Right, lets go through this list:

Spears - Cool.
Kill cams for magic - Should be a patch, not content you have to pay for.
Water arrows - Cool!
Giant mud crabs - This, amongst other things, could just be the "more enemies", but I wouldn't buy something that would just give you big-ass mud crabs. This could be modded easily.
Paralysis runes - Alright.
Seasonal foliage - Awesome.
Speedy water currents - eehhh....I don't know what this is supposed to be. but "ok". Moddable, too.
Dark dungeons - New dungeons in general are an awesome idea.
Adoption of children - Moddable. But why only adoption and not just creating one yourself through your wife. Jeesh.
Advanced home building - Awesome. Great idea.
Epic new mounts - Flying, maybe? Or is that just hax.
Fast travel portals - Why is this useful? Explain to me. I love the options it gives you now, it's more than enough. That said, it's still extra content, so sure.
Kinect dragon shouts - Cool idea. I hope Kinect can handle such a thing.
Enhanced water visuals - Moddable. In fact, it's already been done about a billion times.
Ice and fire arrows - Great, just like the water arrows. I think there should be this branche where equipping magic in one hand and a bow in another hand is an option, lowering base damage, adding an effect. Just a random brainfart.
Lycanthrope perk tree - Yes. Just yes.
Vampire imp minions - Also, great idea. I don't think this would fair well if released alone, though. It's a bit too measly for that.
Goblins - Sure. Give them some new dungeons too. I don't disagree. As long as they look good.

P.S. Since when was it standard to assume DLC is paid by default? Downloadable Content...technically the steam workshop is just a user-generated DLC system. Yes it's also technically mods but it's delivered in a similar fashion (as in, not having to mess about with files manually).
I think it started when Microsoft said no new content to the games will be provided for free, forcing companies to charge 1 dollar for it (because that is the cheaper MS accept).

So, yes... Unless you are installing mods on PC, for a lot of people DLC means "pay us for some extra content".

Uh...so, they were able to come up with Killcams for Magic, but they couldn't think of Dragon Mounts?
OP kinda missed the most interesting part of this being the video:

Todd Howard sums it up better than me but essentially, they gave the employees a week to throw their own personal ideas into the game, and then made a video of some of the highlights.

The result is actually quite amazing.
My God that all needs to be officially added to the game or the guys at bethesda have got to let the modders know how they did all that.
Even better.
They should put all of that either in DLC or in the Steam workshop as mods.

All of those things that are listed sound like something some random group of modders could create in less than a week. I can't imagine them being released on consoles in separate DLCs for a price or else it will be Horse Armour all over again.

I also fail to see how some of those are "experiments" if they've already been featured/created (by modders) before.
That is exactly what I was thinking.

Around half of that list I've already seen someone mod in or are at least a given to be a mod in the near future.

Maybe Bethesda should just pay the modding community for the work they have already done for them. We've already seen that the modders are better at it than they are.

Arent Falmer goblins by another name?

That was the first thing I thought of since the dragons seem more like wyverns and trolls/frost trolls seem more like Sasquatch/Yeti. Stil if they arent pathfinder's goblins I wont be able to take them seriously (or as seriously as you can take Pathfinder goblins)

I especially like the idea of building your own home. It seems like theres a lot you could do with that.

Also spears, the one thing I thought was really missing from the vast array of weapons in skyrim

I like all those ideas but most of them seem like dollar DLC at best. If added in more expansive DLC that opens up new quests Ill totally be for it.

Today at DICE 2012, Todd Howard, creative director as Bethesda announced a couple of ideas they're been playing around with (or as he called them "experiments"). The list of stuff mentioned includes:

Spears Could be interesting - were in F:NV
Kill cams for magic Pointless
Water arrows Already modded
Giant mud crabs Already modded, and done with a console command
Paralysis runes Pointless
Seasonal foliage Might be nice flavor
Speedy water currents ?
Dark dungeons Already done?
Adoption of children Ah, so I can beat the little snots in the privacy of my own home. A must.
Advanced home building Que?
Epic new mounts Meh.
Fast travel portals ......why?
Kinect dragon shouts Don't care.
Enhanced water visuals Already modded.
Ice and fire arrows Already done.
Lycanthrope perk tree Eh.....
Vampire imp minions
Goblins

Personal Speculation:
These additions however will likely be in included in other DLCs since Bethesda announced that they were going to do more substantial DLC packs, and released individual I wouldn't classify these as substantial. Regardless I'm most excited for the new Lycan perk tree and spears so I can finally make my Odin fighter character. Also giant mud crubs, just because.

