Skipping School

Several of my peers and friends skip VERY often. Some people have as many as 20 absences in just a single semester. Yet they are all on track to graduate, because of the several make up programs our school offers.

This has made me mad.
I can't say I'm mad at all those people who are going to graduate with the same diploma as I am though.
No, I'm mad at myself.
I'm mad at myself for never just taking a day off and seizing the day.

So, before I graduate I want to skip at least once.
I have a truck, my parent's approval, some friends to tag along, and about $250.
However, being a stereotypical nerd I have no idea on how to spend a day off.

Anyone have any general ideas on what I could do?

I never skipped a day of school in my life. Not worth it and my friends didn't do it either.
But if you want to...go to the movies.

I don't skip, as I miss enough school due to illness.
You should just hang out and play video games while skipping. It'll be fun to kick back for a day. You should also text a lot of people at your school and laugh at them for having to be there.

You know, I never skipped a day of school until I got to college. I don't regret it either. Skipping these days in college has really been bad for my academics. I'm kind of mad that I have taken days off.

As to you, though, I would suggest going out for breakfast or lunch. Then just spending the day hanging out with your friends. Maybe spend some of your money on a new game and you and your friends can take the day to play through it. Or, perhaps, as suggested above, go see a movie.

I wanted to skip school with my friends but one of my parents taught in the school it was pretty impossible. In terms of ideas they used to go get drunk so thats an option, buy drink, find a field/other suitable place and get locked.
Or else buy a bunch of food, a disposable barbecue and just relax.
Or a combination of both

Ehh, I'm not really to concerned about "missing out" on an education or anything.
It's the week before finals and I don't think any of my classes are doing anything besides reviews.

Also these suggestions are great, I don't know why I couldn't think of this stuff on my own... I guess my "fun" muscle is broken.

Hmm. You've posted this thread on a special day called "Senior Skip Day" in my town where all of the seniors don't come to school.

Personally, I think you should take our friends and truck and take over France.

Either that or play video games. I guess it's up to you.

And there's always the Ferris Beuller option.

Sleep..? I skip any classes that are either worthless to attend, or require me to forcefully interact with people I don't know and have no interest in knowing. The former is usually tutorial time, a class dedicated to teaching morons how to think properly, it just serves to wake me up 2 hours earlier though. There's usually at least 1 or 2 lessons worthy of skipping each week, this one is always worthy. The latter I despise, and I can only make it sound a bit less arrogant by quoting somebody who says it in a song, cool right!?

I get surrounded by the friendliest of strangers who would sooner kill themselves than give a fuck if I were dead.

But yeah.. sleep, wake up late, play video games. Good? Good.

alright man here's what you do (run on sentence approaching), you go down to the Wal-Mart and go to the back section of the store and find the guy selling the weed and then buy the weed and go back to your car and smoke it and drive and then get the gun out of the glove compartment and try to hit the signs on the street while playing Van Halen on the stereo and then crash the car into a bus stop then get out, pour gasoline on it and burn it then run away (remember to keep smoking the weed the entire time) and as your running die.

Nah, just kidding. You couldn't do that.

You'd only be able to buy 2 oz of weed with that much money.

Go to the local Taco Del Mar.

When I was actually still in school, it became so intolerable due to constant harassment from students and teachers alike that I would skip practically everyday.

I'd hide out somewhere in the school during classes and sometimes, just not go at all.

In my last year at school, I had racked up over 40 absences in 2 months alone.

But as for you, I don't know, do whatever the hell you want. Go to the movies, fuck up the school, go shopping, or whatever the fuck you want.

Pfffft. I do triple that in an entire year, for the last 5 years (ages 12-17) and I've never had to do any sort of makeup courses, up until this year, where I stopped going all together and started home schooling.

I'm smart enough to do the work and get top grades, but I just REALLY fucking hate going :<.

For anyone who doesn't know math, that's 60 days out of a possible 180, which is roughly One Third of the entire school year.

I skipped somewhere around 15-20% in my senior high school year, and I still graduated in the top tier of my class. Skipping school is almost like a drug in that respect: worth it if you can handle it, otherwise fucking drop it.
