a hurry. I hope I never end up like that fellow.

That reminds me of the time, a long time ago when I was still mucking around on the playground, when a kid was running around screaming that he lost his glasses. He was crying and panicking, searching the ground whilst explaining that his parents promised to take away his gameboy[footnote]Wow, now I feel old :p[/footnote] if he lost them again. He was so flustered that noone could get it through to him that his glasses were on his face.

It is funny watching other people have stupid moments.

That situation where you say "where the fuck is [insert noun]?" then you remember it's in your hand.

But, OP, you made me laugh.
Or when I complain to the person on the phone that I can't find my phone. Only happened once, but that's all it takes.

I may as well get this story out there, too.

About a year ago I was over at my friends house and we were deciding on where to go for lunch.

I said "I could go for a hamburger...but with cheese. Could you image how awesome that would be?! A cheesy hamburger!"

To which she replied "Um..that's a cheeseburger."

I'll never live that down. Mostly because she brings it up at any mention of a cheeseburger just to bust my ass. I though I had a great idea, too.....

I remember once, years ago (when i was a kid) i was playing LEGO with my friend. I needed a certain piece, and started looking for it. I was 100% sure that i had seen it before somewhere. I walked both floors of the house trough, but didn't saw it. As i was walking up the stairs again, quite depressed, i wanted to use my right hand to hold the railing, and suddenly spotted that the whole bloody time that one piece was in my hand. Like, what the hell? How did i not notice something like that??? I laughed at myself, and then went on to tell the story to my friend, who also lol'd.

I spent about 20 minutes searching frantically for my 360 controller... only to learn it was right in front of me, on my computer desk, the whole freakin' time.

Obvious place is not so obvious, I suppose. *U_U*