Edit: For those of you who still haven't picked up the game but are thinking about it, Steam is currently still having a sale on Skyrim (33% off, so $40 US), and there's a collection which includes Skyrim and both Morrowind and Oblivion GOTY editions for $50.

As a console Skyrim player, I'd be eager to have everyone of these. I browse the Nexus, just seeing all of the cool mods people have made and I get jealous every time [small](that's not weird, is it? <_<)[/small]. HOWEVER, I cannot say that I would pay for these if they came by themselves. If they came packaged all together, then I might consider it, but if I have to pay separately, then no, I can live without these things.

I can see them incorporating them in much more world expanding DLC, like spears, giant mud crabs, or goblins [small](I always wondered what happened to those guys. Figured that they didn't like the cold so they stayed away from Skyrim. Thought the Falmer was kind of the alternative. A needlessly difficult alternative. :S)[/small].

By the way, I'm fully aware that this is part of Bethesda's Game Jam week. I know that there's a chance that none of this stuff will appear in the game. A guy can hope, though, right?

How about the ability to ride dragons?
Did you watch the video? Oh wait, silly question.

OP, Change your opening post, seriously... a lot of people who are unable to look into this seem to think Bethesda are doing Mini DLC again. WHICH THEY AREN'T.

Nope, falmer are elves, like Dwemre (Dwarves), Bosmer (wood elves), Dunmer (Dark Elves), Altmer (High Elves) and Orsmer (Orcs). Goblins are a different species altogether (possibly related to Ogres, since they are both barbaric races).

Dragons are Dragons, TES doesn't follow standard High Fantasy rules. Trolls are essentially Yetis and Sasquatches, now that you mention it.

*****, *****, *****. That is all this thread has. Everyone complains when they want to add something, and bitches that they are changing something. "They should have added it before it was released!" Well, they didn't, and they are now, so what is the problem? These are just ideas, it isn't what their DLC is going to be, and if you read the link, they may even be included in updates. It isn't your game, it is theirs and they are letting you play it. It is like telling a musician how his album should have been because you don't like it. I know I will get some crap of "well they are selling it, so they should make it just for me and exactly how I want it" or something. I love this game, and I'm not going to throw a fit like an 8 year old because it isn't exactly what I want. No game will be unless I make it myself.

The thing is this is ALL stuff that could be made by community modders. I would much rather they concentrated on a proper expansion pack, like ES of old.

No c-c-c-CROSSBOWS?
I hope they do get spears, a friend of mine would be very pleased! And I just love it when his wee face lights up. =3
I want a chaurus mount. That would be ace.

Don't enchanted bows already do the "ice and fire arrow" thing?

Also, I would love to adopt a child.

I would adopt that Aventus kid. I like him. Takes initiative when he wants people dead. Doesn't pussy out the moment he see's a tiger man/werewolf assassin.

Nnnnnggggggg.

The Escapist's article is much clearer. This was just a random challenge the Bethesda staff had. Maybe they'll use some of this, but none of that would make a piece of DLC on its own, I bet you my left nut. Especially as Todd howard explicitly said we wouldn't get dragon mounts.

Personally, I thought the seasonal foliage was pretty cool, the water shader too. Shame environment mods rape my laptop, as I found modding out Oblivion.

I take back what I said about modders doing the giant mudcrab thing already.

The one Bethesda came up with is probably one of the scariest things I've seen. It looks like it would wreck your shit.

How about a crossbow? So you don't have to hold down the button to keep the bow strung while you walk around. Maybe it has lower range or something so it's more useful for dungeons.
