I already have Skyrim on pre-order. Even if I didn't it would never be a question, Skyrim is a must have for me, MW3 is just something that piqued my interest. You would never be able to lead me away from Skyrim with the option to get another game instead.

Skyrim.

No competition,
Linear story games do not compare to any Bethesda game.
MW3 Multiplayer will be the same as MW2 + BLOPS with different guns.

I'm sorry, but honestly, MW3 doesn't even deserve the time of day compared to Battlefield 3. This goes equally so for Skyrim. No offence OP, you're probably a most excellent individual, but it was a stupid question.

I think the question is more whether you'll buy mw3 or bf3 if you like FPS games. Skyrim and MW3 are two completely different games.
That said, I'm going to buy bf3 and Skyrim, I don't see any reason to buy the same game again and again for a full price.

The choices are:

A game that, however flawed they often may be, nobody can deny Bethesda pour all their passion and effort into to make the most amazing sandbox RPG experience possible.

Or

The same dudebro dogshit that plagues the rest of the industry and you are never more than two feet away from stepping in.

Something like Skyrim will always take priority over some game thats main poin of focus is "lets spent most of the game shooting everything near on constantly".

Its why ME3 is in big danger of my not bothering to set aside more cash in march next year.

ME3s coverage was essentially, bar some pretty shit kinect gimmick, a bogstandard CoD, Gears of War, Halo style gameplay cover.

I dont give a fuck about Mass Effects shooter mechanics, and so naturally I found nothing particularly worthwhile from them at E3. Of course, it was the same with ME2, and the game turned out to reflect the E3 coverage fully, in that ultimately the thing it concerned itself with the most was the "moment to moment visceral emotionally engaging action experience".

So yeah, huge, deep creative RPG trumps frat boy shooter bait every friggin time.

Mmmmm, a huge open world game which took God knows how long to make or another bland shooter?

Skyrim without a doubt, to me FPS games suck as they are all the same.

I'll get both, it's just that I'm a bigger Elder Scrolls fanboy and by its nature I'll spend more time playing it. In fact, Minecraft final release is on the same day too... sorry MW3, you're going to have to wait!

Who plays Modern Warfare?
Ha ha ha... redundance.

Skyrim will likely cause me to fail my second University year.
I think I'll play a Spellsword.

"Assassin's Creed: Revelations" comes out four days later, too, and that was my main interest for the year until I watched the "Skyrim" demo on G4. Honestly, I don't know how I'm going to make it through the fall. Hopefully I can finish "Dark Souls" in the month before "Skyrim" and "Revelations" come out, and then maybe get through "Revelations" before settling into "Skyrim" for what I imagine could be the remainder of my holiday season. I probably won't even play "Modern Warfare 3," to be honest.

Skyrim, I can't wait! Screw MW3.

This, as I typically don't play FPS games.

I would have a much harder time choosing between Skyrim and Deus X human revolution however, as there are the two titles that I'm waiting for this year.

I've got Skyrim preordered and I have a 2 week holiday booked off from work to sit and play it.

Short answer: Skyrim.

Seriously, I'm a fan of Call of Duty, but I'm still fine with Black Ops, thus:
Screw MW3, I'll go for SKYRIM
