Honestly though, you are in the denial phase. Soon you will accept it.
I'm not denying anything. I just meant that I'm not addicted in the sense that I can go 2 days without feeling any different than after I just smoked one. Though I do so love smoking.

I've gone 4 days without one. Think that's my record.
Not much of a record there, bud. Seriously, you're addicted, and though you may not notice a change in your behaviour, I'm sure others would. That's the way it happens. My dad quit smoking cold turkey, and was an irritable prick (more so) for a while, but thought he was being absolutely perfect. We don't notice changes in our own personality.

I enjoy smoking now and then, maybe one or two cigarettes each week. I don't buy them, I never have, I just have one sometimes if I'm offered one. I never request one, and I'll often turn them down, but if I'm offered and am in the mood for one, I'll huff some cancer.

I've been smoking for 7 years, and I ain't quitting.
When I am home, I don't smoke (maybe one or two cigarettes when I am fetching something from outside), but when I drink.. the shit takes off!

I will try to avoid smoking, so I don't fuck up my lungs. Can't sing or growl with bad lungs, can I? I have an annoying memory of being with a friend when he and his pals were smoking. I stood there and tried to breath in as little as possible. The really annoying part was that this was during school time, and when we were heading to our class, my sweater smelled like smoke, so I had to hide it in the closet. No, I didn't walk without anything shirt, I had a t-shirt. But it was freezing!

As long as I'm no where near it, I couldn't care less. I hate when someone starts smoking while around non smokers, it's incredibly selfish.

It's disgusting, I hate it and you should stop it. I cough LOUDLY whenever i see someone smoking to let them know that I don't care for their smoke. Why on earth would you PAY someone to SLOWLY kill you?
*blows smoke at WindScar*

We're all slowly dying anyway why should it matter how I decide to spend my existence? Anyway I can think of things that are far worse than second hand smoke, be it physically or mentally damaging.

You taste like shit to anyone you kiss, I came close to vomiting after this one chick who smoked a ton.
I feel you. Seriously, I carry around mints and such for myself. Sometimes the chick needs it too.

I understand where you're coming from with the bulk of your arguement, I have a similar relationship with beer. I bloody love beer and drink it almost everyday at uni. Just don't expect any snogging with me :p

It is a record in the sense that people say if you can go 3 days without one, it gets easier form then on to quit.

I certainly notice a change in OTHER people's behavior. Also, why is it so hard to believe that I can smoke but not be addicted to it? (Because many have said it before) Okay, that is true.

I know is I could stop for a week. a month. So why Don't I do it? Same reason people don't give up sex.

So it's a slow addiction.

HAH!

That's cute.

Don't smoke a single cigarette for a month straight and then I'll believe you.

*giggles at "I am not addicted though" sentence*

If you can stop for that long without one then it doesn't sound to me as though you are addicted, particularly. I know what going an hour without a cigarette was like when I was a smoker, and I certainly would have had problems going without them for that long.

However, you shouldn't be too confident that your non-reliance on cigarettes will always be this way.

As long as you aren't smoking around small children or in places where people can't avoid your smoke (like when they're at work) I don't care what you do to yourself. And don't throw the butts on the ground jackasses, those things are a pain to clean up after it rains.
When I was a smoker I smoked roll-ups with no filter (so they break up in the space of a few days) and I used to leave them on the floor. I was told that putting them into bins was something of a fire risk, and so the floor was a better place for them.

You know, smoking is a dirty word here in California, but the thing is im a college student, now we seem to be either a minority in the fact that at my college ARC pretty much every one either smokes or used to, or just a youth messed up by too much caffine and bad movies. Now I must say when I go to the store and I get out of my truck with a camel crush in my mouth, (shut up I like crushes..get over it), I get stared at like a a leper, exept for the old lady who sits outside the store all day smoking..on a oxygen supply...but that beside the point.. I'm a proud smoker, and if you tell me ill get cancer ill just take another drag and say this, support cancer research, it may save your life one day...

Interesting how it's a somewhat acceptable activity. If the topic was "Cutting. I do it because I love it." would people be so accepting?

Personally, I think it's an incredibly selfish activity, because you will almost certainly develop health issues in the long term. I don't care if people smoke, per se, but as far as I'm concerned, they should be denied access to healthcare for smoking related illnesses.

Edit: I also don't get why people think it's attractive. If I'm interested in a girl, and I find out she smokes, that's it.

As for people who hate the smell, It's very easy to cover up the fact you've been smoking as well. Toothpaste or mouthwash work quite well. Wash your hands. Either smoke outdoors or in a moving car with the windows down to avoid having your clothes and hair smell like smoke.
No, it doesn't stop the smell from clinging to you. I can smell someone who smokes for DAYS after they last smoked. I don't care when people smoke as long as they don't do it where other people can't get away from it and they don't throw it on the ground.

i find it to be quite repulsive, i dont understand it

i could understand weed because well its not addictive or that harmful depending on method of use as far as i know, and it makes you feel different

as for cigarettes it basically seems like paying someone to kill you slowly and painfully, which is kind of an odd use of money, ive never understood it
Do you eat fast food, or junk food, or pop or 95% of the stuff in grocery stores that are filled with chemicals, pesticides, artificial flavouring? If you answered yes, then you are also paying someone to kill you slowly. (Obesity due to fast and junk food is more potent of a killer than cigarettes now in 1st world countries)

OT: As long as smokers don't smoke in public places ei. restaurants, theaters, stores etc.. I'm fine with it. It's your body, your choice to put whatever you want in it.
