The choices are:
A game that, however flawed they often may be, nobody can deny Bethesda pour all their passion and effort into to make the most amazing sandbox RPG experience possible.
Or
The same dudebro dogshit that plagues the rest of the industry and you are never more than two feet away from stepping in.
Something like Skyrim will always take priority over some game thats main poin of focus is "lets spent most of the game shooting everything near on constantly".
Its why ME3 is in big danger of my not bothering to set aside more cash in march next year.
ME3s coverage was essentially, bar some pretty shit kinect gimmick, a bogstandard CoD, Gears of War, Halo style gameplay cover.
I dont give a fuck about Mass Effects shooter mechanics, and so naturally I found nothing particularly worthwhile from them at E3. Of course, it was the same with ME2, and the game turned out to reflect the E3 coverage fully, in that ultimately the thing it concerned itself with the most was the "moment to moment visceral emotionally engaging action experience".
So yeah, huge, deep creative RPG trumps frat boy shooter bait every friggin time.
