Lots of awesome fights in Skyrim. Of all the ones you have participated in, which has been your favorite? Tell a little bit of its epicness. There will probably be spoilers for sure in this thread, so remember to advance at your own caution, and if you post some kind of quest battle, perhaps it would be best to put the spoiler tags up.

So I have ventured through Skyrim for a decent amount now. I have had some fun battles, but one remains the most challenging, meaningful, and engaging so far. This has some implications towards the College of Winterhold. So again, advance at your own peril.

I had entered Labyrintian in search of the Staff of Magnus to stop that one guy that everyone knew was gonna be evil the moment you walked into the College. Honestly, one the best dungeons I've been in so far. A skeletal dragon to start it off. Like most dragons, not hard, but damn fun.

Anyways, I got to the end of the dungeon and I see this guy in a ball of light. A dragon priest named Morokei. I killed the two mobs encasing him in this protective ball of light. And then the true battle was on. He hit hard. His lightning attacks drained half my health and took plenty of my magicka away. My first instinct was I can't be absorbing hits from this guy, or it'll be a painfully short fight. Thanks to the architecture of the room, I didn't have to get hit. I shot fireballs and ducked behind pillars. Then I took out my staff and this intense magic duel took place. Him and I shooting all shorts of different electrical strikes back and forth. After a damn long magical fight, he fell. I had the Staff and his bomb ass mask.

Yeah, that has been my favorite battle so far. It was easily a couple minutes long. It had me on the edge of my seat, because two false moves and I would've died. So again, what's your favorite story?

Please note, I've watched the forums the last week pretty closely, and haven't seen any topics of similar content. If there have been, then please feel free to report me so the topic can get taken down.

The one I most enjoyed wasn't that epic. In fact it's anti-epicness is what made it so fun. Basically I came upon an old fort guarded by three bandits. They took out bows and fired at me. I was a fair distance away they missed. Since they were using steel arrows, and I was a bit short of those I picked them up. The next 10 minutes was me dancing a jig to avoiding the arrows, and then picking them off the ground. I was just laughing at getting so many free arrows, but after a while I had plenty of arrows and so I killed them...with their own arrows... which I then went and got back.

A battle with my first Blood Dragon in the court of the Winterhold College. Had me jumping from pillar to pillar to protect myself against it's horribly powerful flamebreath, only to jump out dual-wielding big fireballs like some kind of Magical Neo. It was pretty awesome.

The one I will most remember is getting into a fight with a swarm of Forsworn, getting bloodied up and hiding behind a pillar to heal, and picking up one of their fallen comrades armor to improve it later. Upon picking it up I realize I'm overencumbered so I drop some other stuff, one of the Forsworn sheathes his weapons walks calmly over to where I dropped the stuff, picks it up and hands it back to back to me saying "You should be more careful where you drop your stuff" then walks away completely non-aggressive. After standing there dumfounded for a moment I run up and decapitated him in one fell swoop.

I haven't had many great fights yet, but I recent one certainly had an amazing premise premise despite not being too difficult. No real spoilers for this one, but an interesting premise just the same.

I had just completed the first quest after being recruited by the Companions (Ranniveg's Fist, or something along those lines), but before I entered I had noticed a nearby dragon shrine on my compass. So after completing what I had came there for, I decided to run up the mountain and get whatever the new dragon shout would be. Of course, there's always a dragon near the shrines; and indeed, I had heard the thing before doing the dungeon.

Anyhow, I started to move up the mountain path... and the blood dragon noticed me!
Seems I was going to get a good fight before reaching the shrine. Unfortunately, I play a melee character (minimal ranged attacks, and they're rather weak); the dragon was refusing to land (or stay still enough for me to get enough hits in), and I couldn't find a slope which would take me to the top of the mountain. I had to find another way, and indeed there was a cave-path (for the lack of a better term) nearby which would hopefully bring me to the other side of the mountain and to a path which would take me to the top. So forgetting about the blood dragon for now, I run into the cavern.

Inside the cavern was a frost troll. If I were still at a low-level, this would've been next to impossible. However, I am not. I finally managed to get some payback for that damned annoying one I had to run around to get to High Hrothgar. Easy kill, and time to head to the out and onto the other side of the mountain.

