What happened to chivalry? During my whole childhood my dad taught me to be respectful to women. I would open doors for them, I wouldn't cuss in front of them, I would help them when they needed it. Hell the only fight I ever got into was beacuse I saw some dude hit a girl.

Yet after everything I do, I'm still left for the douchebag whose only goal is to get in her pants? I see it all the time. It is always some thug or some hippie/emo whatever who thinks he cool. I mean it seems that you have to spend over 20 minutes each day on your hair in order to get noticed anymore.

I wish I was born at least 2 generations ago.

Here's a tip: It's good to be nice to girls, but don't try to act like a complete gentlemen all the time, otherwise you'll be seen as nothing other than a friend. Rather, flirt and joke around a bit, so they see you as possible dating material than just a "sweet guy", and make your move.

This is a false dichotomy. Just because being pathetically nice is unattractive doesn't mean being an insensitive jerk is the only possible way to be attractive. In fact, I'd argue it's also unattractive. Confidence and charm aren't inexorably tied together with being a jerk, despite what Hollywood and lonely/rejected internet forum users might tell you.

Now it's just a theory, but here's what I'm thinking. Cause you can trust an asshole to be an asshole all the time, due to human nature, you can't trust a genuinely nice person to be nice 100% of the time.

I was raised in a similar manner and women have always taken advantage of my better nature. Like a poste above said, women who don't appreciate the effort you put into treating them properly, they aren't worth your time. If they're not going to date a sensible guy, they deserve what's coming to them: infidelity, heartbreak and STDs.

The problem is see, there are actually genuine cases out there where a girl is lured in by a nice face and personality, but it turns out to be bait. Maybe that's why girls avoid nice guys? Cause they think it's only the honey to get them into the trap. My girlfriend was in a relationship like that and she was so sure of herself that the nice mask he put on for her would come back someday.

Up until whenever they mature, relationship wise, girls will go for the bad boys. This can happen until they're 14, or 40. I had my bad boy phase up until I was 18 and then just sort of grew out of it.

Also, just like guys, most girls do care about physical appearance. You don't have to be a model or anything, but just look groomed.

Have to say, there's a lot of truth in this.

To expand with my own views, however, here's a more optimistic way of looking at things:

The more asshole girls that go off with asshole guys, the more it clears the way for nice guys to hook up with nice girls.

Just be a huge great flirt. It worked for me when I was sixteen-seventeen, I had every girl in my friendship-group fancy me at some point because I acted super-confident and flirted like hell. Now I've calmed down a lot, haven't changed much appearance-wise, and I doubt there's a single girl even considering me right now because I took a hit to my confidence. Everyone likes a flirt, it's actually quite perplexing to see in action.
