About 18 hours in at the moment. No massive issues so far other than the UI does not play well with a mouse. I think I would have similiar results trying to navigate it with a potato.

Just the occasional glitch with the menu. The 'Radiant Story' was a bit hyped, but I can say that me and a friend are having different experiences with the side quest lines, specifically the companion line. The dynamic snow works for me, sometimes its a light snowfall, other times it is impossible to see, and sometimes even in snowy areas, there is no snowfall at all. I guess that's dynamic enough, just wished the textures were better.
There was nothing they promised that I feel they didn't really deliver on. I mean, they didn't promise to get rid of the weightless physics, and they didn't - I would have liked to see a change, but it's not bullshit that the same-old is there.
OH! The random dragon fights tend to be kind of weak. Only twice have I had a random dragon fight where the dragon felt like an actual threat and one of those times a Giant ran in and saved the day because the dragon iced one of his mammoths.
seriously? You didn't think to shoot something at it? Shout at it?Dusk17 said:Fighting the dragons is bullshit, watching them fly around you for 5 minutes waiting for them to land is boring. After waiting for 7 minutes I said fuck it and went on my way, the dragon never bothered to even fight me it just flew around roaring.
You are not the only one.linkmastr001 said:So far, the main issue I've had playing it is that there is no breath meter. Otherwise, I wish there was a way to re-speck your specializations.
Question: Am I the only one who had a dragon attack a city that I just fast traveled to? Once I went to Whiterun I believe and a dragon cam and attacked, landing on the on of the Blacksmith's house (the girl's), so several of the guards, and a few of the citizens, and me fought the dragon. Eventually, we killed it, but then the guards killed me since someone walked into my flame spell... It was still awesome regardless. Anyone figure out how to stop a fight with the guards?
I want more so badly, too bad I was only playing my brother's copy and am waiting until christmas before getting this game.
EDIT: Corrected the city name
I don't feel terrible that I don't have an artifact sword yet or have spent no points in enchanting yet. Why does 2 handed perks benefit a 1 handed shield warrior? As for shield bashing, it takes stamina (I have about 200) and in combat using stamina to stagger a opponent vs. actually lowering their health with a chunk (power attack) is debatable. Even if you claim stamina potions you can't make/buy them fast enough to compensate for how fast you are using them up. As well, on Expert it isn't only about your damage but their damage. standing toe to toe is stupid and this is coming from someone with over 50 in heavy armor for level 18 and all the perks that go with that except the "brawler" one. As well as 40 in shield with all those perks for that level. I am in dwarven armor with these perks and skills and I am still meeting strong opposition at times. I am using a Dwarven sword of Frost(Superior) and all my dwarven armor is is superior.Kopikatsu said:The fact that you've having difficulty tells me one of three things. 1. You have no artifact swords yet, 2. You put no points into smithing, or 3. You put no points into enchantment.
If one (or all) of those things are true, you should feel terrible.
Edit: or 4. You didn't invest in two handed perks, or 5. You don't abuse Shield Bashing.
It's much easier to take his schedule, read it and observe which place he will be most vulnerable in at what time, and then wait there for your time to strike.darth.pixie said:For one of the Brotherhood quests, I had to trail this one guy. So I did because I figured it was easier to do just that rather then getting the optional quest as well.
So I do so. Guy just ambled along, no care in the world. Occasionally, he went off road to the river, sat there for a couple of minutes and started again. Then he got trapped between some rocks on the shore.
What was I doing during all this? The big bad assassin, dressed in black and blood red, with enchanted daggers, lethal poisons and damaging spells was picking flowers on the side of the road and sprinkled them in the dude's path when there weren't any more to pick.
Also, the Butcher Quest? I didn't get all the items, game thought I did and now it's stuck at a point where I can't do anything to advance it and won't reload since that was ages ago.

Also, what the fuck is up with the bears and saber tooth cats? I can go toe to toe with a blood dragon for ten minutes straight but a big cat can kill me in four hits?
Fuck the dragons; if Alduin wants to conquer Skyrim, he should just send in a couple hundred Sabertooth Cats
They're really dangerous because they POUNCE at you! You can barely move aside when they try to and they're really strong.
My response? Rune the crap out of them. Yeah. That and stealth bow attacks.

Another reason why Morrowind is better, when you killed someone vital to a quest the game would let you kill him, then give you a message that he was important and that you'll need an early save if you ever want to do that quest.Black Arrow Officer said:Unkillable NPC's. It's no fun assassinating someone when he just bends over on the ground and then gets up again. I don't care about some little sidequest with him, I just want him dead! If they're that important to the story, they should at least respawn or something.
All I'm saying is the ability to get him to drop is there. All you really need is a bow or magic that isn't flamethrower style. Honestly, though, the dragons I've randomly run into so far are very adamant about landing and trying to tear my ass apart.Dusk17 said:My character does not have a bow and the shouts dont have that kind of range and i dont have the one that makes them land. Probably it'll be either fixed or have mods to fix it by Christmas, so you should be fine.killer12480 said:One thing that worries me.....
I am getting it for Christmas, along with a new computer, and people are saying that the menu system is just awful.

Don't complain about the game being easy if you are clearly playing the game on very easy (easy at best). I know for a fact that standing there idly by while a dragon is spewing fire on you will kill you with or without healing spells (my character has shit-loads of health, best heavy armor I can get, lots of fire resistance and I can barely survive one round of fire)DasDestroyer said:...but it's not fun when I can fireball it a couple of times, use healing while it breathes fire and not take any damage, then fireball it a few more times and it's dead.
50% stamina regeneration IS A PRETTY BIG DEAL, but again (and this ties to my previous point), maybe not if you're playing on very easy.Acrisius said:Seriously, there are no downsides at all to picking heavy armor and it looks way cooler.
I think like everything else more things become available as you level up those skills, at least that's what it did for me with smithing. But I could be wrong, if you're already a really high destruction level etc etc then I got nothing.AMAZED said:I cannot find anyone in all of skyrim that sells spells above apprentice level, if anyone knows how to obtain advanced spells please tell me
