Basically every dragon fight in a town, Riften was a particularly good one. Me and the entire riften guard spamming arrows at an Ice dragon that took a fancy to jumping on top of the orphanage and terrorizing the locals.

What? How? Did you do this fight at level 45 or something? I was in my twenties, if I recall properly, when I took him on, and it was a hell of a fight.
I was level 14ish. I just ran at him with a Skyforge steel sword, and he never hit back whilst I was hacking at him. Guess it bugged out.
Yeah, being a battlemage, I considered running at him with my nice old Dwemer war axe, but after I was hit once, I knew I was not charging him.

Rather unspectacular, really, as it was just one of those big-ass Frostbite Spiders deLuxe, but after it had killed me once, my second encounter became a rather beautifully choreographed slaughtering without me taking a scratch. Very satisfying.

So, I just had another crazy battle. I've got a group of folks with me for a quest, I won't say for what, but it's important. Regardless, my party consisted of Esbern, Delphine, my horse Shadowmere, and Sven (the guy from Riverwood who can follow you, he is now well equipped with Dragonplate armor and an Ebony greatsword). We showed up at Karthspire Camp and had a large battle with the Forsworn there ready to take place. But of course, a Blood Dragon showed up and a huge crazy battle took place. It was nuts.

The one where I was duelling.with an old woman in gamestation to trade in Bye-rim for the last limited edition copy of Skyward Sword.

There she was, about 80 years old, 5ft 2ish, greyed out hair and a newly withdrawn pension. All I had was a game and a debit card. She was enquiring with the guy about it until I went up to the next till and demanded that he get me the copy. She looked at me with a gaze that could destroy cities, but with one thrust of a natwest visa card and a swipe of a loyalty card I won the day and walked out with the golden wiimote. Truly a tale of legend!

That, dear friends, was the hardest dragon to slay and the day that the new triumphed over the old!

The Morokei fight was pretty epic, if by "epic" you mean "exceedingly long, difficult and frustrating". All the time I was there, I felt like I shouldn't be there. But with a combination of potions, quicksaving and exploiting the shit out of line of sight, I won in the end. It was an epic lightning vs lightning battle... when it happened, that is. I doubt I'll be doing any of that on my nord warrior. Which is sad because it was a cool dungeon.

Other than that, my fights with the final boss of Volunruud were pretty epic. Or not.
First time I come in, I destroy the dungeon with ease... only to get killed in 2 swipes.
I get pissed off, go get werewolf form, get myself better gear and come back. Killed in 2 swipes.
WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH THAT GUY
Yeah, the difficult massively spiked. The Dreugr were cake and then Kvenel just raped me. I come back 15 levels later and he still kicked my ass. I bravely...used Marked For Death then I ran and hid. I did that until I beat him. The game's difficulty is really weird sometimes.

My best is probably not all that impressive... as being a stealth assassin / archer means I usually don't end up in a fight in the first place. Everything just dies... but I was up poking around red eagle redoubt and ran into a group of forsworn... these guys are the ultimate cowards and will turn tail and run when they get to half health.

I pick one off in stealth from the tower and the momentum from the shot was enough to knock him down the side. Then I had another injured to the point where he started running away... then he turned around and ran TOWARDS me... so I whipped out a dagger, and slashed him just when he got to the staircase... he ends up sailing OVER MY HEAD and landing at the bottom of the staircase below.

A few minutes later I'm creeping around the camp, and to my surprise there's one sitting on a chair in his tent. He was barely able to get out the words "You should never have come here" before an arrow pierced his skull and he flopped about on the floor.

One of the more fun places to explore to say the least.

In a side quest this asshole with a big battleaxe killed me 4 times in a row (it was a very small room and my fragile mage body couldn't withstand that much damage), so the fifth time, I just turned into a werewolf, marched in and ripped him to pieces in about 15 seconds.
I then ate his corpse, even though it kept me as a werewolf for longer, because I was just that glad to rub his face in it.

If I ever beat this dragon priest I'll probably be more proud of that instead.

I became a vampire early on in the game, because vampires are naturally badass. Well, I was meandering across the countryside, finding random caves and camps and butchering their inhabitants to pieces, when the sun rose and caused my blood to boil. Naturally, I don't feel comfortable traveling in such conditions, so I looked for a camp where I could rest my tired bones. I slept the day away and made my way back to the city.

As I did, I chanced upon a Whiterun watchtower being seized by Bandits. Being a man of the law, I couldn't resist the call to arms, and decided to help out the outnumbered guards. To my horror, though, after we defeated the rebels, the guards all of a sudden turned on me! They wanted my vampire blood! Without realizing it, I had regressed into the final stage of vampirism, and they wanted my head.

