I had high expectations. what skyrim did was backstab them like an epic level rogue, and prove it was not just what i wanted but more, much much more! it is better than what i hoped for, and i can't believe this is even possible! this is THE EPIC GAME OF EPIC GAMES!

Well I'm really enjoying it. Which is weird because I never really liked oblivion or morrowind and as far as I can tell there isn't a whole lot of difference. Guess I'll have to go play it some more to find out why.

All I don't like is some of the character animations. But they don't even get me out of the immersion, I think it's really awesome. Oh and I think a little bit more things could be explained. I never knew how to pick up stuff without putting it in your inventory, how to hotkey stuff and I still don't really know how alchemy works. I guess that it all comes down to having the right ingrediënts, but there's no clear way to "hunt" for a specific kind of ingredient. Good thing that there's shops, though.

It's amazing.
And it will be even better once more mods have been made.
Which is one of the main reasons I got it.

It's everything I expected. To round that up I'm even taken by surprise by the narratives of the side-quests are much more intriguing than Oblivion's; and I've even stopped to read some books in-game!

Skyrim is plain awesome, the only thing i dont like is how the Blocking skill works in general.

I dont see the point that - although i'm successfully blocking - i still get beaten around for a couple of game hours until my skill increased high enough.

A block is a block, it either blocks completely or not (aka your weapon breaks in your face). Instead of loosing health from a 'amateur' block they should've made the weapons get more damage.

I think it's great. Definitely a contender for game of the year. A big step up from Oblivion that I think was rubbish.

The part I dislike most about it is the UI, which is awful on the PC. But thats Bethesda games in a nutshell, they have some amazing elements and some really bad ones.

What the hell made you think it would be like WoW? Honestly, do some research before you buy games, otherwise you deserve to be disappointed. Although at this point I'm not sure if you are just incredibly misinformed or a troll. Really could go either way at this point.

A few modifications to the inventory interface, something to stop me from jumping from one zoomed in skill constellation to another... there isn't any really breaking it for me. (And when the GECK equivalent comes out there will be mods to fix these, at least the first one.)

I'm sure the game will be great; it has all the hallmarks of an immersive, beautiful and rich world with reasonable mechanics, but so far I feel very let down by huge ancillary problems. The controls are horrid, lifted straight out of the console without ANY consideration for PC users (except for Quicksave/load), I've spent over 45 mins tweaking ini files just to make it remotely playable. The menus and UI are horrid, not enough hotkeys, can only assign ONE key to any one function, a massive bug telling you to press "R" (default key) to do anything in inventory, but it doesn't update because you changed what R does.

For example, the key to drop inventory is the same as that for sheath/unsheathe weapon. If you change unsheathe weapon, it changes the key to drop inventory. It's a Bethesda game and the quality of life is terrible to the point of anger and frustration :-(

More about the game, I hate that there's only 4 items of armour now and I'm not so keen on the perks thing. I preferred it when leveling skills conferred skill related bonuses. The perks should have complimented THAT instead of replacing it entirely.

I don't know if the SDK is out yet, but this game needs some serious modding to iron out the flaws. Take away all this rubbish and frustration with controls, UI and the rest, then it will be a great great game. Right now it's a flawed great game.

I think the game looks great but I personally can't see myself playing it for too long, so for me it's not really worth paying 60$+ for it.

And to finish the above, I think it's really sad that Bethesda couldn't spend sometime to make it the best it could be for all platforms. It's not like they didn't have the resources, or that they wouldn't recoup the cost. It's not the job of the community to fix a flawed game, that's the developers job. how they passed this stuff in QA is beyond me.

I've been hearing this a lot but I never really saw what was so bad about the UI. I think it's rather perfect, apart from opening the menus being a little hectic.

Don't worry, OP, it gets significantly better the further you get. I've just made a rather startling discovery in the main quest, something that stunned me with its awesomeness. :p

What do I think of it? I think that it's fantastic, although it's a bit odd that I can kill a giant, or even a dragon, a hundred times easier than I can kill a motherfucking lich.

My god your opinion is different to the majority, you can not be part of this society... Joke set aside, I like it, there are not many games which give me the quality that I want for an exploration game, and skyrim really gives out.
