Of course, regular gamers who haven't been playing Skyrim non-stop for the past year - or designing it for that matter - probably won't get through the game quite that fast.

Ok, no, not really. I'm the kind who spends most of his time ignoring main quest and procrastinating by walking slowly through the scenery and all that. But my kudos to this playtester, even when I haven't played the game, I know that's gotta be quite impressive.

Am I supposed to be impressed? I'm more worried that the game will be terrible. I still play oblivion occasionally, will I be able to play this that long? probably not. Oblivion's story was longer. I've played through more than enough times.

My internal cynic says it'' be longer once you pump 40 bucks worth of dlc into the game, but Maybe this is the norm, as I've never played this way,

I goof off, raid tombs, become the bauss of every group in the land.

Part of me however did that under the notion that you had to be strong in order to win the endgame content of an rpg, but the game scales so hell to a level 1 is puppies and kittens with the devil giving you candy while you hit him with the stick you got in the sewer. For a level 30, grand champion, archmage, grey fox, master assassin, fighters guild boss etc it gets a lot harder.

seems like a design flaw to have scaling baddies in this manner.

If 2 hours is the best that a speed runner can do...that actually bodes pretty well. I mean, Morrowind is not a short game, yet speed runners can beat it in seven minutes. Most players take about 2 hours (if skilled enough) to beat Mega Man 2. Some speed runners? 37 minutes on Difficult. You can't judge the length of a game just by the speed run time. Hell, I could have beaten Oblivion in 2 hours if I hadn't done any sidequests. But why would I? That's missing so much of the game.

Also, looking at the last name, I have to say this. Something, Something, Leonard Bernstein.
My best unassisted Oblivion speedrun took me i think about 45 minutes. I'm pretty sure you can do it faster.

So knowing tricks to speed past quests in ok. but that means also the difficulty is also messed up i dont know finishing a game in 2 hour that took months and months to make....meh
I usually always spend extra time finishing games compared to my friends Because i take in the game world as much as possible.

Not that I would even attempt to try something like that, but that's impressive. Still, I can't help but feel that a speed-run through a game like Skyrim is 'doing it wrong'. Games like that are meant for you to take your time in and explore. I mean, he probably missed a substantial amount of content by doing that.

And somebody seems to be interesting in marrying an argonian...

Eh, someone finished Morrowind in 15 minutes once. Windwalker scrolls do that. In other news, they'd better bring levitation back.

I don't understand how it's a good thing that he beat the game so fast. It's like someone getting an award for breaking a matress in two days. Sure, he was probably having sex with an elephant on it, but why would you buy a matress if you know it can get worn out in just two days?
I know, right? What good did they think it would be to let everyone know ahead of the launch that it's possible to finish the game that fast? Haven't we already got enough games that can be blazed through in a handful of hours?

Probably the dumbest bit of pre-launch marketing I've seen in a long, long time.

Ok that's impressive and all, but why would you want to finish a game like Skyrim or Fallout 3 that quickly? I mean you can't really enjoy it if you're speeding through it.

How did he beat Skyrim in 2 hours? And how did he beat Fallout 3 in 75 Minutes? It takes me that long to walk from one town to the next! Bloody hell....

I have put a couple of hundred hours into Oblivion and I've never seen the ending to it, I havn't even got half way through the main quest. Several characters over multiple years and I never thought of bothering with it. Same with Morriwind now that I think about it.

So this doesn't really affect me but it is comforting reading the comparison to FO3's time. Sounds like I'll have alot to look forward to if I ever bother with the main quest line xD

Wow, that is really a fast time. I'm guessing it's because he....

wait....

Dynasty of Lizard children?!?

I'm going to pre-order this right now :D

OT: for serious though, that's lightning fast. I am positive he only got the score because he knew the exact path to and from each location etc.

I'm looking forward to this more and more

central story in RPGs is always a breeze to go through. I'm sure you could beat Fallout 3s story even quicker if you know where to look for your dad right off the bat.

So, all that hype and it turns out to be even shorter than your average Call of Duty campaign?

Fuck that.

Pardon me folks, I need to cancel my pre-order.

Pretty sad actually. I had hoped they put a bit more effort into the main story...
Oh well, the game will last me for a long while in either case.