Just outside the door, the blood dragon notices me again. He's throwing down a few breath attacks, but the path is far too narrow for it to land on; it's time to climb up to the top. And so the real fun begins.

Running up the path, the dragon swooping in every so often to blast me with it's breath, I run into two more frost trolls. Not too difficult, but definitely something to add to the excitement. I still have to move quickly, I'm a sitting duck on this narrow path; it's almost as if the dragon was challenging me to move towards the summit.

And indeed it was.

Upon finally reaching the top of the mountain, the blood dragon seems to willing to give me a fair fight. It lands right in front of me. Time to dance, you big lizard!

Unfortunately, it can't really put up much of a fight; my character's a great melee fighter, and one who's very good at staggering foes with his shield bash. Only took about a minute to kill after it put its feet on the ground, and it spent about half of the time stunned.

Anyhow, the lead-up to that final confrontation was superb... and predominantly based on the location, it was the perfect spot to fight a dragon. The only thing which would've made it better would be for a dragon priest to pop-up out of the shrine (a la Krosis at Shearpoint)... and/or perhaps a stronger class of dragon to fight.

Two blood dragons at once on the College of Winterhold roof. During a storm. At night.

I'm sure my next skill point was put into the Badass tree.

On my light armored dual wielding file, I charged a large forsaken camp with my dog, Vigilance. Oh, my brothers, I tell you now, I've never viddied such acts of of ultra-violence in all my life. It was real horror show like.

After about 11 dead forsaken, the last 3 in the camp killed Vigilance. I was out for blood. I continued on to another Forsaken camp, this one populated with about 6 of them. A combination of dragon shouts and Nordic brutality spelled their end, their blood spilled in the name of my fallen brother, Vigilance. Ever since then, I've held a personal vendetta against the Forsaken.

Best battle i've had so far was when I was doing one of the capture the fort missions for the Stormcloaks. I guess the game glitched or something so the Stormcloak soldiers didn't show up so it was just me against a shit load of Legion soldiers. Luckily I was a high enough level so their attacks didn't do much damage against me but with all of them focusing their attention on me it was starting to add up. But it made me feel like a total badass taking on such a large force like that by myself.

I climbed up the mountain where you get the Frost Shout, looking at the ruins. Suddenly a dragon that had disguised itself as part of the ruins burst out and started burning shit. Lydia fired off arrows at him while Meeko clawed at its wings, but it wasn't doing much good.

I pull out my bow, and despite my low archery score, manage to score a hit on the bastard while he's flying around. The dragon crashed into the side of the mountain. I look over the edge, thinking it's dead, and the fucking thing is still trying to climb up the side! Knowing there was only one way to end it, I jumped off the side of the mountain, landed on the dragon and cleaved it's skull in with my greatsword.

The battle against some dragon and Krosis, at the same time... it was my first encounter with a Lich/Dragon Priest/etc., and it was damn painful. Dodging Krosis' fireballs I eventually took out the dragon and hid behind a cliff to regenerate. I saved and began to fight Krosis. Took a few tries but I finally found a location where unless he scored a direct hit, his fireballs wouldn't hit me. Finally, I landed the final blow and the battle was over.

The one most memorable to me was me vs. a giant and a blood dragon.
The battle was exhausting, but I shot down the dragon as he was landing, and I put up several fire walls between me and the giant.

Well I joined the Mages college early. I mean like at lv 7. So at Lv 9 I had to fight that asshole in the labyrinth. Literally all I did was throw fire balls at him from a distance till he saw me, ran up to these iron doors, shut them behind me and ran into the next hall way. Yeah that fight took me a good 30 mins =^/

Probably a fight against an Elder Dragon, just out in the Wilderness, with these two random towers. I had no health potions, it did a shit ton of damage, so it ended with me ducking and weaving in and out of these towers shooting it with a bow until it crash landed and I hacked the shit out of it with an Ebony greatsword.

i had just slaughtered a legion camp and was running off towards the horizon in my werewolf form when i heard the roaring of a dragon, sure enough this great beast lands next to me, to see it was something spectacular, a werewolf and a dragon engaged in bestial, primal conflict. I jumped and clawed at the dragon, tearing through it's scales with ease until it finally fell.

