This topic already exists. Its on the Most Commented list at the bottom of the page, and pretty much impossible to miss if you're even half paying attention.

Use the Search Bar.

I've already commented there, so I see no reason to say my piece here. Read that thread for details.

Ok so we got a end up of sexy nurse (how the hell sexy nurse became a common trope I do not know, but it is).

And let's see there's 2 other women with cleavage. One can remove her own head and still be alive. The other has massive arms growing out of her head.

And the rest ... fairly unique.

Yeah not seeing the sexism.
That's clearly a hat, not her head. Filia and Parasoul are also clearly drawn to look sexy, that's hard to deny.

But that's still not sexism.

I should have used. But the text that is published on the first post is not present in the other
thread. Check it out, it is a complete answer from one of the creators to the subject.

Oh, Ms. Fortune can REALLY remove her head... And it is hilarious.

=x...You should read the OP again. The only people who complained about Skullgirls being sexist were guys.
Yup.

It's likely safe to say that the only people getting their nuts in a knot over this are the self-righteous "white knights."

God forbid a number of fictional women don't look horrifying.
I'm a woman and I'm, getting tired of women being sex objects in games. Can't they just be characters?!

It's not hard to have a character design where a woman looks pretty/sexy but not like a hooker.

That's a character from a kids/teen show admittedly but you know what's nice about it? She looks pretty but she also has some attitude about her she is standing in an assertive pose and her expression reveals a lot about her character.

I think you would be able to get a clear impression of what the deal is about that character is by looking at her right?

That's what women get bothered by when we see characters who are sex objects. It's not that they have no clothes on. It's that they are twisted into contorted and sexy poses. They are there for the man reading the comic/playing the game not for themselves. Sex appeal is the only reason for their existence.

Hmm.

I'll just be leaving this here. [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/114581-Skullgirls-Dev-Dismisses-Cries-of-Sexism]

There's a forum about this already, am I missing something here?
Oh, my. I'm not sure what to think about a site dedicated around "helping geek guys get the girl" and that stuff about the "friend zone", but that article, at the very least, was spot on.

It's also not sexist toward men, doesn't call men "sexist pigs", or anything like that. The male privilege it explains is very, very real. It's not much of a "joke played straight", when what it said should be understood as very, very obviously true.

Oh, and this [http://geekfeminism.org/2011/11/03/quick-hit-sexism-in-games-bingo/] is gold. Pure gold. Automatically added to my bookmarks.

You've never seen one of those bingo cards before? They're the epitome of pointlessness.
That was the epitome of a hilariously true depiction of the reality of male privilege.

My cousin (a female gamer, BTW) posted this link to her facebook wall yesterday that I think rings true pretty well for this argument. I was gonna put this in its own thread, because I think it's really interesting, but I think I'll gauge the reaction here first.

Nerds and Male Privilege [http://www.doctornerdlove.com/2011/11/nerds-and-male-privilege/all/1/]

Yeah, that's what we're dealing with when confronting sexism in nerd culture guys.
Yeah, all guys should just admit that we are, in fact sexist pigs. Oh what's that you say? You don't think you're a sexist pig? Well do you have a Penis? Yes? Well then you are! discussion over!
You don't see male privilege, you disagree with me?

Well that's just your privilege talking, and it shows how right I am.

In this case privilege is a lot like a fairy, you only see it if you already believe in it.
No, I do see male privelege.

Yes, I do disagree with you.

There is a problem with the way women are portrayed in the video game industry. Is it sexist? Yes. Does it need to change? That would probably be a good idea. Does it go both ways? Yes it does. Does this mean that all women are a bunch of man hating feminazis? Nope! Does it mean that all men are a bunch of misogynistic pigs? Nope.

Im all for trying to better the industry and making more eglitarian. I want more trench coat wearing ugly girls with small boobs and I want more skinny guys in skin tight outfits. And Yaoi! More Yaoi! I don't care. Im perfectly secure in my own sexuality and I know that I will never look like Marcus Fenix or even Dante from Devil May Cry. Variety is the spice of life and currently the video gaming industry (as well as the community) could do with a bit more quirkyness and well...variety!

But at the same time, I refuse to take on the stigma of "all gaming geeks are sexist pigs!"

Have a good day.

Edit: Sorry about the confusion. Seems I somehow managed to get the quotes screwed up. I hate being overworked.

Me thinking that bingo cards are pointless is because of my male privilege?
I wasn't directing that at you, the words "male privilege" were directed at society, the gaming community, and the tendency for gaming discussions to go hilariously exactly like that bingo game. Meaning that pretty much every time a discussion about sexism in video games comes up, you can expect to get a bingo or two. And those are all ridiculous nonsensical statements that nobody should make, and help support male privilege, yet nonetheless pop up in almost every discussion about sexism in video games.

Speaking of which, I bet I could make a bingo in this topic alone. Want to see if we can try?

Edit: I mean, just read em'.

- But men are all super-buff, they?re sexually objectified too!
- Chainmail bikinis are unrealistic, but?s not realistic for a woman to be fighting anyway.
- But we have equality, there are nonsexualised female characters, like? Samus except when she takes off her Suit?
- So you think all female characters should be ugly and dress in burqas.
- How can it be sexist when women in REAL history were their husband?s property? How can it be sexist when women in REAL life are weaker and wear less clothing than men?
- But there are sexualised male characters, like? uh, Marcus Fenix is sexy, right? I don?t know, I?m not a fag.
Oh God, my sides hurt.
