Well we have a game who's campaign is 5 hours against a game who's campaign is 300+ filled with epicness. Not hard to decide in my oppinion. Besides, i'm not even getting MW3, I dont want to pour more money down the drain just to get the same re-released game ever year

Although i've never played an elder scrolls game, I might buy skyrim.
I'd say Oblivion is still worth checking out if you want a preview of what "Skyrim" might be like. After all these years, its age is showing, but if you've ever played a "Fallout" game, it should be easy enough to pick up, though this is an even more expansive open world. But my copy's glitch as fuck now. I haven't beaten it yet because I lost my first character to the red ring of death, and the progress I've made on my new Xbox came to a hault after I kept freezing up halfway through one of the later core missions.

I'm suprised and delighted at how many people chose skyrim over mw3. I will either save up all me pennies and buy skyrim straight away or wait for the game of the year edition. Unless i have a pile of money and free time suddenly rush in i won't buy mw3. I'm sure i can just play it at a freind's place.

Modern Warfare 3. Didn't play the series (Elder Scrolls) before, sadly.
No reason that can't change!

It's not like you have to have played Oblivion and Morrowind to understand the plot.

As for me.
I'll lock myself in my room, say goodbye to all my friends.
And I won't come out until I have a beard the size of a double-decker bus.

I'm gonna buy, and enjoy both. Probably go MW3 first, since I can blow through the single player in a one day binge, then get Skyrim for some good fucking long term fun. I like having a decent payed job.

I figure I'll wait and see how hard of a kick to the groin skyrim is to those of us who remember morrowind before I even consider buying it. They're making another cod game eh, that's unsurprising...Rather than buying it surely it would be better fun to re-install one of the old call of duty games from before they nerfed the single player and broke the multiplayer.

On a somewhat related point, what are the chances of the next COD game actually working properly on PC this time around, it's only their 4th full game released on the engine..... (BLOPS was tempermental at best).

Battlefield 3, definately.
Then I'll get Skyrim around hopefully the same time.
However, due to Battlefield 3 being the distinctly shorter of the two, I'll play that first.
MW3 can wait until it's £25 or less, now that I saw some gameplay of it.

At least Black Ops tried something different with the story, and in my opinion, pulled it off. MW3 just looked like minimum effort had gone in.
That bit where you drive a Zodiac boat through wrecked ships? The guy in front had the exact fucking same animations that Captain Price did when you drove the boat as soap in MW2. Fucking ridiculous.

Contrary to the worldwide norm, I bloody dispised Oblivion. It was awful in nearly every sense when I played it, and I'm genuinely puzzled as to how people rated it so highly.
Skyrim, however, seems to have fixed everything I hated about Oblivion, and then done more.
I think it's worth getting for the Dragon fights alone, but then the animations looked so well done, and the combat looked far less like total shit and much more like fun and badass.

I still think Battlefield 3 is going to be better than both, to be honest.

Uh, Skyrm for damn sure. I'll take dragons any day over "generic military shooter" three. Or three thousand, whatever we're at now.

I've yet to regret leaving CoD after 4. And I even if I cared a little about mw3, it would still be eclipsed by Skyrim. No contest.
My position is a carbon copy of yours. I was vaguely interested in MW2 when I played it a friend's, but not enough to even consider buying it.

Skyrim will consume my soul.
