Well, this is silly. What a nice joke, ha hee ha hee ha. Seriously, though. When the day comes that E-rated games are blamed for violence, I'll personally shoot the one who says that first in the foot. ([sarcasm]Just like on Half life 2.[/sarcasm])

Also, just in case - Source or it didn't happen anywhere ever.

I probably shouldn't have edited my original post, because if this obvious spoof thread has proven anything, it's that even the apparent gamers visiting this forum are way too ready to believe any media source that suggests people are doing stupid things because of a video game.

This is a real case, but come on, "get gets into gun collection and accidentally shoots himself" is as common as dirt. Throw Halo on top of it and suddenly we're supposed to expect this is different from some kid playing Cowboys and Indians before running afoul of the gun collection 50 years ago? If society had a lick of sense, that headline would read, "Parents inadvertently kill child by not practicing proper gun safety."

Those kids had to of been high or under the influence of some type of drug to do that. Lets start counting down the moment that Jack Thompson brings this up...

VIDEO GAMES DON'T CAUSE VIOLENCE!
Gosh! Doesn't anyone blame the parents for these sorts of things?

It's kinda like that kid who reenacted Halo and shot himself...
And noone blamed the parents for giving their 11-year-old child a .45 caliber hunting rifle.

This case is heartbreaking. Something has to be done about the gaming industry. It's steadily enveloping the world, brainwashing our kids. Is there nowhere safe on this god forsaken planet? I don't want my kids to be born in a world where we freely let this malevonence lurk around every corner.

It just sickens me.

At least they were only trying to act out Katamari Damarcy. Imagine the macabre scene the police might have had to witness to if the boys had tried to act out WarioWare: Touched.

/God I love fake news stories

That was so well done though, the underlying parady isn't easy to pick up, and knowing what kind of fucked up kids are out there it wouldn't surprise me if it did.

Nah, the boys couldn't be mentally ill psychopaths at all. It has to be the RATED-E GAME! Attention criminally insane people of the world: stop playing video games! It makes the sane people who play them look bad!

If it is fake, that was pretty funny. Well done!

But otherwise, back to the anger up top.

The sad thing is, this is plausible enough that some people believed it.
You can't really blame those of us that did, though. I mean, people talk about this stuff all the time, so it wasn't that surprising at all.

You know what, I could probably go on a murder spree on violent game players, say that I idolise Jack Thompson and I am doing his work, and they would probably still blame games.

Is this fake by the way?

EDIT: Ha Carter you sly dog! You nearly made me look like a fool.