There I was, heading over to my quest objective. I pass over a hill, and hear...
A dragon.
I turn, and to MY HORROR (I'm trying to make this as epic as possible) two dragons swooped down, attacking me.
I swung at the first, dealing a fair amount of damage. The second swooped past, and I use my full-powered Fire Breath shout, denting it's health bar. Soon enough, the first dragon fell. I was too far away to finish it off, and the second dragon was keeping me busy.
''FUS ROH DAAAHH''
The second dragon was stunned, giving me time to slash at the first's head.
One down, one to go.
I walk slowly to where it was preparing to land, draw my Steel Battleaxe and prepare for the last stand.
I was never a magic user (with this character, anyway), and I was out of health potions. It was all or nothing.
Luckily, it was a frost dragon, and since I was a Nord it's Ice Breath's damage was halved. I ran, hitting it square in the noggin', but it bit back, and my health plunged. One more attack and I was dead.
I yelled again, stunning it.
I walk forward.
I grabbed it by the head, climbed on top of it, and plunged my axe into it's skull.

Hell to the yes, bruva'.

This happened just yesterday night.

Me and my travel party (Myself, faithful horse Allie, my wife Aela the Huntress, and our lovable mutt Meeko) were traveling to back home to Jorrvaskr when we came across a fortress filled with bandits upon bandits upon bandits (I feel it was some sort of glitch because there was seriously a ton). As soon as they saw us they began firing arrows from the walls.

Allie and Meeko charged straight into the base to give them hell while Aela and myself stayed outside to pick off the bowmen with some of our own arrows.

Then, from seemingly nowhere, I see a giant charging into the fort! I panic, my horse and dog (Both of whom I have grown extremely attached to) are in there.

I draw my blade and shield and dash into the fray. It's chaos in the base. As I run in Allie is running out, she's safe, I'm happy. Meeko is barking and growling somewhere nearby. The giant is dealing with the bandits while the bandits scramble to take us all on. An Orc with a big old sword swings at me, a side-step and stick my blade right into his collar.

Then we hear it.

That tell-tale roar as a dragon lands right in the base! Aela follows into the base along with Allie. So for the next few minutes it's a giant cluster-you-know-what of bandits, my party, a giant, and a dragon all going at it in this now very cramped fort.

When the dragon finally falls, I realize the giant was already dead. There are several bandits still alive, who now turn their attention on me. And only me. I look to my left, across the fort... Aela is dead. Allie's corpse a few feet from her. I don't hear any barking... And it all started with these goddamn bandits.

I lose it, immediately transform into my wolf form and ravage the rest of the bandits, taking care to feed on each and every one of those sons of bitches.

Near the top of the fort walls is where I find Meeko's body... I stood near the edge of the wall and let out a loud, powerful roar of anguish (the werewolf roar is amazing)....

Then I reload my last save. No way I was gonna let them stay dead!

Only in Skyrim. I love this game.

Aww, it would have been kind of epic if you'd not reloaded and become a vengeful beast intent on wiping out the neitre Bandit population of Skyrim.

End of the Companions quests as an archer...
You kill a giant invisible wolf with a red outline who moves super fast which means the only chance you get at hitting it with a ranged attack is when it's eating your face. It kills you before you fully transform into a werewolf. You simply have to run down long narrow passage ways and shoot and run again or stack paralysis poisons.

Oh wait, it was annoying not great.

Yeah, no great battles yet. First dragon fight was kind of fun with me shooting at it from a tower but meh. I get enough enjoyment sniping people and then kitty clawing them if they get to me.

*edit cough thanks Zeno

So this bear was fighting a hunter and I ran to help him. Then 2 dragons decided to attack me. Then 2 spiders joined in and fought the dying bear. It was... Confusing, I didn't know where to aim and who to kill. Luckily I just got my Ice storm so dual cast + stagger = lulz

Also, having a 4th dragon land in the College and kill him. Then just laugh at the dancing dragon skeletons in the snow storm.