All I could do was run. I was still at a rather early level, and I was no match for five guards, regardless of how weak they were after the bandit attack. Fortune smiled on me when I heard the familiar roar and swoop of a dragon! It hardly seemed to notice me, for it landed between me and the guards. Naturally, the guards perceived it as a much greater threat than I, giving me the chance to slip away.

I found a nearby farm belonging to a couple which had already turned in for the night. I snuck into their house and fed off of the husband's blood until my thirst had been sated. Upon completing this, I returned to the scene of the battle, where the guards were still valiantly fighting off the dragon, and only barely winning. I rejoined them, as an ally this time, and together we vanquished the beast!

It certainly wasn't the hardest fight I've been in, but running from the guards and finding the farm was certainly one of the most tense (and rewarding) moments I've had in any game.

Around level 13, I was doing one of the early College of Winterhold quests and I stumbled upon Shearpoint. Not only is it a dragon spawn point, but right next to the Word Wall is the spawnpoint for a dragon Priest named Krosis.

He was armed with a staff of fireballs and could turn my conjurations against me, and he spawned during the dragon fight. I had to spend 90% of that fight dodging and healing, using FUS to knock him over and then pelting him firebolts once I'd slayed the dragon. Entire fight took about 20 minutes or so.

If nothing else, I got a sweet staff out the deal and healthy appreciation for my Highborn ability. Thank god it was near midnight.

On that note, anyone got any information on Dragon Priest locations? I already took out Morokei and I'd rather get it here than at the wiki.

It was the first random dragon encounter I've had in the game. I was still at the beginning, I don't remember which level I had but it was right outside of Ivarestead.
I wanted to travel to Riften when I got attacked by 4 or 5 wolves. I thought, no problem, and started killing them. Surprisingly, the dramatic music of Skyrim started to play. I was wondering why it was playing because there were only a pack of wolves. I had killed two wolves when I saw a shadow on the ground. I looked up and saw the dragon fly above me, just when he breathed fire on me, which killed the remaining wolves.
Now this was my first random dragon encounter and didn't know that well how to fight him or how hard it would be. I was entirely concentrated on fighting the dragon, when I saw that my health bar was going down for no apparent reason, since the dragon was just flying around me but not attacking. I turn around and see a bear, that's been hitting me for a while and at that time I had real problems fighting bears. I didn't have much life left, so I ran back to Ivarestead. Nearly the whole town came to help me and started fighting the dragon and the bear. At that time it felt quite epic, everyone from the town, fighting together with me against the dragon in the sky and the bear on the ground.
After their defeat, everyone gathered around them and I absorbed the dragon's soul.

Then I reload my last save. No way I was gonna let them stay dead!

Only in Skyrim. I love this game.
Now that was a good battle. You should have thrown yourself off the tower at the end though, it would have been far better.

OT: Probably me and my college academics tackling an Elder Dragon. Nothing too amazing, but the combination of magic and blade all pooled together in one battle was brilliant.

I had an excellent fight with one particular bandit. I ran into a room where three jumped me. I disposed of two quickly, but the last couldn't be killed with just one hit. I use a two handed weapon so I normally beat enemies before they can do anything about me. The last one however only had about 1/10th of her health gone from one of my attacks. So I charge up a power attack but she draws HER two handed weapon! She charges and throttles me backwards and my attack is interrupted. Her attack did quite a bit of damage so I begin to glug some potions and food I'd been storing. I restored my stamina with some ale and this time we both his each other, sending each other flying backwards. She just stood there for a second, and then taunted me to come at her. I obliged and charged, doing a power attack which knocked her senseless. She struck again, and this time she hit hard. I was at barely any health left, so I swung once more, desperately. She blocked it with ease, but was a bit shaken back. I ate the rest of my food putting me at about half health and charged getting another few hits. She and I were both at critical health. She charged and at the last second I blocked and then parried her back, knocking her to ground at the last moment and finishing her off. It was one of the few battles I really liked, most felt kind of lack luster. After winning I went around the corner looking for food and got shocked down by an energy mage.

Damn energy mages.

I saw this in the Latest Posts box...

it made me realise...
...i cant remember any... I find Skyrim that boring that i cant even remember any specific fights... :/

Im trying so hard to enjoy this game and i just cant... The Companions and their boring kill-the-silver-whatsits-and-nothing-else-EVER questline really hurt this game somehow... its not been the same since i finished it...

