If you want some real recommendations, then it will be a lot easier if you give some examples of other anime you are into.

Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni.

It's a comedy with a surprisingly involved plot. If you enjoy a few laughs with your webs of intrigue, there you go.
Comedy!? If you are serious then you must have only seen about 2 clips on youtube or something. I'm guessing that you're just trolling though and I've fallen right into your trap. In fact, I'm now about 99% sure you are dicking around and I've been made to look like a fool.

Since that list probably covers everything likely to be mentioned in this thread, we can all stop bumping it.

Cheers.
You have douche running through your veins. Get over yourself.

Cheers.
I was totally trolling, man.

Also, I checked that list. It's pretty comprehensive...

OP: Check out Black Blood Brothers. ALLITERATION IS FUN! Also, the main character, Jirou, has a PIMPIN' hat.

That or Jing the Bandit King if you don't really mind repetition. (Jing only has one attack, really, and it's Kir Royale. Which is used pretty much every episode at least once.)

Beelzebub. Baby demon lord teams up with the most badass guy in the world.

Lots of hijinx and comedy, with a dash of good action thrown in.
Also maybe this. I can't say for sure because I only read the manga.

But the manga has a naked baby in literally every page. EVERY DAMN PAGE

I'm still updating it as I go, I only started making it like three days ago, and I've forgotten to add a lot of stuff.

Still updating it as I see a show I remember I've seen but haven't added.
...To Aru Majutsu no Index II? There was a second season?!

Anywho, that's another one OP. To Aru Majutsu no Index has the only protagonist to out evil laugh an antagonist. :x

It's fairly unique as a Shonen anime, since the protagonist starts out weak...and ends the series just as weak. (The light novels are a COMPLETELY different story, but that's the light novels.)

Okay so, I am kinda new here but in a recent random check of the first 20 pages of the "off topic" section I came across like 5 of these threads.
Why not just use one of them instead of wasting everyones time making a thread where everyone will just parrot the exact same answers all the other threads got.
Honestly you're not the only one who is sick of these threads. Someone should just ask a mod to sticky one damn thread for this and let the conversation go there. It is getting ridiculous.

OT. I don't care if you listen, but just watch Brotherhood or Cowboy Bebop. Someone is bound to post them and most likely already have.

Taking note of that List posted by Zekksta.
Initial D - It's a cool looking car commercial lol,
Occult Academy - Really fun series, good subtle jokes,
Otaku no Video - Can be entertaining,
Fruit Basket - Not my cup of tea,
Moyashimon: Tales of Agriculture - Only show to feature crossdressing that I'd probably ever watch...
KuroKami - A bit generic, really cool fight scenes, but the exact same thing can be said about Naruto I'd assume.

Also, Higurashi does have a lot of comedic elements for example most of Rei is full blown comedy.

Air TV. Its one of my favorate under rated animes. Watch the movie (Theirs also a series and its pretty emotionally touching but the ending is a "Bwahh did that really happen?" moment it was still good though) its really damn sad but really damn good.

Death Note is the best anime I've seen, I'd definitely recommend it if you haven't watched it yet. Bleach is also pretty decent.

*sigh*

OK, I'm going to be totally up front here. I have never been interested in anime, and I plan on staying that way. I'm posting because I have a question that's been bugging me for a long time.

Why is it that fans of anime are so damn indecisive? I mean, I'm not saying that you guys take up ALL the "Recommend me an 'X'" threads, but you still have a pretty healthy fucking majority on your side. I mean sure, every now and then we get a "Recommend me a good FPS" or "Recommend me a good Fantasy book" or something of that nature, but for everyone of those, it seems like there's at least 2 or 3 threads looking for anime.

So...Why? What is it about anime that you can't just find it yourself? Has anyone else picked up on this? Am I just crazy?

Is there any realistic anime out there? (realistic setting, I mean. Something like Barefoot Gen)

Great Teacher Onizuka. (GTO). It's rather a long series, but it's hilarious, really excellent, and very anime-ish. It's about an idiotic, perverted, but kind-hearted delinquent of a teacher (previously head of a biker gang) who barely manages to get a job at a prestigious school but is only hired to deal with the school's "problem class".

Also Ranma 1/2, but it's really effing long.

Also Ghost Hound. It's 22 episodes, a haunting and brooding story with an excellent theme song, but it's really slow paced. It could be cut down to a 12-episode series and lose nothing if not atmosphere. I like it because it's super well written, everyone reacts to and converses with one another in a really realistic manner.

Toradora is probably one of the better romances I've seen, as it focuses on a small cast of really good characters and has tons of subtle layers in the dialogue. Also really well written, though most translators don't do it justice.

EDIT: No-one's recommended Cowboy Bebop yet, surprisingly. Best anime ever. Just watch it.
Oh, and FLCL. Second-best anime ever. Watch that too.
I'd recommend these as well (Though I've never watched Ghost Hound). I've watched all of Ranma 1/2 and I wish there was more of it...

I'd also recommend Soul Eater, Black Lagoon, and Gun x Sword, Look em up if you get a chance!

Haha, I'm really bad at detecting these things on the internet...

You may think it was rude, but everything mentioned in this thread so far is on that list.

It's actually extremely helpful, more-so than your post which contributed nothing, except to insult somebody.

Cheers.

Cheers.
You just posted a giant list of anime names without any personal opinion or thoughts behind them and told everyone else to stop posting. Searching "good anime" on google would probably have similar results, so no, you are not being "extremely helpful".

EDIT: For the record, I don't think the people just putting names of animes are being particularly helpful either, but they didn't have the shitty attitude you have.

I haven't really dug into anime real deep at all, so those'll do just fine thanks.

I'm going to recommend Dennou Coil, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Galaxy Angel, Boogiepop Phantom, Ichigo Mashimaro, Kashimashi, Nanoha, Minami-ke and Moyashimon just to spite you.

EDIT: But I do agree with what you posted just above this. There *are* too many of these threads, and it shouldn't be difficult for the OP to find what he's looking for with the search bar.
