Smoking. I do it because I love it.

Personally, I HAAAAAAAAAAATE smoking. Mostly because of the smell. It's SICKENING. It's NAUSEATING. When I see someone smoking, my opinion of them automatically diminishes because I fail to understand how they can inhale so much shit into their lungs and not mind what they're doing to their bodies.

However, I'm also all for do whatever the hell you want to. So here's the philosophy I've come to accept: If your a smoker, then go ahead and smoke your brains out if you want to, and be proud of it. It's not really any of my business what you do with your own body. But don't ruin my lungs in the process. Basically, we're all just choosing how we're going to die anyway. Lung cancer from second hand smoke is NOT the way I want to go. I'd rather go out by chocolate overdose. :)

So in short, smoke all you want to, but keep it away from me.

I used to smoke, but after I started on antidepressants my taste changed, and cigarettes were one of the things that I couldnt stand afterwards. I don't care what you do, though. Smoke and be happy.

I started smoking because it helps anxiety, i have no cravings because i kind of don't like smoking. It tastes awful and my hands end up smelling bad, i could quit any time i wanted to.
I will probably stop smoking in a few weeks, but for now i want a smoke!
Funny.

Everyone saying that they are not addicted to smokes and they have been smoking for a reasonable time.. You're in denial.

The biggest issue for me is that I have an allergy to cigarette smoke. I'm just saying this for the people who blow smoke in the faces of 'rude' passerby who treat them poorly for smoking in public. I can't control my coughing, and when you force me to inhale more smoke, I just end up with nausea, headache, and EVEN MORE uncontrollable coughing for hours.

You can do whatever you want privately, and I can't stop you from doing what you want in public, but I think you're being far ruder by making me sick and increasing my risk of lung cancer than I could ever be by covering my face or coughing as I walk by.

Don't smoke, never did.

I hate it being around people who smoke, and as such, I hold my breath as long as possible.

I could care less if you did it privately though. Your lungs you want to destroy, man. Just, don't destroy mine.
Same here. My sinuses are very sensitive to smoke, even when it's dispersed outdoors. I try my best to avoid smokers in public, but it's really hard when so many here at Uni blatantly ignore the '25ft from buildings' rule.

I used to smoke, but I quit. Only smoke now if someone offers me a smoke with them, but otherwise I don't.

I have a cigar every 10 weeks and enjoy the menthol whenever others are smoking. I social smoke and celebratory only.

good advice pieces.

Anyway I really don't care about if someone smokes or not. Past girlfriend would claim that she could taste it even though I did it a week before and she didn't say anything until after I told her so that's crockery.

I just wish morepeople would do it just because they enjoy it and not come to need that nicotine.

Dont smoke within a distance where i can smell it and i could care less.

You can do whatever you want to your health, but everytime you walk past someone in the street your effecting theirs.

Yeah, see I don' like even having to smell other people's cigarettes when they're smoking them. Hard to cover that up. You even get it when in a car with the windows down. Plus, as a musician I need the full capacity of both my lungs.

Also, with the shitty food I eat here in the good old U.S. of A., I don't really need to make my risk of cancer any higher for a little "rush".

Fuck smoking.

You can tell when someone's coughing because they can't breathe or if it's because then need to *eh hem* cough and look at you disapprovingly. Having said this, there hasn't been many occasions were someone was as annoying as that and I generally try to exhale away from people.

I am with you on this one. I too started smoking when I was 18 (never smoked pot like you did, still). I too like the taste of menthol. If you haven't already tried this brand, I highly recommend Sky Dancers Menthol. Also, I am like you in that I am not addicted. I don't have nicotine cravings, and I don't have the nicotine withdrawal effect like others have.

I love cigarettes. I go about half a pack per day, sometimes more on a bad day at work. I do consider myself to be mildly addicted, but I'm perfectly okay with it. I know it's bad for me, and I can feel it, because I have to put in extra effort to keep up with the other guys at work. Yes, I'm painfully aware of how bad it is for me, my grandfather spent the last few years of his life living with my family, slowly dying of lung cancer.

I'm a courteous smoker; I won't smoke in my truck unless I'm either alone or have the permission of the passengers, and I never smoke indoors. If you preach to me about how wrong smoking is, you'll be getting a very good look at the lit end of my cigarette.

Personally I just hate the smell and taste. I'm personally fine when people smoke near me outside, but it's when it's in a house or something I have to walk outside because I find it's just the most repulsive smell.

It's like me walking in and taking a dump in front of the smokers. But of cause thats just my opinion on the matter.