So I play dead is dead on my character, no reloads on master difficulty. I also use the shout-time reload reducing glitch, and gauntlet stacking for hand-to-hand combat(for about 200 damage per hit, i think). This new/balanced approach to playing tends to make every fight more raw/engaging, but my best battle was something of a freak accident, a perfect storm of random events if you will. It started as I was leaving Bloated Man's Grotto after retrieving Bolar's Oathblade, I saw a dragon flying overhead and went with my faithful follower Marcurio to go slay it. As I got closer, it was evidently locked in combat with the giants of Sleeping Tree Camp, and their mammoths. As I send a Call of Valor hero into the fray, Marcurio and I ran in and started peppering the enemies with shouts and destruction spells, a second dragon, Vuljotnaak, flies up out of nowhere and bombards us and the other enemies around me with some devastating breath attacks. To make things even more iteresting, some hired thugs decided now would be a good time to exact revenge for that time I stole somebodies sweetroll.
So at this point its me, my follower, and a summoned hero vs and Elder Dragon, Vuljotnaak, 2 giants and their mammoths, and 4 hired thugs.
This struggle went on for a while, covering a lot of ground as Marcurio, 3 of the thugs and the mammoths dropped off, a few furry woodland creatures joined the fray and died almost instantly in dragon fire. I was dragonrending and slowing time and fire breathing and whirlwind sprinting around as the mayhem unfolded, punching, jumping, dodging in slow motion until I finally killed off the Elder Dragon and a giant with some careful slow motion melee when a pack of bandits ran in (I still can't tell from where) to attack the Vuljotnaak and the remaining giant. I saw the chief go flying into the air after the giant clubbed him while I was locked in a hide-and-seek game with Vuljotnaak, and after the second dragon finally went down I just breathed deep and watched the last giant kill the bandits, then finished him off with a fus-ro-dah and body-blows. I was sweating bullets and mashing buttons for a total of over 10 minutes while this all happened, and although I lost my long-time traveling companion, he went out like a G. Strewn around his mangled corpse were the bodies of 2 Giants, 3 thugs, 2 dragons, 4 bandits, 2 mammoths, 2 wolves and a sabre cat. I said my goodbyes, wrote this summary to remember the moment and continued my trek alone.

I used the "unleveled Skyrim" mod and attempted Bleak Falls Barrow at only level 2 or 3. I had to hire the Nord woman in the inn to get past the spider, and the high levelled Dragur were beyond deadly. Eventually I got to the final boss, and it chewed through the Nord in a matter of seconds, and chased me all the way back through the catacombs as I fled like a pansy.

It died after I had ran through the swinging axes, and as it followed me it got hit repeatedly and died.

That was an amazing introduction to unleveled Skyrim, although the rest of the world wasn't as well balanced, as the destruction mages were redicuously overpowered, and I uninstalled it after that.

More of a funny moment than an epic battle but I thought i was equipped with soul tear ( I wasn't) and accidently ice formed a frost troll off of a mountain side causing him to land on and agitate a bear making him aware of my presence. Before he could run up the trail to get me, a frost dragon came down, fought with and killed him and was in turn killed by a passing hunter giving me a free dragon soul, gold, a couple of arrows and some bones. : )

Had a quick jaunt through my reddit post history to find this; reading stuff you don't remember writing months ago is weird.

Once I was walking from Ivarstead to Riften and a dragon appears in the distance. So I collect myself, venture forth and begin combat.

Now this isn't any ordinary dragon fight I have Deadly Dragons installed on the highest difficulty and Requiem installed on Legendary difficulty. Needless to say, it's probably the most tedious thing I've ever tried to do in Skyrim (still haven't even tried Ebony Warrior on those settings, I fear for my sanity) and ended up having me chew through my entire poison supply and using up all the soul gems I had on me for recharge. The dragon has around 1/4 life remaining which means about 2-3 more minutes of shooting arrows at it, keep in mind I've been going for about 15-20 so far.
I get dropped low by a fire breath from the dragon, and while I'm charging my healing spell I get shot with an ice spike from behind. In Requiem when you die it cuts fairly abruptly to the load screen, so I had very little time to process what happened, but when I did...

I reload, murder Marcurio, reload again etc. for about 3 minutes. I eventually settle for killing him, soul trapping him, and keeping the soul gem on my nightstand.

I will likely never recruit Marcurio ever again.

I had almost forgotten this when the reddit thread popped up the first time; I got mildly annoyed again remembering the frustration.

I had forgotten this when reading through this thread, and now I'm mildly annoyed again.

Still haven't recruited Marcurio.
